Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 368 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, describing it as unhelpful, dismissive, and difficult to reach a human representative. Reviewers frequently encountered issues with product quality, including receiving damaged, used, or defective items, and found the staff to be unprofessional. There were also numerous complaints about online orders, with items missing, incorrect, or not delivered as expected, and a general lack of accountability for these problems. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that prices were reasonable and that it was a good place for household items, with some even finding the employees helpful and polite.

I went to buy a Lego set and it was in the total wrong spot so I thought I was buying a $40 Lego set when it was really $60! Maybe get your prices right. It’s misleading and rude.

Be Aware

Be Aware ! Went to the target location in bronx at Exterior street early Tuesday morning with only a few customers shopping and all the items I went to purchase wasn't in its proper location. Things were left in the wrong location with the wrong price tags so I had to price check all my items before going to check out this is so annoying considering most stores before closing the night before will place items in the correct location I guess not this store I will continue going to the location on 225th street...less headaches

Don’t use targets credit card

Chase sent a payment to target that they never received. No problem, right? We proved the sent payment and resent. They credited the late fee but said they can’t refund the $6.00 interest. It is only $6 but I am a senior on a limited income. I refuse to pay it. There goes my high credit score. I don’t care! I am not paying!

Target Company offers Poor customer Service

Target Company offers Poor customer service specially if you have to make a return! It seems Target customer service employees are poorly trained and impatient, with terrible attitude! I only had to make one return to realize this fact! I will never buy from this company again. Walmart, Kohl's,Home Depot, Costco,Sam's Club, and Marshals are among the best for good prices, and excellent customer service.

The Target Local Delivery is horrible

The Target Local Delivery is horrible. They cant seem to read an address and instructions on where to deliver. Never have this issue with Amazon, UPS or FedEx. If Target wants to use local delivery then they need people who can figure out how to actually deliver to correct addresses. Very bad customer servive.

Do not honor their return policy, even if it is clearly stated online

I purchased some swimsuits on target.com. On target.com it says that there is a 90 day return policy. When I went into the store to return my items it said they are no longer returnable. Apparently there is a target plus.com that is not clear when you’re checking out that has a completely different return policy. I was 5 days outside of the 30 day return policy. they would not give me store credit. On top of that the woman on the phone was extremely condescending and rude. I have stopped purchasing items in store and will now stop purchasing online. I was a loyal customer of target for decades. I’ve seen a slow decline, which is why I don’t shop and store anymore and now I will not be shopping online.

I'd come back

Came in looking for some basics and ended up spending way more than planned lol. Good selection, prices are fair. The guy at the fitting room was super helpful when I needed a different size.

Only thing that annoyed me - the self-checkout was a mess, like 6 machines and only 2 actually working. Had to wait forever.

But overall yeah, I'd come back. Just not on weekends.

I recently bought an LG Tv

I recently bought an LG Tv , 65 inches because my husband is mostly blind but could distinguish some things on this screen in particular. The screws and legs were not sent in the package. The store would not supply the missing parts . Our only offer was to return the tv (60miles away) and we do not have a truck. We were appalled by the customer service.

I used to enjoy shopping at Target…

I used to enjoy shopping at Target, but over time it has become increasingly difficult to justify going there at all. The pricing has drifted so far out of alignment with the actual quality of the products that it feels completely out of touch with what customers reasonably expect.

A simple example says a lot. A pair of basic sunglasses I purchased just a couple of years ago for fourteen dollars is now priced at seventeen. These are not premium materials or upgraded designs. They are the same cheaply made item. It is hard to believe that production costs alone account for that kind of increase, and it leaves the impression that customers are simply being asked to absorb inflated pricing without added value.

That pattern extends throughout the store. Many items feel overpriced for what they are, especially when comparable or even identical quality can be found at places like Dollar Tree or Five Below for significantly less. When lower cost retailers are offering similar solutions at a fraction of the price, it raises serious questions about Target’s pricing strategy.

What is even more frustrating is the pricing of Target’s in house brands. These products are often positioned as stylish or elevated, yet they come with price tags that do not match their durability or craftsmanship. It feels disconnected from the reality of what most people are willing or able to spend on everyday items.

At this point, the overall experience feels less like value driven retail and more like paying a premium for branding that does not deliver. Because of this, I have chosen to close my Target account. The only reason I still enter the store at all is to purchase a specific type of printer paper required for my job.

I cannot recommend Target in its current state. The combination of inflated pricing, declining perceived value, and a lack of alignment with customer expectations makes it difficult to see the store as a practical or trustworthy option anymore.

Target is NOT my store to shop at

I rarely shop at Target but my soon-to-be niece has a registry here so I purchased something online for instore pickup. I went shortly after being notified that my order was ready. When I arrived there had to be close to thirty people all around the return/pickup area. It was chaotic. I don’t know what was going on but I left as I had an appointment to keep and could not wait that long. When I got home I tried several times to reach someone to let them know I might not be able to pick up my order by the due date but no one answered and my call was disconnected each time. I tried again in the evening with the same results. Very poor customer service. People can say all they want about Walmart but I have never had an experience like this at our Walmart store. One of the many reasons I am not a Target shopper.

The EVIL self checkout machine

The EVIL self checkout machine was not working and the other ones were having many issues as well, but luckily two very nice employees came and helped me out with it (the machine stayed not working they just redirected me to the human cashier) but they were very nice and helpful UNLIKE THE EVIL SELF CHECKOUT MACHINE.

Looks like Target saving on Bag fees

Looks like Target saving on Bag fees.

Charged for bag fees for online order & store pickup. Sent my spouse to pickup the order, and they denied the bags saying it is not paid for.

THEY ARE THE WORST

This has been one of the worst service experiences I have ever had with Target.
I pay for their delivery membership, yet my orders have been canceled more than three times with no real explanation. You are paying for a service that simply does not work.
I spent hours trying to get help, only to be disconnected multiple times. The representative (Rachelle) repeatedly ended calls and chats without resolving anything. There is no ownership, no accountability, and no respect for the customer.
The entire system feels broken — from ordering to delivery to customer support. You are left on your own after they take your money.
If you depend on delivery, do not trust this service. It is unreliable, disorganized, and a complete waste of time.
I stayed home waiting for orders that never came. This is not just poor service — it is a failure to deliver on what is being sold.
Save your money and your time. There are far better companies that actually honor what they promise.

I normally do not shop at Target and…

I normally do not shop at Target and Today was A perfect example of why I ordered A phone holder and a Swiffer mop The total was 47.00 and some change. I order it because i needed it delivered and I could not get there while they were open. I get a notice on my Phone that they took out 58.00 and some change Which I did not Authorize nor was I informed they do this . So I contacted them and they stated the difference would be put back in 10 business days . and it isn't about the money it is about the unauthorized amount they took and if they do this to every customer that orders how much money are they taking without people knowing. I can pretty much guarantee. that I will not use them again. People need to be aware of what they are doing.

Worst service ever

Worst service ever. They literally had ibuprofen in generic brand locked up. You had to press a call button to get access to a 4 dollar bottle of generic ibuprophen. We had to stand and wait forever and the pharmacy employees had no access to the ibuprophen which is ridiculous. We noticed that the shelves were full, but the store was empty. Now we know why….
