After scanning the entire market to choose a travel agent for our honeymoon, it was clear that Nick was the best fit, and his knowledge of safari locations and lodges is unsurpassed. Nick was incredible in planning our dream adventure through Ruaha and Zanzibar, ensuring a seamless experience. We also appreciated the special treats and surprises he helped to secure for us. He was there with us step-by-step throughout the planning process, and very responsible when we had some unfortunate travel delays despite the late UK time. We have just returned from an amazing safari in Tanzania. Apart from the international flights which I booked myself the whole trip was organised by Nick and his team. From the first phone call we felt we was in safe hands, Nick was honest, knowledgeable and helpful and always on hand to answer any question's we had. This was our first safari and we was a little lost with everything. Nick was so helpful at helping us decide what would be best for our needs, we felt like he actually was listening to us and not like other more well known travel companies that just seemed interested but wasn't. Nick was focused on making sure our once in a lifetime trip was everything we could wish for. He helped us out with our own special requirement's, any change of plans was dealt with straight away and also helped with organising that our young 17yr old daughter could join us half way through, this request though was to be kept a secret from my wife as it was a birthday surprise for her. Nick had to send through two copies of everything , one for my wife and I to look at without my daughter added on it, then another just to me with her added. This was no issue. Nick and his team where excellent in sorting out everything. We always felt like we was in safe hands , in every message or phone call we felt Nicks excitement that he felt for us. His knowledge of the camps and hotels was superb. All our transfers and accommodation went ahead seamlessly, everything was just as we was told it would be. I felt secure in the knowledge that if something did go wrong Nick would be there helping out straight away. When we arrived in the camps, they all knew Nick which backed up his superb knowledge of the places we booked. He listened to what we wanted , then together with his advice we came up with our itinerary. When things had to change , Nick would sort it straight away. Nick and his team are excellent and without a second thought we will book with them again. There really is no need to look around if you want to go to Africa, just give Nick a call and your be in good hands. One final point, Nicks prices came back as the most competitive around. So not only did we in our opinion get a first rate travel specialist we got the trip at a very good price as well. Well done to Nick and his team. Asante sana. We will be in touch again soon.

We chose our airline but the company booked it for us. Nick was awesome when things went wrong with our connections and a piece of baggage went missing. He was there for us every step of the way, sorted an alternative flight when one member of the party missed the connecting flight - he totally rescued our holiday. It’s only when the s*** hits the fan that having a great agent becomes important. Nick of the Africa Specialists is a great agent. He advised and booked us into great camps in Mdonya Old River Camp, Ruaha & Lake Manze Camp in Selous. He made sure our holiday was one in a lifetime. Nick was so great at helping us organise our trip. We had never been on safari before, and it was quite daunting to know where to start. From the outset, Nick took time to understand us and our expectations before sending us itinerary suggestions. We had conversations with other agents who only seemed interested in our dollars and who sent us what felt like cookie cutter itinerary suggestions without much thought, and we really felt Nick worked hard to find the best and most seamless itinerary to suit us. He has many years of experience travelling across Africa and recommends properties based on his personal experience which is wonderful. He put together the perfect itinerary and we also felt reassured we had his ear at any time, for any questions. I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend The Africa Specialists and we will definitely be using them again!

From start to finish, Nick provided exceptional service. We started out with a pretty blank canvas, and Nick had lots of great ideas, suggestions and options about places to go and things to see. After our first call, we were pretty much sold on everything he offered. Additionally, very quick and helpful with any queries/solutions we had leading up to the trip and even when we were in Tanzania. You could tell that he would only recommend places that he, himself has been and could vouch for. The honeymoon was incredible, and we certainly have the bug to do more safari's in the future. Amazing trip booked by Nick. The accommodation was all of a very high standard. The guides in the national parks were amazing. I look forward to booking my next Africa adventure.

Excellent suggestions and planning of trip beforehand and everything ran like clockwork while we were away. The guides and drivers they had chosen were all excellent as well. Would highly recommend. Nick in particular was extremely knowledgeable and helpful when we were deciding our itinerary.

Nick was great to work with; very knowledgeable and responsive. This review would be five star if the wildebeest herds had done what they usually do in December! As it was, we had very very long trips in the jeep in search of them. We loved the Asilia camps chosen for us and the Baraza resort in Zanzibar was an amazing conclusion to the trip.

Short internal flights can be changed at last minute and it's a frustration that tour owners can't control but you need patience. Be prepared (research) for the length of inter-camp journeys in Tanzania - very different from our experience in S Africa. We would go with Africa Specialists again; they were very quick and helpful in getting us quotes and securing the dates we wanted and sent the right amount of pre-trip info. When there was a problem to solve during the trip over Christmas, we spoke with Nick through WhatsApp and it was sorted straight away.

The Africa Specialists provided detailed information online about all the options for our safari in southern Tamzania: places to go, when, why, where to stay etc. So we were able to research all the options and then take their advice and discuss with them our choices. They were always quickly available on the phone. And then organised our bookings and in-country travel arrangements. We had a truly magical trip

We would not hesitate to recommend Nick and The African Specialists. We knew we wanted to stay at Beho Beho in Tanzania and Nick organised this and the associated internal flights for us. He was a pleasure to deal with and answered all our questions in advance of our trip. When Qatar Airlines messed up our first flight and we missed our connection in Doha, we contacted Nick and he quickly re-arranged all our flight and accommodation bookings in Tanzania. His calm, positive and responsive manner was exactly what we needed at a very stressful time. We had a fabulous holiday and we are very grateful to Nick for his part in making sure it went ahead (almost) as planned.

Nick and his team did a tremendous job helping to plan my wife's 40th birthday trip to South Africa. Nick was able to arrange an amazing trip within the price point and help with all of the logistics. In addition he was very responsive during our trip, when we had to make quick changes to our flights or travel arrangements. We hope to use his services again!

You know a good travel company when they are willing to give advice over the areas/properties that they think will suit you. I had gone to Nick with an idea of where we wanted to go in Tanzania, but Nick advised Lake Manze and Mdonya Old River Bed camps. Having been on many previous safaris in various Africa countries it was an ask to find somewhere that would come up to previous standards. I also have a mobility issue, and am waiting for a hip replacement operation. Nick communicated this with the camps asking for the room to be as close to the eating area as possible. Although both camps had ways of helping you get into the vehicle once in camp, I did take a small foldable step with me which helped significantly. Nick was quick to respond to all my questions, and nothing was too much trouble, particularly as we booked only a couple of months before going. These two camps are incredible. Both without wifi or electricity, but the care from management is second to none. The food was amazing and although we didn't have specific food requirements, we know some guests did, and they were well catered for. Both camps had animals walking through the camp which was very special. One afternoon we had 20 elephants in front of our tent. You could have the choice of when you wanted to go out; being able to have a bush breakfast and bush lunch if you wanted to go out for a full day. Both camps were managed with a seeming light touch, meaning that staff morale was very high. Nothing was too much trouble for every member of staff. We were celebrating our 40th wedding Anniversary and we were given a surprise evening meal on our last night on our veranda under the stars with animal and bird sounds around us; given security by a Masai member of staff. Complete heaven. Thanks Nick, your choices were completely right.

I have been using The Africa Specialists for several years and have had excellent service. I go on safari frequently and like to plan my own trips but they have been invaluable in their advice and guidance. They send useful information about the country and provide an app for your trip. Plus they make all the reservations and organize drivers, regional flights, etc. There are those on the internet who will do this for a very high price but not Nick and his crew. The pricing is always what is posted by the camps and lodges. I highly recommend them. They are the best!!!

A trip to Kenya had been a long held ‘bucket list’ aspiration for us, but ‘stuff’ got in the way. When we finally got around to it, we had some idea of where we wanted to go. We trawled through the internet and up stepped ‘The Africa Specialists’: Nick and his team were able to offer advice, experience, support and guidance in crafting an itinerary that fully met our needs.
It worked like clockwork, as they and their wonderful ground agents (Southern Cross Safaris) organised everything to ensure a smooth passage through Nairobi, Masai Mara, Amboseli, Aberdare, Lake Elementaita, and Samburu. Internal flights (with Safarilink) were spot-on, accommodation superb, food delicious, friendly and accommodating staff and guides, game drives galore, a boat trip, and the sights and sounds of Kenya were both an inspiring and sometimes, seeing life in the villages, a sobering experience. We cannot fault any of the arrangements.
With Kenya the star with its people, animals, birds, and scenery, we cannot thank Nick, his team and ‘The Africa Specialists’ enough for making a memorable holiday: very many thanks to all involved.

Nick French is highly knowledgeable and following an initial call with him on what type of Safari experience we were looking for, he made some excellent suggestions and then planned everything for us. The safari lodges were great as was the week in Zanzibar. Excellent support from Nick when our bags didn't arrive in Tanzania!

Nick understood immediately the trip we wanted to Kenya (safari and beach) and organised it brilliantly.
We were looked after superbly from beginning to end.
The safari lodge (Ol Donyo) was exceptional as was Pepponi's in Lamu

Myself and my husband are not long back from a wonderful trip to Southern Tanzania and Fanjove Island.
Nick put together an amazing itinerary and we couldn't have asked for more - great game drives at Mwagusi, interesting walks at Kichaka, the lions of Beho Beho, and the paradise that is Fanjove.
All the lodges were incredible, and everything went seamlessly.

We recently organised a trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar with Nick. Originally we have been looking at Botswana , Namibia and Mozambique as options but these were just ideas we had had from reading articles etc. After an initial 90 minute consultation with Nick we realised that actually Tanzania fitted our travel needs and budget for a family of 6 (children aged 9-16) much better. Nick's extensive knowledge about EVERYTHING to do with our trip and all of the other options we had considered were invaluable. He really truly knows Africa very deeply. Our trip was an amazing success and the safari lodges he booked for us in particular were phenomenal . We could not have felt in safer hands throughout and we can not recommend Nick and his professional services enough. In fact we have already passed on his details to friends.

I was referred to them by a friend that had used them prior and she raved about them and her experience.
I wanted to duplicate her vacation, but it was not possible. They came up with a completely different vacation package to accommodate my elderly parents and my gf and I. We loved every single one of experiences in Zambia and Botswana. I highly recommend using them if you are planning to head to Africa. They will make things happen for you.
