amazed to read the reviews on this place, we stayed overnight in the adjacent lawns apartments, very clean and well well equipped, had dinner in the evening in a the restaurant not the best meal your going to eat ever but well presented, attentive staff and decent value for money.
The breakfast was fine, nice staff good options and again well presented, hard to find fault, overall one night stay dinner bed and breakfast was sensibly priced really suprised by the negative reviews would recommend
If you’re looking for a lesson in patience, The Feathers breakfast is perfect. We waited a full hour for what can only be described as a *mouthful* of food. The toast arrived bone dry, not a hint of butter in sight, the breakfast itself was equally dry, and the mushrooms were so few I’m convinced they were on a witness protection programme. The coffee was lukewarm, presumably to match the enthusiasm of the service, which was just as disappointing as the food. Overall, an impressive achievement in how to get everything wrong at once. Wouldn’t rush back… mainly because I’d still be waiting. ☕🍞😅
Overly priced for mediocre food.
Childs Menu limited and of poor quality and over priced. Mac and cheese - came on its own in a small bowl with no garlic bread for £11. Poor.
Vegetarian option pretty much non-existent.
Tried it, but won’t be coming here again unfortunately.
Don’t waste your time going there, ordered our food but had to wait AGES, actually think they forgot about us, when it did finally arrive wasn’t particularly hot!!
They were apologetic but felt it better to blame it on the new staff!!!
What a shame on today’s visit.
Popped in to have a drink and perhaps stay for Sunday lunch. Stood at the bar with who looked like a manager more interested in pouring drinks without any acknowledgement. A barmaid finished serving a customer and then decided to just leave the bar area without again any acknowledgement of me standing there. She then directed a member of staff to serve me as he approached the bar. At least he had some very good manners. We sat down and as staff served other customers with food orders again no acknowledgement of our presence. We then finished our drinks and left as we decided not to stay fir lunch.
Lovely place and atmosphere but such a shame with the staff attitudes towards customer service.
Had a really nice dinner in there and the lovely Ellen served with a smile
Everything very nice - friendly staff with a warm reception. Nice food only marred by the fact that staff carried drinks to the dining table by hand not on a tray so their fingers were where we would be drinking from 😢! Not best hygienic practice !
Sunday 20th August lunchtime.
I went to the bar to order sweets and coffees. The shift had changed on the bar from the pleasant lady who had dealt with our original order. The lady clearly could not be bothered to serve us. After waiting for ages, I was handled with an abruptness and indifference, the like of which I have never before encountered. We just walked out and went to a pleasant tearoom round the corner.
The quality of the meals did not justify their high price; scampi all batter and hardly any meat inside, sold as wholetail but clearly reformed, and a minute portion of potatoes.
Would never return.
