Work customer experience ever
I have placed a review here as Google won't allow such negative experiences to be shared. The loser in that case is the consumer. Review from Google reproduced below.
Worst customer experience ever: technical incompetence, dishonesty and aggression. Took my laptop into CRC for a cooling system clean and thermal paste reapplication. Cost more than elsewhere locally but have used and trusted this place before (more fool me). After collection, my laptop experienced abnormal idling CPU temps and temp spikes. I contacted other IT shops for an opinion, all said this is not normal (considering CPU type, environment/conditions of use and recent clean). On inspection, the thermal paste didn't cover the whole CPU die (there are also clumps of dust and lint, hairs and a couple of wood splinters inside casing). I call CRC and am told all is normal and I should keep using as I am (despite common knowledge that running your system close to the thermal junction temp for too long too regularly leads to premature hardware deterioration). I requested a refund by email and went into the shop to discuss. The owner acted incredibly hostile, accused me of being ignorant because of my age, admitted (when questioned) that he doesn't practice quality control in his business and repeatedly told me to F off. He eventually conceded that he will give me a full refund if I get another shop to confirm his has done a bad job. Once I had a report from another shop (concluding the issues were most likely caused by the improper application of thermal paste), I went back to CRC to have the owner refuse to honour his own words and tell me he has got a solicitor involved and threatened to call the police if I didn't leave. As I protested, the owner came around the counter and put himself inches from my face and admitted, when questioned, that he is trying to intimidate me. He grabbed my arm and only backed off when I pushed him away. After this I left, saying I look forward to hearing from his solicitor, with the owner following me to the door, swearing and throwing insults. Later the same day, the owner called me, suggesting that the best way to move on and forget everything is to offer me a full refund, which I collected the next day. That man showed no contrition or remorse for his horrendous behaviour but the money back in my pocket speaks volumes. I can only assume his solicitor told him he doesn't have a leg to stand on. To anyone who reads this and still uses this shop, or that man's other shops in Chandlers Ford or Highcliffe: you would do better to go elsewhere. Others provide the same service for less money and anyone who answers the calling-out of incompetence with a lack of integrity, aggression, intimidation and threats doesn't deserve your hard-earnt cash. I have also noticed that the owner often responds to negative reviews, so, in pre-emption of him calling me a liar: you know EXACTLY what you did and how you behaved. You should be ashamed of yourself.
