Booked a table for Sunday lunch during a weekend stay in the Lakes. Food was tremendous but couple of things spoiled the experience - there is no accessible toilet in the pub and my husband struggled massively with the steep stairs to go down to the gents, and although the pub says it welcomes dogs I don't believe they should be in the main restaurant with other diners ( as I am allergic to certain types of dogs) and they should not be allowed to sit on the dining chairs whilst their owners eat. A separate area should be created for guests who wish to bring their dogs to the pub to eat......in my opinion

Service was excellent friendly staff and helpful and food was to die for the roast was stunning.

We were looking forward to our meal. It was ‘ok’. We had to ask twice to give our order after waiting half an hour. My husband sent his chicken salad back as it was missing the majority of the ingredients on the menu. What we did have was good pub food, the rotisserie chicken and the pie of the day and I would recommend those. Good value too. We don’t mind dogs but there were quite a few, and I get it’s hard to be dog friendly and please everyone but maybe limit the amount at one time? Overall we enjoyed our meal, just a few things could have made it better.

Really enjoyable meal. Great food, great beer and great gin! The waiter made some great recommendations and we will definitely be back.
