Super fast delivery - super friendly - super service

Super fast delivery of examples to decide on ordering. Super fast delivery of the entire order within the next day, including friendly and supportive service by phone. As I did order more than I finally used, I've got my money back for un-used wallpaper within one day after returning.

Quick delivery & good quality

I ordered samples a while back, and they arrived quickly, and presented well with an accompanying letter. I decided to buy two of the wallpapers, and got confirmation of shipping the same day. The parcel arrived a few days later. Although we've not hung the wallpaper yet, it appears to be good quality.

Overall I'd recommend!

Delivery took 7 days instead of 2-3days / custom fees had to be paid afterwards

Delivery took 7 days instead of 2-3 days as expressly indicated on the website. As I needed the wallpapers quickly before moving into my new place, I had even called the company prior to ordering to confirm that delivery would indeed take only 2-3 days, which the customer service expressly confirmed. Also, UPS has asked for 40 chf for customs in order for the parcel to be delivered, which was not transparently indicated on the website - it was not clear that parcels had to cross the country boarder. Customer service (Sven Rohleder) was rude and denying any wrongdoing of their part.

Dear Viola, thank you for review. We would like to clarify what happened: you called our office enquiring about Express shipping and how long it would take if you ordered the same day as you told us you needed our wallpapers as quickly as possible. You then waited one day before ordering and decided to choose “standard delivery” nevertheless. We shipped your order on the very same day upon receiving it. Normally it takes two to three working days even with standard delivery, as indicated on our website. Unfortunately, on the very day (Friday) it was shipped new strict corona rules came into force in Germany and impacted UPS logistics, resulting in one extra day delay. This is unfortunate and we apologised to you for it, but obviously beyond our control. UPS tried to deliver it to you twice, on Wednesday and Thursday. In both cases no one was there to receive the parcel and no instruction were left to UPS carrier for alternate delivery points. The parcel was finally delivered on Friday. All orders coming from outside Switzerland are subject to Swiss customs. Therefore, our prices for Swiss customers are not charged VAT. This is the law of the land in Switzerland, as the country is not part of the EU single market. This is clearly stated in our FAQ and we also told you on the phone when you called us. As it’s the case for all companies not based within the Swiss confederation, it is not something we can affect.

Our goal is to make sure our customers are satisfied with their purchase. For this reason, we apologised for the inconvenience and offered you a full refund. We understand your decoration plan didn’t go as expected and our offer for a refund is still standing.

Arrogant and condescending!

We have previously had positive and satisfying experiences with this company, but our latest interaction with them blew our minds and made us decide on NEVER to do any shopping here again whatsoever!!

We ordered a very expensive wallpaper from this company and had a sad sad unlucky misfortune of our wallpaper-hanger turning it upside-down on the walls of our whole bedroom! Yet, the motive wasn't 100 procent easy to tell upside-down, since it was somewhat abstract and furthermore, the wallpaper were actually rolled contrary to logic and common direction, whereby one could think the company would have a fair reason to see their partial responsibility for this misfortune of ours.
At least, we tried to write the company, and described for them our sad situation. The response from the company/Sven Rohleder was chokingly awful, full of an intense tone of condescending ridicule!

I had asked several professionals, within the field, about the comme-il-faut about the rolling of wallpapers; their typical response was that normal custom is upside-up, yet they admitted, that one cannot be certain of this to be the case. Therefore, we admit it was a mistake that our painter did not check twice or ask us beforehand, instead of going by the usual logic of rolling-direction, but Sven frankly and rudely described him as a total id.. for having made the mistake of turning the pattern upside-down!

We were very sad and devastated to have had this misfortunate loss with the wallpapering process of a very expensive wallpaper and the arrogance and condescendence of Sven Rohleder most certainly added to our discomfort. Not only did he shake of any responsibility, he failed to show the slightest touch of understanding and empathy for our loss. His response was on the contrary full of negative exaggerations and sarcasm and intensely intending to ridicule us and our painter/wallpaper-hanger!

After this we will make sure never again to do business with this company "Wallpapers from the 70s" or "Tapeten der 70er", and make sure to advice others to not risk such an unpleasant experience either!

We are really sorry if you perceived our answer to be not of your satisfaction, we admit we were taken aback by your demand for a full refund of all seven rolls. The order in question was for floral wallpaper, one with tulips on it. Your installer hung all seven rolls upside down without ever wondering why the tulips were floating down from the ceiling.

Wallpapers are not manufactured so that the pattern is rolled in one specific direction. It is up to the installer to check the direction of the pattern in order to make sure what is top and what is bottom. This is a standard in the wallpaper industry, and we have no influence on it. An experienced wallpaper installer should be aware of this. Furthermore, we do provide a clear reminder to check for the direction in our wallpapering instructions: https://www.wallpaperfromthe70s.com/lookbook/wallpapering-instructions/how-to-cut-wallpaper-correctly/

Unfortunately, you have most likely been led to believe by your installer that the fault was ours. We apologize if our response didn’t strike the right note. We take great pride in our customer base as we have in almost two decades in business and we are always sorry if the customer is not left satisfied.
