Tesco Credit card

I inadvertently put my credit card into a cash machine instead of my bank card last Monday. On Tuesday I tried to use my credit card and it was declined. Someone did try to phone me Wednesday am but the signal is bad here. I phoned up that evening and spoke to someone but he said that after6 there is nobody qualified enough to deal with reinstating it.

I have tried several times since then, going through all the security questions and then they couldn't put me through to the right person. I gave them times when I could be reached at home on my homeline, still nothing. I was in a shop yesterday that doesn't take ~Amex and luckily enough was able to scrape the cash together but this is not good enough I have just tried to ring again to be told there is a 25 min wait. I have therefore been without my credit card for nearly a week.

I am now Inclined to cancel my credit card altogether and go to another provider.

One star is too much.

One star is too much.

Do not get into financial difficulty and set up an arrangement to pay, because these heartless imbeciles will mark you as defaulted affecting your lives for years. And will mark it right up until the last payment.

They also insult you if you ask them questions.

Think again, every little helps?

Use a different company

Had a letter explaining my contact number wasn't submitted on the form, contacted tesco credit card and gave them the details they required and was told my credit card would be with me within the next 5-7 working days, just received an e-mail saying I've been refused, very unprofessional company, to assure people they are getting something there not, my credit score is not the best but still good, and I have never missed a payment,

What can I say absolutely disgraceful…

What can I say absolutely disgraceful company, got a 0% transfer balance card had it for around 12 months paid every payment early!!! one month never got my bill reminder off tesco app so was a few days late on which I paid double payment and what do you know they cancelled my 0% interest????? in this current financial crisis I was late as there system never sent me my statement! no common sense they never admited there statement never got sent also never informed me via there app or email but sent letters that took 2 weeks to get to me for the extra interest,, prior to that I paid every payment early for all the other months, i just transferred my balance to another provider and got a better deal, also i went to cancel my card but had to print a form off there site fill it in then scan it and email it to them on which 3 days gone but no reply?? I have had cards i have had in the past were i have simply cancelled on the app and within a day its all done it does show how backward this organisation is, tesco bank are not a good organisation and there is a lot better out there i would say they are very underhanded in the way they do things. Be careful with them.

Take money when none is owed

Outdated system that doesn’t work in real time. Transactions are pending for days as are payments to reduce your account. Twice in the past 3 months they have taken the full balance of my statement from my bank account despite me paying in full prior a week before due date. My account now shows that they owe me a lot of money as it has been paid twice! This is despite me cancelling the direct debit after the last time this happened. Still trying to work out where they have taken the money from this time as the transaction is not showing on my bank! Customer service useless and charged me a cash transaction fee last time to give me my money back! Apparently this time I have to wait and do direct debit indemnity as it is out of their hands!?! What I don’t get is why they are taking money when there is no balance on my account. I will be cancelling my card as soon as this is resolved reporting to financial ombudsman.

I recently received a TESCO bank card

I recently received a TESCO bank card. 0% balance transfer from another card. 0% transfer never happened and they have put the monies on my Tesco card without taking the monies from the balance transfer , claiming I PUT a WRONG digit - this is absolute rubbish. They are now saying it will take them 8 weeks to resolve and i have to pay the charges on a card that hasn't done the transfer to begin with. I am reporting them to the financial Ombudsman as they are not adhering to the financial rules of banking .

Be warned Tesco credit card users

Be warned Tesco credit card users. I noticed the last two bills I have been charged residual interest and it is calculated on a daily rate, even though I always pay the full bill each month. This is so wrong and people will be caught out like me. I have applied for another card from my bank, it’s another way of creating more revenue. It’s a bad move Tesco, you’re going to lose so many customers over this one.

PROBLEM SORTED

If I could give 0 stars I would! Tesco are devious and still charged me interest, even when I had paid the balance on the statement IN FULL! What are they playing at? The only reason I paid it (under duress) was because I want to close the wretched thing down.
I thought that ALL cards allowed you a few weeks before payment, interest-free, no matter what sort of card you had! It would appear they charge you for every single days' use, irrespective of you clearing your entire balance before the due date! Surely this is illegal?? YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
UPDATE:
Well, TESCO contacted me and refunded the interest, plus the handling fee of the money transfer, which was a really good resolution to the problem. I have to be fair and say that in the end they did the right thing and that's why I have upgraded them for good customer service.

I have applied for Tesco Credit card…

I applied for the Tesco Credit card with a 100% approval from Experian Credit Reference Agency. I applied for the 30 month interest free on transfers.
Upon application I was given a choice of what terms and conditions and credit limit they could offer me. I was offered the 18 month interest free option once I gave them bank details and the card I wanted to transfer from. So I applied after agreeing to the terms and conditions and it was then sent for approval that has now been declined. Avoid at all costs as this is simply not good for your credit file and above all Tesco have got a bad reputation and seem to reject 99% of applications. (Should have gone to Aldi) Please read reviews before applying and avoid the disappointment.

An extremely rude customer service man. To be fair I’ve not had any problems…

To be fair I’ve not had any problems with using my credit card as I’ve had it for nearly two years. This message is for more about the customer service team and the absolute nightmare you go through to cancel your credit card. Very useless information to cancel your credit card online. And when you go to ask about how to do it on the phone. You have to go through to the fraud team to speak to someone as there is no other option on the phone to speak to a customer service advisor. Even though it says there is, there’s not. Then when you finally get the chance to speak to someone on the Tescos fraud team, you are met with an extremely condescending rude man who is very useless at pointing you in the right direction. Really don’t know where they employ these people from but there customer service skills are absolutely hopeless. I actually can not believe how rude this person was. He made me feel like an idiot and obviously didn’t want to help me. Clearly someone who needs to go to a lot a basic skills customer service training. Anyway people just be aware if you want help your not going to get it from tescos. I am waiting for a reply for a cancellation form I have emailed to tescos bank closure. Literally can’t wait to hear back as I can’t wait to get rid of my account and cut my card up. And will never go with Tescos again as they don’t care about customer service at all. What’s more annoying for me, is that I was so polite on the phone even after being made to feel like a child. I ended up hanging up on the customer service man as he was ranting down the phone at me and I just didn’t want to give home the time of day. He was obviously upset that his life is a customer service fraud operator. But that’s not my fault, that’s his choice. Just be aware people when trying to cancel a credit card. It’s an absolute nightmare.

Useless

Useless. I need a credit card for work expenses. I was asked to provide 3 months bank statements, which I uploaded. Heard nothing further so I telephoned and now, a month later, I'm being asked for a copy of my work contract. I've provided bank statements showing my income! I have NEVER been asked for this level of documentation before, have owned several credit cards and have an excellent credit rating. I need a card as my current card has come off 0% for purchases and I have a lot of hotel stays/fuel costs with my job and prefer not to put these on my debit card. Told Tesco to cancel my application. Absolutely useless, apply elsewhere. Tesco don't seem to know what they are doing.

Worst credit card by far…

I have used credit cards for years and this is by far the worst.
Constant duplicate pending transactions that take 6 business days to clear.
Don’t try and make a big purchase because they block your card in store and then the security team contact you a day later to ask if it was you trying to use your own credit card.
Constant issues trying to do simple purchases online.
Lots of security and app verification needed.
Useless customer service:
I am just waiting for duplicate transactions to clear and then I am cancelling this card!

Threatening letter

Waiting for customer complaints to ring back. I had written letter about "missed/partially paid" payments for the last 2months which they admitted on phone was incorrect. Was told compaint dept. would ring. Nothing from them. Then despite screenshots of the letter to compaints department yesterday still no reply.

Unpleasant online shopping with this card.

For the past month or so I've been plagued by authorisation requests. I get them every other time I buy groceries from Tesco online. It's ridiculous. I've been doing that for years now and with this credit card so why the demands for authorisation?

Frankly it makes a mockery of the convenience of online shopping. Not everyone keeps their mobile phone to hand and even those who do probably don't want to have to keep logging onto a stupid app.

Absolutely problem free.

I had a joint credit card with my husband until he died 2 years ago. I was given a credit card in my own name and have never had a problem with it. Works well with Google Wallet too

Absolutely rubbish

Absolutely rubbish, why did I set up a finger print login when I am now being asked to use my password?... Only for the app to then crash!...
Last year I was sent a postal statement,... I had been paperless for yrs... For security... Same as the fingerprint login... For added security...and convenience. Rubbish frustrating app, I can't wait to get into the app so as to close the account.
