Taxevo has absolutely exceeded expectations when it comes to how much they really do care about their customers and clients. After a bad experience with another company I was recommended to Taxevo accounting and they’ve jumped through hoops to provide the upmost support to myself. Highly recommended. If could give more stars I would! They deserve it!

You will struggle to find a worse accountant in the UK.
Taxevo is a truly shambolic accountancy firm, they are bordering on negligent. Here's why:

-They are never proactive and have to be reminded to submit crucial accounting documentation such as company filing (which if left, leads to company closure)

-They frequently miss details on corporate and personal tax returns, leading to fines from HMRC and unexpected costs.

-They frequently offer the wrong advice i.e. I was advised on a capital distribution to close my company, which when checked with a properly trained accountant informed me this was totally the wrong approach.

I am tempted to take Taxevo to small claims court due to the number of mistakes and negligence shown toward my company and personal tax situations.

Avoid at all costs.

Having used Taxevo for a couple of years to look after my company accounts I can confirm my experience has been absolutely terrible, there has been mistake after mistake and when I've chased up there was a lack of response. Please stay away from Taxevo, they may be cheap but it will likely end up costing you significantly more when things go wrong!

It pains me to write negative reviews, but I feel compelled to warn others about my experience with TAXEVO. While the staff may be well-intentioned, their service fell catastrophically short of professional standards.
As a sole trader, I sought their guidance on transitioning to a limited company. Their advice to wait until the next tax year—regardless of income thresholds—has directly resulted in substantial and unnecessary tax liabilities. This fundamental misunderstanding of basic tax planning has cost me thousands.
Their negligence reached new heights with my VAT registration. Despite my constant follow-ups, they repeatedly claimed they hadn't received my VAT number from HMRC. Each time I inquired, they acted as if hearing about it for the first time. The truth emerged only after I switched accountants—HMRC confirmed they had sent the VAT number SIX MONTHS earlier. The result? Avoidable late payment penalties and interest that TAXEVO has made no effort to compensate.
Their communication is equally abysmal. Reaching anyone for updates requires persistent effort, with emails and calls routinely ignored for weeks.
I've since moved to a competent accountant who resolved in days what TAXEVO couldn't manage in months. The stark contrast in professionalism is telling. Save yourself the financial damage and frustration—look elsewhere for accounting services.

Been with Taxevo for maybe 2-3 years now and the service to begin with was ok. This year it has been awful my accountant emailed me one day before my corporation tax was due which left me no time to check over anything or update my accounting software. I emailed him to address this at the end of July it’s now the later part of November I’ve emailed and called many times and have had no response. The reception team appear to attempt to call and then come back each time to say no one’s available.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

I read the reviews prior to intro meeting which weren’t good but I’m skeptical about reviews so decided to give them a chance, well 3 months later this below copied review is exactly the same as my experience.

Paid this company for around 3 months, never received replies to my emails, didn’t register me for HMRC, useless! The only time I heard from them was to pay my direct debit each month. I called twice to cancel and no one would speak to me, sent several emails to advise I won’t be continuing with them and the only response I got was that my direct debit was due that day and could I please pay for that month - of course I did not pay and no one bothered to email me back. Don’t waste your time.

Keep well away from this so called company they are simply ripping people off.

I wish I read the reviews before engaging Taxevo... Regretfully, Marc is in fact still running the company and I was advised by the Group Head of Client Services for SG Accounting that 'he is the director and there is nobody more senior than him' to handle my complaint. This is in direct contradiction to Taxevo responses on here stating that this company is now under new management.
My experience is very much in line with what so many other people are saying - there were no quarterly personal tax reviews and I got hit with a major personal tax bill I didn't expect. There is a significant discrepancy between my company accounts and HMRC accounts in terms of the refund due. He completely messed up my payroll, didn't even know and when I alerted him to him I had to explain to my very accountant what was wrong because he didn't know.... I couldn't get a response to my queries from Marc unless I threatened a formal complaint. I could go on.... It was just shocking and I feel really annoyed that there I have no actual means to hold him responsible for any of it. The way he operates is the most unprofessional, disgraceful of ways I could think of. If that's an experience you are looking for - definitely hire Taxevo.

Absolutely awful

They're very cheap but you can't get in touch with them. They won't answer e-mails or return phone calls.

They claim, "Taxevo is now under new management (since January 2023)" but there's no evidence of this at Companies House and the Directors named there don't appear on the company website (and vice versa).

Consistant high level of service over 4 Years. Taxevo and more importantly the people, with Marc Seymour the Client Director for my Companies accounting (and personal Tax for the Directors). The combination of a great online accounts package offered by my bank (FreeAgent) and then engaging Taxevo, an expert in Freeagent has made running the day to day, and critical accounting events run very smoothly. Whenever I have had a question sometimes seemingly simple or probably stupid, Marc has always responded quickly with an answer. This has enabled me to focus on my business with a small percentage of time needed to manage the finance. Taxevo set up the payroll for each year, sometimes after a discussion on how best to manage salary and dividends payments the most efficiently. There has been no limit imposed as to how many of calls or meetings. The fact is Taxevo are there when you need them and offer great advise. My business is simple as I have a limited number of clients but I believe that my opinion would have not changed had my company been more complicated in its structure, size etc. The other comforting aspect is knowing what your annual fee's are and these are paid Monthly by direct Debit. The only extra expense is where Taxevo would pass on, at cost items like the fee for Filing of Company Accounts. I have indicated my desire to retire shortly and Marc has assured me that when the time comes he will work with me to manage the process of closing the Company, again most efficiently. The final benefit is that Marc is happy to put together a package to manage my personal tax issues/ returns when I retire so I will have continuity of support. I would whole heartedly recommend without any reservations.
