Worst Afternoon Tea ever.

Waste of money for an afternoon tea in Ting.
This was a birthday surprise at the Shard...absolutely awful afternoon tea. Its very hard to find the words to say how disappointed we were.
Dry snd tasteless sandwiches...
Cakes lacking in texture and imagination...one looked heavy and like a poached egg...nothing cakey about it.
Only 3 different types and scones with the worst strawberry jam ive seen.
Even the coffee was transparent and sent back after it looked like it had had a fright...I was told to try it as it was French...it wasn't even a colour...
Would not recommend this afternoon tea to anyone .
My friend felt instantly ill after 2 bites of a sandwich...
When you have worked in hotels and the food industry you know when something is fresh..and this wasnt.
Although the staff were nice once you complain they change...cant fault the view ....
Went home hungry....

A deeply unpleasant experience

A deeply unpleasant experience

My recent visit to Shangri-La The Shard London, located within The Shard, proved to be a deeply unpleasant experience.

Upon arrival, I was approached by a young staff member who proceeded to question me repeatedly about my destination within the building. Rather unexpectedly, he followed me towards the lifts while continuing to inquire about which floor I intended to visit. Such behaviour felt intrusive, unnecessary and entirely inconsistent with the level of discretion and professionalism one would reasonably expect in an establishment of this standing.

As someone who has visited this venue on numerous occasions since its opening, and who has consistently supported the businesses operating within the building, I found this interaction both surprising and disappointing.

The matter was subsequently raised with reception, and after reviewing the CCTV footage, management acknowledged that the individual involved was a temporary staff member whose conduct reflected an excess of zeal combined with a lack of professional judgement.

Regrettably, the situation had already created a level of discomfort significant enough that the Metropolitan Police Service was contacted, and the incident was logged under reference CAD 6784/11Mar26.

One would naturally expect a location as prestigious as The Shard to uphold the highest standards of hospitality and discretion. Sadly, on this occasion, the experience fell considerably short of those expectations.

I trust that management will take the necessary steps to ensure that all guests are treated with the professionalism, courtesy and respect befitting such an establishment.

Good table by window

Good table by window. Fair service but they do not want you at the table very long as soon as you have eaten starter, dinner or dessert you do not get a rest even was given coffee with dessert. Then the price of it is terrible even to change you for the vegetables on top of meat.
Then comes the service charge £50 and still expect a tip. This was window table for two and bill came to £370

We had a great evening. Great praise to Cameron R that helped with buying our tickets and went out of his way to make the experience even better! An asset to the team :-)

View was impressive

View was impressive, but not as jaw-dropping as I expected for the price. The bar drinks were overpriced, and the whole experience felt more like a photo op than something special. Maybe better if you visit at sunset, daytime felt a bit underwhelming.

TERRIBLE AFTERNOON TEA AT THE SHARD, LONDON

My niece treated me to afternoon tea at the Oblix Restaurant at the Shard for my 70th Birthday. It cost £65.00 There was hardly any food and I had to ask for a clean plate after I finished my two small sandwiches because it had coronation chicken on it. There was hardly any selection of teas. The service was terrible. She had to pay an additional £20.00 for a window view which was blocked one side with a pillar. The ambience was noisy. I would definitely not recommend this place for Afternoon Tea. It is definitely overrated. Please do not waste your money.

No response from the Shard.

Really surprised that the Shard managemnet has not commented or been in touch to discuss the negative review I posted 6 days ago on Trust Pilot.
It seems to be indicative in how ignorant the Shard management is in following up on negative reviews of its customers.

Unprofessional conduct

Had a bad experience from a unprofessional tour guide called Mike who was over familiar with my partner. We were enjoying cocktails enjoying the view when he rudely interrupted us asking for my partners name, telling us lewd stories from when he worked on bus tours as he found it a way of attracting women, He then grabbed her arm dragging her to show where Buckingham Palace was in the fog. I shouted him to get his hands off of her! He realised he had overstepped the mark and we didn't see him again. It comes to something when someone like this is trusted to help people enjoy the experience and uses it in a predatory way!

Not worth the money

Booked the restaurant at the Shard on our last visit to London. The charge is £55 per person + 15% service charge £63.25. We had a glass of Tap water, and a G&T each and it came to £92 per person. The food was not very good either. Not worth the money. All in all a rip off.

Aqua Shard,London

The Aqua Shard has some great views at night, and the food and drink was reasonable.
The down side was the poor lighting to the bathrooms, and the service charge added to the bill. Not everyone that eats at the Shard has deep pockets, some of us go for the experience. Please highlight the service charge when presenting the bill so everyone is aware.

Eating at the ASH Restaurant

Eating at the ASH Restaurant, the stunning table view, the enjoyable food, the warm welcome from arrival in the restaurant reception, be being seated, the waiter who looked after my moment there, the two security people on the ground floor of the building who checks you through security whose presence so exuding warmth and welcoming charm and spontaneity, everything was a beautiful few hours of pure joy,

Historians at the Shard

Historians, Chris and Zia, are delightful. Drily funny, informative and very pleasant young men. The Shard is well worth a visit. We arrived, paid £28 for a ticket and had a great experience. The loo with a view is fascinating!!
