AVOID THEIR SYSTEMS AT ALL COSTS !!!
After spending over £600 on wall thermostats and rad valves, Tado have, what they call, "rate limited" their API so my "SMART" (hahaha) thermostats no longer talk to smart home services like "Home Assistant" which I use to combine all my smart home services into one interface.
Most days we now come home to a cold house thanks to Tado saying thats it no more messages between our system and yours today...
All you've done is signed your death warrant as a company, as I will join the thousands of other shafted customers who will never buy your products again.
On top of that i will spread the word on all the forums and groups that your company tactics is to shaft your customers by reducing functionality after you've taken the money.
I cannot believe I spent £600 on your products to have its functionality crippled a year later - absolute con-men
EDIT: I cant believe their response below as the rate limit without paying them a subscription is 100 calls a day - so with 6 radiator valves, 4 room stats, a control unit and a bridge I can talk to my system 8 times a day (once every 3 hours) without paying continuously forever for a thermostat system - absolute con men - the only option here is to undo this decision is to update these devices and allow local only control of all the parameters. Ill come back and edit my review when they do that !!!

Warranty case unresolved for weeks – repetitive and ineffective support
under warranty.
On February 3, I opened a support case because one of the units suddenly stopped connecting to WiFi. A factory reset is no longer possible. On the same day, the chatbot routed me to human support.
Since then, I have not received a concrete solution.
The support process has been highly inefficient:
• I received repeated troubleshooting instructions that were essentially identical to what the chatbot already suggested.
• I followed the instructions precisely.
• I even sent a video recording demonstrating each step exactly as described.
• I was then told I performed the steps incorrectly, without any technical explanation as to why.
As an engineer, I am fully capable of executing clearly written technical procedures. The issue is not user error. The device does not respond correctly to the reset process, which suggests a hardware or firmware failure.
What concerns me most is:
• No structured diagnostic process
• No escalation
• No clear warranty handling
• Long waiting times between replies
• No replacement proposal despite an apparent defective unit
It has now been several weeks since the initial report, and I am still waiting for a concrete resolution. A warranty claim should not require repeated basic troubleshooting loops when clear evidence has already been provided.
At this point, I expect either:
1. A proper technical escalation, or
2. A replacement under warranty
The product concept is good, but the support experience is significantly below expectations for a company operating in the smart home market.

With your new API policies
With your new API policies, you are a disgrace. This is an insult to all the long-time customers who contributed to your growth. Shame on you!!!

Good system
Not easy to set up though. Had to get an electrician in to install it. Also it’s been difficult to get other members of the family set up on the app.
It works very well though and I’d recommend it & I’d buy it again. Just not as easy to set up as TADO advertise.
Once working they are very good
Once working they are very good. I had an issue with the wired connection to our oil burning Worcester that they couldn't fix. I ended up using trial and error to get this working so that the Hot Water part would work on demand. The signal also needed to be boosted as our house has thick old stone walls. Now working it's very good and useful for controlling each room independently with the Smart TRVs. The ability to adjust and turn on and off away from home is initially what we wanted but Tado does a lot more than I expected.
Great system
Great system. Really easy to install and set up with simple instructions specific to your existing controls. So much more control over the temperature and hot water of the house now especially while you are away. Can’t believe I didn’t fit this sooner!
Overall good
Overall good. My only issue is the app. I set it up (I think) but after returning from holiday the settings seemed different! The temp for heating had changed & was staying on all night. Although I seem to have regained control. The daily amount I pay seems to be high. £8/9 per day as apposed to £5 per day. I assume I’m setting up wrong.
Tado - You decide!
I received a request from Tado to revisit my original review but as I was away at the time and so I was unable to do so Trustpilot removed my review, presumably because they deemed it unreasonable.
I will, therefore, lay out the facts and let others decide.
I purchase the Tado X system after discussing with Tado which was the correct system to replace my existing set up.
Upon installation it was not apparent how I should change the wiring on the existing wired room thermostat to enable the system to be used with the new wireless room thermostat.
I messaged Tado with a request for support on 4th February but this was not answered for over 3 days but did not explain how to solve the issue.
Despite several email exchanges I am still not using the Tado wireless thermostat as intended because the instructions I keep getting referred to are for the receiver not the room thermostat.
So as of February 16th I have a system that is only partly functioning as it should with no practical way to solve it other than, I assume Tado referring me to an installer involving additional expense.
I will let others have an opinion on this

Ta-don't
We had a Tado V3+ installed last week. It worked perfectly fine for the first couple of days, but suddenly we lost connection between the WiFi and the receivers and thermostats. As a piece of kit that relies on internet connection via a mobile app to control intuitively, this is very concerning.
The trouble has persisted for days afterwards, with the devices remaining in a state of "pairing mode". We have gone through every single troubleshooting option, whilst waiting for email responses from the "customer service".
The issue of no heating/hot water alone is bad enough, but to make matters worse, their customer service team is non existent. The app directs you to a chat-bot and after several questions, exits the chat and leaves the customer with no help whatsoever. I never usually leave bad reviews, but this experience has left me incredibly disappointed with the product and services that I regret even considering Tado as an option.
Please, if you are considering buying a Tado, read reviews and make the smart (unlike their products) decision of buying elsewhere. Avoid at all costs!

Brilliant invention so glad I got it
Brilliant invention so glad I got it
3 days after instillation and it breaks
We had the Tado V3 installed this week and on day 3 we lost all connection. No support whatsoever. You don’t get a manual, have to rely on troubleshooting. When you try to contact them you just get a bot which signs posts you back to troubleshooting. We have no heating or hot water. Customer service a joke.

I spent £800 on Tado equipment and now I have no heating
I spent £800 on Tado equipment for my new boiler last year. There are many problems with the kit and usage but now, with the first really cold weather, the system left me with zero heating (8 Tado-controlled radiators, boiler working fine).
I had hot water but after repressurising the boiler none of the radiators worked. Tado help circles back to the app. Promises of even emergency help circles through pages and a chatbot that has replaced human contact and that allows selection of non-relevant questions. After struggling with the app for an hour and a half, it said a human would email me with support. After several days I contacted my plumber who fixed the problem quite quickly. Tado eventually emailed me even later. It was a polite email.
Let's look at the good and the bad...
(This is based on my full tado installation from a well-respected plumbing company installed one year ago. It links to the router and has an attachment which is mains-wired to the boiler as well an apparently redundant temperature sensor as all the individual radiator controls have their own sensors, independent of the separate one in the hall.)
The good is mostly what it promises and, under certain conditions delivers at least some of it. The basic functions of the app are easy enough to set if you can sidestep the unwanted and less reliable ones.
It is very convenient to alter the radiator setting from the iPhone app, especially if you have several and your radiator control knobs are almost floor level (Though hardly worth the £800 installation -- and that is just the cost of the hardware, not the cost of the wiring and initial setup). If you pay extra, you can switch heating on before you get home. There are many other things like auto-adjust for windows left open (in practice it often 'senses' a window open if a door is left open, so disable). It will also claim to make auto adjustments according to the official weather (unreliable even if it works, as weather forecasts are none too reliable where I stay), and check your bills or something like that which I haven't tested.
The bad is much longer but I will highlight. I have already mentioned I am currently without heating as the (hardwired) Tado link to the boiler seems to be malfunctioning. The Tado link has several symbols and buttons, barely decipherable, but no reset that will make the system work as far as I can see (yes, I have tried).
There are two types of radiator thermostat controls -- if you can, I suggest the ones that light up on the top if you are determined to buy Tado and they fit your radiators. Mine have barely-readable markings on the lower part of the cylinder. They light up when changing temperature but you need to be close enough to read them.
The whole system comes without a manual. The web page directs you to the app or, like the app, sends you through a flurry of pages that probably won't answer your question. You are more likely to get an answer on a well-known social news aggregation site. The chatbot is similarly incompetent, asking you to choose between non-relevant questions. There is virtually little or no human backup (It promises answers and emergency assistance, but doesn't really deliver).
The technology is impressive-sounding, but badly built and pretty obsolete. There are many wifi and network systems that don't require such a messy system to navigate. e.g. My Wi-Fi printer works seamlessly from any device. I can control my Wi-Fi TV from my iPhone or my desktop. Even without an extender, my Wi-Fi is easy to use in any room, whereas the Tado radiator controller that is most distant from the router struggles, gets the temperature wrong, or simple doesn't do anything.

Really good products
Really good products, well thought. I think best on EU market
This product is of inferior quality
This product is of inferior quality, in all aspects, design is basic, and contains dated tech. Materials used are flimsy and very low quality. Reliance on radio frequency bridges to attain a web connection, really this day and age?. We live in a modern house detached with stud partition walls, the house is of average size so there is no reason for connection problems. But the bridge couldn't maintain a reliable connection to the receiver, no more than 20m away. The Tado help pages suggests, raising the height of the bridge, but Tado only supply a power usb cable 250mm long and a ethernet cable of the same length. Then when consulted suggest moveing the device, but it needs to be plugged into the router. Fortunately our system has 2 routers, so I was able to try a different location now directly above the boiler interface. This did not improve the connection at all. I'm returning the product as unfit for purpose. RF technology can be reliable as Salus products prove daily.

Heating and eating worry free
This system where one is able to make savings and receive payments for power transferred gives me peace of mind and am able to keep a warm house without concerns as to wether I can afford to heat and eat.

Really like our Tado heating control…
Really like our Tado heating control unit.
Over the course of a year it has worked well, can even advance the temperature in 1/2 degree amounts. It keeps the room it's in very close to that setting.
We have lost "connection" just a couple of times, but can easily be reset. Can even adjust heating settings away from home, ready for when you get back. Would recommend
Subscriptions unacceptable
We purchased many radiator thermostats to modernise our heating system. They’ve always worked well. But the recent shift to a subscription model to use expensive hardware which was bought beforehand is utterly unacceptable, locking many of the previously standard features. I would not recommend building out a Tado system!
