I wish I could give a negative 5 stars

I wish I could give a negative 5 stars. This started when I pre-ordered my kit. I was told I would have the kit in April, then October came and still no kit. I had to file a complaint with my credit card company to get them to ship. Fast forward 6 months... wheel stopped working and ZERO response from the company. DO NOT BUY from this company!

This company is a disgrace

This company is a disgrace. I paid £200 in November 2025. I was promised delivery early 2026. I cannot find any order confirmation information in my email files. this could be my fault but very unusual. The issue is that if you do have a problem there are no human beings to speak to. They use an AI robot as the provider of support and it does not address the issue that you are raising. So I am £200 out of pocket and completely unable to speak to anyone about my order.

7 months from ordering-- STILL No Full Order Received

7 months from ordering last year, and I am STILL waiting for the rest of my kit when it the order stated delivery to the US in 1-3 months! Swytch did NOT inform me and just delivered a partial kit without offering the option to cancel with full refund since they STILL can't confirm a delivery date! This consumed the 60-day credit card dispute period. Every reputable business would inform customers of shipping delays and offer alternative options. It doesn't matter if Swytch folks are incompetent when it results in ripping off customers! Do NOT Buy from this company!!!

Fiddly kit, poor performance, terrible customer service

Firstly, the kit is nowhere near as simple to fit as advertised. I had to pay a Swytch partner mechanic to fit it in the end.
Then, the Swytch kit developed a fault after about 1000km. The customer service was painstakingly slow. The first responder was AI, and not a good one. A week later a human responded, but as they couldn't address the problem in one response (as was my experience), you then enter a back and forth which takes months (as each human response took at least two weeks to come through). If you need to send photos or video, they have a limited data allowance, which severely restricts what you can send.
On the positive side, they agreed to replace my cables and motor wheel free of charge. However, this has still not fixed the problem, and it has now been at least 6 months since the issue was first flagged.
I would not buy Swytch again.

7 months - Where is my swytchbike kit???

Placed an order for a swytch kit on 27 september 2025 with a delivery date we estimated for December 2025. We are now mid april.. i have emailed them and they say they have delivery issues, and to keep checking on their portal - they move the date every time I check - latest check was 1st May to 8th May - to be delivered by undetermined - IE. Not to be delivered - as these windows have been quoted in Jan, Feb. march and....what is going on?? Like previous reviewers have mentioned they would sell more if they had a satisfied base of users rather than an unfulfilled pipeline of orders bitching about them - good customer service is not about having a portal that keeps shifting your delivery dates reactively when you chase your order - good service is delivering the goods. Sort it out!!

disappointed in a Swytch Universal MAX…

I invested in a Swytch Universal MAX Kit (Jan/Feb 2023 delivery batch) and overall I believe in the product. Converting my bike was the right decision and the kit has performed well.

However, I am now in need of a replacement charger and have hit a serious wall. The charger uses a fully proprietary connector that works only with Swytch chargers. There is no third-party option, no adapter sold separately, and no affordable path to a replacement without coming back to Swytch directly — at full price.

This is a frustrating design choice that effectively holds customers hostage for a basic consumable item. A charger is not a luxury accessory. It is what keeps the kit functional.

It is worth noting that the EU's Common Charger Directive now prohibits this kind of proprietary lock-in for consumer electronics — because regulators recognized that forcing customers to rely exclusively on manufacturer chargers generates unnecessary e-waste and undermines consumer rights. Ebikes are not yet covered under that law, but the principle is the same. Swytch is a company that markets itself on sustainability and accessibility. A proprietary charging system that leaves customers stranded is at odds with both of those values.

I am reaching out publicly because I want Swytch to make this right by providing a replacement charger for my MAX battery. I remain a supporter of what this company is trying to do — I just need them to support their customers in return.

Overall though I am delighted with my Swytch kit - it functions very well and has made my cycle to work a breeze; I really enjoy using my bike again.

UTTERLY APPALLING!! AVOID!!

What an utterly appalling service: I implore you ALL - avoid like the PLAGUE!

I placed an order 6 months ago in October 2025, with delivery promised by early February 2026.

However, on 1 February, the expected delivery date suddenly became delayed - and without warning, explanation or apology. It was suddenly now rescheduled for March. This sudden, and last-minute delay seemed to be something I was expected to somehow accept without question.

A month-long delay for any service is very poor, but I had already invested 3 months of waiting and so gave in to 'Alexis' the AI customer service bot's assurance the kit would now arrive by March...

Then, as March neared, the delivery date changed to April instead.

Now in April, the delivery date has changed to May...

I have had to take up a Visa dispute to reclaim my money - and £486 is no small amount - after correspondence was clearly not possible.

Anyone considering this service, please heed my advice: AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!

I need to return a faulty motor wheel

I need to return a faulty motor wheel. (It rattles and screeches). I can't return it until customer support replies to my request and all I get is Alexi responses which are useless. Been waiting over a month. I now want to get legal but they hide their addresses. Will try Companies House.

A very difficult company to deal with, not recommended!

Re: Order no. SW-0234428
There are so many reviews on here where many folks have had similarly bad experiences, which has been sad to read but also a kind of 'comfort'...as this has been a very stressful experience for me. After having Breast cancer I wanted to get back to cycling with less of the manual effort. This looked so promising but I now regret having anything to do with this company. Their incompetence is off the scale, as has been my frustration at times. Not good for my health. Totally counterproductive experience for me!

The kit was ordered July 2025 to arrive within 3 months. It didn't and there was no communications. After I sent repetitive emails, with no human response and an AI asking to make things clearer that couldn't have been written clearer in my emails, I finally got an human being and £30 off the delivery charge - the wheel etc. arrived January 2026.

Sadly.... it was the wrong wheel. My bike is black, the wheel is silver. After waiting 8 months for delivery, I have now sent 4 emails to Swytch about receiving the wrong wheel and had zero response. In my last emails I said I would be looking at my legal rights and writing on Trust Pilot, still had no response. I appealed to their humanity and responsibility as a company - no response. I do believe every email has been ignored. Adding insult to injury, I am still receiving sales offers and being told how they are improving their orders procedure to make things easier to buy stuff. Beggars belief. It does seem once they get their money, their priority and loyalty to the customer is done.

I am stressed and tired of this situation now. I am a very reasonable person and support new initiatives but I would sadly definitely not recommend anyone to get involved with this company. This may be a first world problem but quite frankly it's the worst experience I've ever had with a purchase.

I have now made contact with a nearby bike shop who deal with Swytch and they say they will put this wheel on for £60 and contact Swytch to see if they will cover the cost of spraying it black. There is no way I should be covering that cost, nor the shop. They have a direct mobile number which they couldn't give away, which I understand.

I hope Swytch honour the cost of the shop spraying the wheel, its the least they can do given they sent me the wrong one and after all I've been through. It's all so unnecessary. Any company operating on such poor customer care can't hope to thrive in the long run. I hope someone learns from this. And I hope the product runs smoothly once the shop install it.

Finally, if anyone wants to reach across from Swytch on here that's fine, but don't ask me to alter my feedback before you make your amendments. I've seen this asked here few times after many other reviews from disappointed customers.

Waste of time and money

I had been following this company for a couple of years and o finally decided to take the plunge last September. I put down a deposit and was to be charged in December the remainder with delivery at the end of December.

The beginning of December rolls around. No word from Swytch. I check my order and it’s been put back to January. No communication from the company. I have to manually pay the remainder and decidme to wait til January, despite it being an auto-Christmas present.

In January I check the status again as I have had no communication Delivery is put back to the end of February. I have to communicate through a crappy AI which will eventually pass the message to a real person 2 weeks later. I grit my teeth and wait.

In February I once again check the status. Remember, as per usual, no communication from the company. Delois put back to the end of March. So I wrote to the company complaining and I hear back after two weeks and the AI intervening. They offer me a choice: full refund or £50 refund and wait til March.

March comes along… you guessed it. Delivery is put back to the end of April. At this point I ask for a full refund. The AI passes the message on to a real person who responds 2 weeks later. No apology or anything just “we will process your refund”. I wrote back saying I expect at least an apology for the inconvenience. Another week later he replies with a lacklustre apology. I also have to wait nearly 3 weeks for a refund.

A truly unprofessional outfit. Very disappointed and very angry at the treatment and lack of communication this company provides.

Woeful customer service - Ponzi scheme

Order paid for up front in Oct 2025.
Delivery scheduled for Feb 2026.
The delayed to March. Then April. Then May.
Response from customer service is beyond woeful.
Have now decided to cancel the order - they took 2 weeks respond. Still no refund.

My fear is that should the kit go wrong it is a very expensive door stop.

It seems that their business model is a type of Ponzi scheme. Once people cotton on it’s likely they’ll go bust - and customers will lose money: heed the warning.

Awful customer service. Avoid.

20 days after cancelling order they still haven't returned my deposit. Avoid this company.
I should have known better than respond to an advert on FB advertising an Easter deal. Upon ordering I found my equipment wouldn't be ready until July! I promptly cancelled my order asking for my £200 upfront deposit to be returned. Their contact details lead you to AI customer assistant who duly forwarded my cancellation request to a human. Whilst informing me there is a backlog of customer emails of one week. When i did get a response from the company instead of understanding my request "cancel and refund" they replied

Disappointing stock and service

Placed the order so I could have it for my wife’s birthday. It was significantly delayed and I didn’t get it until a month after her birthday. It was easy to install and worked OK at first. But it has a habit of not sensing pedal movement and therefore not delivering power at the worst times. But now, after just slightly over one year the controller cuts out after about 40 minutes of riding even though there is still lots of battery power. But, they don’t have any controllers in stock, so we have no way to fix it. Very poor customer service, very poor overall.

Unresponsive Customer Support

I ordered 2 kits. Yes, it took a very long time to receive. However, I was willing to wait, as it seemed like a worthwhile kit. During the past few months we were unable to use our bikes. A couple of weeks ago we wanted to resume using our bikes. I attempted to charge the 2 batteries, and a third I use as a backup. No e of them would accept a charge. I reached out to Swytch’s customer support. It took a while to receive a response, which was merely a referral to another department. They finally responded and asked for additional information, which I supplied. Now they have gone silent. I have reached out to them multiple times since 3/19/2026, to no avail. I have spent a significant amount on these 2 kits, and the spare battery, and our bikes are unusable as e-bikes. I must add that we live in a very hilly area, and using an unpowered bike is nearly impossible. Furthermore, I have gone on the Swytch website to purchase new batteries, and they appear to be unavailable. Based upon their failure to communicate, not to mention a lack of viable resolution, I cannot recommend this company’s products!

Good customer service

I recently had an issue with my motor wheel and was afraid that's the end of my swytch kit. Contacted customer support. They diagnosed it correctly - turns out one of the cables was a bit loose. Impressive that they knew exactly which one. Fixed now. Thank you, Maciej!

Kit never arrives

I am beginning to think that this company went bust a few months ago and is now just stringing along the customers who have paid but not yet received their kit. My kit was due to be delivered December 2025, that deadline was missed without any communication, as was the January 2026 promised delivery date, as was the March 2026 delivery date, as I have no doubt will be the May 2026 delivery date. Product looks great, but don't be surprised if you pay hundreds of pounds for something you never ever receive.
