Best way to file taxes
I have tried several websites / apps for filling taxes. I always come back to Tax Act. It's among the easiest to use. It's also the most transparent when it comes to fees and charges. I highly recommend!

I am frustrated with TaxAct
I chose TaxAct for the first time because of its excellent reviews, but my experience was deeply frustrating. I spent four hours trying to complete my tax return, yet the issue was never resolved. The software defaulted to incorrect tax payment entries, and as my expenses lowered my expected refund, the system replaced and ignored other tax deductible entries so that my tax liability increased. In the end, I abandoned TaxACT and turned to a real tax in-peraon preparer, where I could ask questions and receive clear answers in person instead of depending on this AI, and get my refund. Based on my experience, users should be very cautious about using this platform for the 2025–2026 tax filing season.

Yvette was so kind and helpful. She helped me understand a service I had mistakenly signed up for and obtained a refund for me because of my confusion. She also, thank God, told me my taxes had not been filed. I was unaware of that. I am so grateful to her.

My experience was BEYOND FRUSTRATING
My experience was BEYOND FRUSTRATING! TaxAct kept freezing up forcing me to CONSTANTLY have to refresh! And at times it would just log me out because it would freeze up for so long. It took me waaaaay too much time to file my taxes. It took more than an hour due to this inconvenience. I don't think I'll be returning next year.

I used to take pride in doing my own taxes, "saving myself money", but not this time. The amount of my return isn't worth what they wanted for doing them with their software. This is like my 4th or 5th year with them, just say I'm not happy.
