Blasting the countryside apart for overseas shareholders

Always a great place to revitalize the body but more importantly the mind by leaving the car on the road and walking or cycling on the many tracks and green lanes. Unfortunately though the @YorkshireDalesNationalPark have chosen to to give permission to @Tarmac to blast away millions of tons of the countryside (in 2023) and are about to give another consent to do even more. This ruins the landscape, the environment, the peace and the special qualities that the Park should have

Driver in Waterbeach /Cambridge

Their driver in Waterbeach/ Cambridge decided it was appropriate to horn, flash, give me rude hand gestures, then tailgate me for waiting for an ambulance to pass, almost causing a collision at 50 mph

Terrible company would never use again

Charge £20 deposit for each pallet but won’t collect the pallets! Now stuck with a big pile of ugly empty pallets in my very small site and out of pocket for it. A complete joke! Customer service is shocking, just keep getting told they will call you back and never do and eventually they just keep putting the phone down when your number pops up before they even answer your call.

Poor quality

We had a driveway laid with tarmac from littlehampton West Sussex in October 22. In march this year we noticed brown staining on the tarmac and a representative of tarmac said it was an infection and uv would get rid of it in time. In October this year after contacting them again another representative visited saying the was “something going on” he left and I heard nothing until I spoke to the contractor who told me tarmac considered it a closed case. Beware this shower of ignorant individuals and company that’s likely to provide sub standard materials.

Shysters

Do not deal with this crowd of shysters. Rude, disrespectful, dishonest. Absolute pile of bottom gravy of a company.

Aggressive HGV driver with "Mike"…

Aggressive HGV driver with "Mike" number plate on his dashboard decided he didn't like me Merging in front of him at a roundabout. He then decided to shout, swear, beep his horn several times and then aggressively follow me in his HGV so close to my rear bumper to intimate me. Very aggressive for no reasons what so ever.

Tarmac as company are very dishonest…

Tarmac as company are very dishonest and not organised. As I am teacher tarmac workers were tarmacking the road outside the school where I work. As leaving work at 3:30pm tarmac workers said the tarmac was dry to travel, on traveling home I could hear noises which on my return noticed that tarmac had stuck on my tyres. I then contacted tarmac and which they said they didn’t feel they were liable as the tarmac was dry but still have failed to indicate to me why tarmac was on my tyres. I’ve been waiting for a reply for over a month had nothing since.

A Dishonest Company

Untruths, untruths, even to the fact that Tarmac hid vital information and Dashcam footage from their Solicitors.
You can not trust Tarmac and they have the power to ignore the facts of their unlawful practices.

Churned up my lawn on their way to deliver to a neighbour. Still waiting 3 months later for someone to come and repair the damage. No apology and clearly don’t care about their staff as left it to the driver to sort the problem, still waiting!!!

If u r a class 1 driver, go elsewhere!

One of the worst companies to have ever contracted work as a class 1 walking floor driver & the experience unfortunately has been a very bitter one indeed! I contracted work from their Mount Sorrel quarry in Leicester for a franchise haulier.Blatant racism & favouritism is the order of the day here amongst the weigh bridge staff which predominantly is run by whites. Never ever seen any BAME individual ever on their weigh bridges & do ask them through Right to Freedom of Information Request how many BAME individuals r actually in management roles?’White privilege’ is the order of the day & harassment & belittling is the norm followed day in & day out at Mount Sorrel definitely if Keith on nights (now working days during school holidays) is seated there & calling the shots!Absolutely shocking how lorry drivers r treated like dirt whilst they r the backbone of their business.Happened to confront weigh bridge staff at Mount Sorrel for blatant favouritism over allocating loads & boy, I did happen to rattle their apple cart! Every sinister trick in the book was played to prove me wrong & infuriate me just to get me banned from site & company anyhow.Just walked away bc it’s not worth it! Far better wage packets with respect offered elsewhere in the driving industry. Sales team members r helpful who provide the work & so r shovel drivers across the board.Never had any problem with them.UK is already in a massive crisis of supply & demand of lorry drivers & such bigots & racists I have come across whilst working here will only worsen the situation. Definitely stay away if u r an experienced driver & got some self respect! Mark my words !
