Products are not fully as described !
Bought a 19inch mahogany chess set for a summer discounted price of approx £120. On arrival on items looked beautiful.
After almost a month the board soaked up some cold drinks condensation that had accumulated adjacent to the board. The corner of the board then swelled to show the board was made of chipboard.
Contacted the seller who sent a fast but curt reply saying if I wanted a 100% mahogany board I would have to pay 5 times the cost. If the site had advertised the boards as composite instead of mahogany I would have no complaints, but apparently it was my own fault for not knowing that if it says mahogany it is clearly a cheap version of that.
If you want expensive composite boards this is the seller for you.
UPDATE:
After the above review I received a follow up email from the company. They accepted that their initial reply was not the best and apologised. They explained the boards were manufactured following industry norms and were mahogany with a more stable composite to avoid warping. Then today without any notice I received a replacement board (any drinks nearby will be on coasters from now on). The email and gesture cannot go unrewarded so I have amended my rating.
