Subject : Visit today 10.35 for a simple but very painful gencive infection
I feel I need to remind you people at Tandlæge vagten that your job is to service and help people in pain as it looks you have all forgotten the basics of treating patients.
This visit was the most unpleasant experience ever from a dentist. As it to do with the fact that it is a state organization ? Or maybe the wrong people ? Has their job become a routine ? Are they not happy to work on a Sunday ? Or what is it ?
No empathy at all from reception to the assistant to the dentist herself …Let me tell you that from a patient point of view you all need a strong reminder to behave properly . It was like Russia in the 70 'S !
At the reception the tone is not very pleasant – Why does it have to be like that ? It is like the patients are a pain in the neck --- but remember the patients pay your salary or at least contribute to it so a smile and some consideration would not hurt. Behind the glass door because of Corona and behind the glass at the counter for the payment is no excuse to hide and not being friendly. It is bad enough to be in pain we don’t need further “punishment”. Just a little smile bloody hell !!
And now to the clinic part… OMG the minute you sit in the chair you lose all your rights… the “professionals” take over and you just can keep your mouth shut … but it is my teeth, my health, my money so I have every right to say yes or no or get whatever I want.. The dentist in question, an older very arrogant and ice cold lady, insists in doing it her way so I had to fight not to get an extraction as I was not ready for that but just wanted the abces to be treated. I had to take a picture although it was obvious where the infection was and then without asking an anæstesic injection which by the way was very weak and was gone after 10 min (?) so you see 163,87+ 250 which, if I had to decide, was not necessary. And then 360 to just make a cut !! 763,67 as extra for the week-end . I came at 10.35 paid at 10.42 so an outrageous 1527,34 tht for such a simple job makes a salary per hour of 13.000 dkk ! to be fair taking into account the 750 salary only is 6.427 dkk. Per hour !! No wonder people cannot afford to go to the dentist in DK and seek other countries for their big jobs.
As a favour and for th price I asked for an extra little job i.e. to fix a crown which was loose but was told to go to my own dentist for that although it would take a few minutes only..Too much work I guess pffff shame on you.!!
Anyway to make a long story short this was a very very bad experience .. Is it greed ? a way for senior dentists to complete their pension by working on Week-end shift ? I would not be surprised. Some older dentists are still behaving like the old days i.e show strong authority but they must realize that times have changed and people demand to be treated properly and not always be afraid of the dentists various tricks to make more money. I feel cheated.
I have seen that there are now private Tandlægevagt and you can be sure you will not see me again
Probably this little speech will not help, probably I will never get an apology but it feels good to make my point..
