Sydpumpen ripp off!!!
I noticed that our IVT bergvärme pump was not coming on as it should be, so I checked what the utegivare was reading. It was saying that the outside temperature was 65 degrees (which it definitely wasn't), so was therefore telling the värmepump that it didn't need to come on. I suspected that the utegivare was faulty, but before spending five minutes to change it and 449SEK to replace it, I thought I'd better just check it according to the IVT manual which suggests using a multimeter. This didn't show any abnormalities so I thought it must be something else. I called Sydpumpen AB to see if they could take a look at the problem. They said they could come the same day as there was someone working in the area so could drop by. Excellent I thought! A service technician arrived who was very friendly and courteous and saw immediately that the utegivare needed replacing. A job which took 10 minutes. The technician checked the värmesystem, which was fine, and was here for around 20 minutes.
Then we received the bill!!! 2499SEK for 20 minutes to change a 449SEK utegivare!!! The bill was charged as follows:
Work time: 1.5 hours 960:-
Utegivare: 449:-
Service vehicle: 590:-
Tax: 449,75:-
Naturally we were disgusted at this price. We assumed that the service technician would have to drive here and not take a buss, so why should we pay for a service vehicle especially as he was in the area anyway? An hour and a half to change an utegivare?!!! Come on!!
I telephoned the company to complain and their reply was:
They take a minimum charge of 1 hour for work (OK so why 1.5 hours?).
They take a charge for the drivers vehicle? What?!!
I looked at their website and nowhere on there does it state any of these additional costs to the customer. I am disgusted and appalled that a company can charge this much for such a simple job! I cannot recommend using this company and would warn anyone thinking of calling them, to ask for all prices before they send out a technician. AVOID!!!
