Dodgy Locksmith scam
This company is not honest, despite its website that suggests otherwise. I rang them to help me open a smart lock that would not work. The locksmith went to the wrong address and then argued with me that I did not know where I was!
The locksmith had no logo or information about the company on him. Then suggested we try a back door that would be cheaper to open. The door was picked and I was able to gain entry.
The problem was that the charges were told to me after the job was started, quoted ex GST and they kept adding up. So the total was $758.80 for the callout and the lock pick. No hardware needed to be replaced.
I was then made to pay be bank transfer to another company, Solvix. I was not given a receipt and told that I would receive one later. The invoice was issued to me after I had made a formal complaint about the overcharge and misleading information on their website.
On the following Monday I obtained a quote for this work from another provider. They suggested it should have cost around $280-300.
The company did not offer any factual information as to why their charges we excessive and did not answer all my complaints.
