Once personal profile is up and running applying for assisted jobs is a breeze and fully supported by a Teacher Horizons Rep. I have worked with the same person for several years and you feel like there is a personal connection there too. Each time you want to find a new job, you only need to update your profile and the information is there. Even unassisted schools are good as their profiles offer extra information such as class sizes, salary scale, turn over of staff etc. But how complete these are depends on each school.

I have 25 years of leadership experience at schools in the US, the Middle East, and Asia. I was searching for a position in Europe, and within 6 months of establishing my profile with Teacher Horizons, I found the position I was looking for ... and was ultimately offered the role! Great experience with Teacher Horizons who guided me through the process.

My agent, Joe, was honest in response to all my questions. He guided me with thorough advice when I asked for it, and he continued to follow up with my new school despite delays in correspondence due to school holidays, etc.

Beware middle-aged teachers

Teacher Horizons seems to be geared towards young teachers. I am in my 40s and found that I was offered lower-paying positions and rejected from jobs for lack of qualifications; jobs which I was overqualified for (master's degree, TEFL, TOEFL, US teaching cert and over 10 years experience). During interviews, interviewers made very inappropriate and unprofessional comments/questions about my age.

When I complained about this behavior, the TH team initially suggested that I put my age on my CV/resume to avoid this issue- a ridiculous solution to a problem that isn't mine. I have a recent photo on my CV. Our age is also on the teacher profile. The recruiter that I was working with individually, was very professional and took my concerns seriously. After having two interviews with school principals that were unprofessional and ageist, I lost interest and trust. I was vetted extensively as a teacher. Sadly, it doesn't seem that Teacher Horizons takes the same care to make sure that schools act professionally as they do teachers.

I’m truly grateful for the support I received from Teacher Horizon in helping me secure an international teaching role. From the very beginning, the team was responsive, professional, and genuinely committed to helping me navigate each step. They took time to understand my strengths and matched me with a school that aligned with my values and experience. The communication was excellent, and I always felt supported and informed throughout the process.

I had an excellent experience with this site. I mostly interacted with Alison and Emma who were both wonderful. This is my first international teaching job, and Alison was very responsive and answered all of my questions, while also offering advice. In the end I found a school that I feel is a good fit for me and that is also providing with with some great opportunities for growth. I would use this organization again if I need to look for a different teaching position in the future.

First class, professional service. Highly recommended. Tom Wilde offered excellent and objective advice, recommendations and support to help and expedite my job search. I cannot thank him and Teacher Horizons highly enough. Well worth your time if conventional and direct applications to schools yield no results or go nowhere. I guarantee Teacher Horizons will save the day as they have cultivated strong contacts and relationships with schools they represent and this results in successful well judged appointments with minimal hassle or stress.
