Awful harassment day and night

Awful harassment day and night, sent all information they requested, bank will do no more as have nothing else to provide. I have sent the same information 4 times but still contacting me at 10pm for it again. I have now contacted the ombudsman.org.uk to get them of my back. 21/2 UPDATE The final response has been sent numerous times and also proof that the other company were never instructed by me as the paperwork was never completed or signed, you have also had that copy 4 times.

Dear Lisa, thank you for your review. Firstly, please note that the latest our staff work until is 7pm therefore I can confirm that we have not contacted you at 10pm. Having located your file, I can see that whilst we were investigating your claim back in 2019, your lender informed us that you’d also instructed another claims management company to represent you for PPI claims. We contacted you on a number of occasions between then and now to discuss this but failed to reach you and as such, a cancellation invoice was issued to you in line with our terms and conditions to cover the cost of the work carried out on your behalf up to that point.

Thank you for now getting in touch as we would much rather confirm the outcome of this claim and remove the cancellation invoice. I can see you've now spoken with a staff member who has explained that all we require is a copy of the ‘final response letter’ that the lender claims to have sent you previously. I recognise that you say you’ve asked your lender to send this to us on 4 occasions but we have not received this information and after speaking with them over the phone, they have confirmed that they will not send us this directly.

In order to resolve this matter, please contact your lender and ask them to send you a copy of the final response letter, then forward this onto us. Once we have this letter and can log the outcome of the PPI claim on your file, the cancellation invoice will be removed and the claim will be updated accordingly. Kind regards, The Fair Trade Practice.

Demanding cancellation money?!?!

How I wish I'd visited TrustPilot before today with regards to this company, so I'd have known I wasn't on my own.
I hadn't heard from them for a good few years, yet, out of the blue I received an email the other day from their Credit Control department demanding payment of £216 as they've cancelled the PPI claim process as I'm in breach of the Ts&Cs??
I responded stating I hadn't heard from them for years and didn't understand what was going on, to be told that I'd failed to respond to any of their correspondence over the past few years by text, phone or email!! I could either provide proof of my change of surname for a claim against M&S or pay up. When I explained that M&S had contacted me years ago to say I didn't have a claim, they said I had to call them to get proof of this.
I called M&S and they told me that my account was closed in 2017 and therefore they couldn't pull any information from it.
I really don't understand what they're playing at, but it seems I'm not the only victim.

Disgraceful company

After no contact since 2017 when they had run a PPI check and unfortunately found that there was no PPI apart from one EGG card account that could possibly have had it . They requested the account number for said Card but unfortunately I didn’t have any paperwork. It was a card I had took out when I was about 19! I don’t know the account number! I had explained over the phone at the time that this was the case . I had not heard from you in 5 years till last night When I got a email to say I had cancelled my claim and a cancellation invoice charging me £180 for sending me a questionnaire and phone calls I have had with them which just didn’t happen .
Now you have given me 14 days to pay this invoice for something they have said I have cancelled which I have done nothing of the sort .
I have emailed them but still have not heard a response .
5 years is along time without any correspondence to then spring a cancellation invoice on someone .
I would appreciate if you could look into this cause I was under the conclusion it was a no win no fee and this cancellation fee was never made clear to me especially since no PPI compensation was ever paid out !
I have sent you a email I hope to hear from you soon on this matter .

Dear Larissa, thank you for your review. Having located your file, I can see that your lender requested proof of your identity back in 2016. We contacted you on a number of occasions between then and now to help you pursue the claim but failed to receive the required proof from yourself. As such, a cancellation invoice was issued to you in line with our terms and conditions to cover the cost of the work carried out on your behalf up to that point.

Thank you for now getting in touch as we would much rather remove the cancellation invoice and see your claim through to the end. I can see you've now spoken with a staff member who has explained all of this to you and you have agreed to send us the required proof of identity to resolve the matter. Kind regards, The Fair Trade Practice.

I received an email stating I owed them £280 4 years after receiving a summary email stating that would be last I would hear from them as all my cases has been closed. The latest emailed states ‘after recent conversations with ourselves’- I have not spoken to anyone for 4 years! I panicked and thought it was a fraudulent email and rang them- the lady on the phone was very very rude even when I stated that this was really upsetting to receive after such a long period of time. She then retracted the invoice. I’m still really confused.

Do Not Use

DO NOT USE
At first they appeared helpful making the process easy. Just sign and they do the work. Received a payout from Egg over 18 months ago for a small amount and assumed case closed.
Now received an invoice from these rip off merchants stating I owe them £216 for breach of contract. How? I haven’t cancelled. I have returned all paperwork as requested and have literally done all they asked resulting in a payout. How is this a breach?!
I should have and will tell everyone to avoid these so called ‘fair trade’ and do it yourself. That’s what they’re expecting clients to do anyway.
How? I completed the paperwork, got a payout and assumed that was it? Apparently no. I now have to prove I received that payout. Egg no longer exist. This company are just in it to rip customers off. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

They claim their commission on gross payout not the net payout you receive. It is like being taxed twice for the same goods.

Hello Patrick, thank you for your review. I’m sorry if any of our staff came across as rude during your claims journey with us. I can see from your file that further information in relation to your claim was overdue and this was the reason a cancellation invoice was originally issued. However once your lender confirmed the product had been cancelled within the cooling off period and no refund was therefore due, we were happy to close your claim down correctly without charge. Thank you for your feedback and we wish you all the best for the future. Kind regards, The Fair Trade Practice

I have located your file and can confirm that we sent your appeal letter to HMRC on the 7th of July but are still awaiting their response. Helpful, honest and no nonsense. My packaged bank account claim went without a hitch. Similar to my earlier ppi claim.

If your already down they will kick you

If your already down, this company will make sure they kick you, and get every last penny out of you.. cancellation fee if £216 after I was made bankrupt and was not assisting in helping them get paid a percentage of my PPI due. Offered to pay the invoice @£15 a month as that’s all I could afford and they said they don’t hold a consumer credit license to allow payment over that amount of time… I could restart the ppi claim with them though and they would delete the invoice… absolute scum

Hello Danny, thanks for your review. Firstly we’re sorry to hear of your bankruptcy. If you are in need of financial support there are organisations that can help such as Citizens Advice (https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/), MoneyHelper (https://www.moneyhelper.org.uk/en) and StepChange (https://www.stepchange.org/).
You are correct that a particular license is required to offer the payment plan you describe, and that it is something we do not hold. Having located your file, I can see your lender requested verification of your identity which was not provided and as such a cancellation invoice was issued in line with our terms and conditions.
We would much rather charge our fee based upon the amount you receive, which is why we suggested restarting your claim and removing the cancellation invoice, however I can see you have chosen not to do this and have since agreed a new payment method with a member of the team. Kind regards, The Fair Trade Practice

Nothing fair about The fair trade practice

Cancellation fee was never explained to me from this company. They couldn’t take my claims any further and basically wanted me to contact the companies which was the reason I got FTC involved in the first place so I didn’t have to be the one to do that. At an already extremely stressful time in my life navigating life for my autistic son. FTC closed the cases. Having heard NOTHING from them in years have I this morning received an invoice for the sum of £456.00 for cancellation! What is fair about this practice exactly!?

Hello Emma, and thanks for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear you are having a stressful time and apologise if we have added to this at all. As explained in previous communications, your claims were closed as address information the lender requested from you was not provided so your claims could not progress any further. Upon review, as per our terms and conditions, a cancellation invoice was issued to cover the cost of the work done carried out on your claims up to that point. I have asked a member of the team to reach out to you and discuss this further with you. Thank you again for your feedback. Kind regards, The Fair Trade Practice.

Hello Vicky, thanks for your review. I have been able to locate your file and can see that we have been trying to reach you by phone for some time to discuss your outstanding cancellation invoice with us and explain how it has been generated in accordance with our terms and conditions.
We would much rather charge our fee based upon the amount you receive, and would therefore be happy to revoke the cancellation invoice upon return of the paperwork we previously sent to you (which can be re-sent should you require).
I have asked a member of the team to get in touch with you via email with more information and you should hear from them shortly. Thank you again for your feedback.

Give them a wide berth!

I was excited at the prospect of a PPI claim but the "small print" regarding a cancellation was not made clear to me. I have now been chased quite aggressively for a fee of £216. In fact, I did not want to cancel. I tried to call several times to clarify what information they needed to progress things but could not get through. They cancelled me! I feel more sorry for more vulnerable people who may have been hoodwinked by PPI and who now feel railroaded by The Fair Trade Practice. I would recommend you give them a wide berth. FTP you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Again avoid or you will be harassed. They have 20% poor feedback it could be you next. No PPI found by them and and invoice for £216 plus extra if you do not pay. Please avoid.

Hello Nerys, thank you for your additional feedback.
As we mentioned in our response to your previous review, the amount outstanding is for the cancellation invoice that was issued. We would much rather charge our fee based upon the amount you received, and would therefore be more than willing to revoke the cancellation invoice upon receipt of the final response letter from your lender.
If the final response letter advises that a refund was made to you prior to our involvement, then of course your claims will be closed without fee and the cancellation fee will be revoked.
Kind regards,
The Fair Trade Practice
