Appalling service...Diabolical steak!
We have for a long time considered The Derby Arms a 'go-to-' venue for impromptu drinking & dining, which was the tone of Sunday's visit. All started well, until my requested "medium to rare ribeye" arrived, the colour of which immediately declared itself 'well-done'. Not wanting to spoil my Wife's experience, I tried, but not only was it well-done, but tough & flavourless. Eventually what seemed to be a senior female server passed & upon noting my knife & forked paired up beside 2/3rds of my inedible steak, asked "are you finished", to which I said yes & she just whipped the plate away without a mention of why so much was left. When I called for the bill, nothing, nada, zip mention of it, until my Wife forcibly declared "we'll not be returning!", to which the server asked what the problem was, appealed to us to "give us another chance", but proffered no acknowledgement of or compensation for the spoiling of our visit! Awful, r***y awful, save yourself c£120 & the grief, avoid the derby arms for dining!!!
