Unresponsive, Evasive, and Potentially Deceptive — My Ongoing Experience with Fundworks my second loan with them

This is now my second loan with them. On my first, I never had an issue — I was never late on a payment and I paid everything in full. On this second agreement, however, things went downhill after one phone call with a Fundworks employee who attempted to collect more money than was due, and only after I pushed back (and mentioned legal consequences) did she suddenly say it was a “mistake.” That was the red flag that started this entire mess.

Since then, I have been asking very simple, reasonable questions:

How exactly was my current balance calculated?

How were prior reconciliations determined when my payments were reduced?

Why was ACH authorization halted when I never revoked it?

What safeguards exist to prevent “employee mistakes” like the one I experienced?

To this day, Fundworks has not answered these questions. Instead, they’ve wasted my time with evasive replies, CC’d executives seemingly for intimidation, and then completely stopped responding altogether.

As a business owner, I rely on transparency and professionalism from financing partners. Instead, Fundworks has given me stress, wasted hours of my time, and left me questioning whether their practices even comply with California’s Commercial Financing Disclosure Law.

If this is how they treat a client who has never missed a payment and has already completed one loan with them, I can only imagine how they treat others.

I’m sharing this so other business owners know what to expect: when you start asking questions about transparency, Fundworks goes silent. That should tell you everything you need to know.

If you’re small business and run a hard times I do not advise you to use this organization. This funding company or whatever you wanna call it. We paid off a loan two years ago, and the must I say the customer service reps are very, very rude from the owner to all the people that down a very rude they are very yelling at you- Just helping businesses and launching their business and getting them off, this doesn’t sound like a business anyone needs to get themselves involved in. We paid off a MCA back in 2022 and they’re still tagging our business with a negative review. You would think such a big company won’t be so bothered by small businesses.

This funding source is no more than a…

This funding source is no more than a racketeering business; one receives 5-star reviews, which leads me to believe they are paid reviews. This company will force you out of business with its extremely high interest rates and the withdrawals it takes from your business account. Furthermore, they will seek restitution by trying to go after your home and other assets. Instead of a more reasonable payment plan, they will take $2500 plus a week from our account, which is over ten thousand a month. Beware; they are operating under the disguise of a real, honest, law-abiding business. No stars from this consumer.

NEVER do business with The Fundworks LLC

The owner of this company The Fundworks, LLC. yelled at me over the phone because I requested they remove a negative report on us that occurred during the pandemic when we were unable to make our regular payments to them. They refused to help us either defer or reduce our payments and they tried on multiple occasions to debit unapproved amounts of money from our accounts that were totally drained as a result of the pandemic. It's unethical what they do to take advantage of others and especially when they're down! This is a very greedy company who claims to actually want to help its clients but they don't care and they just care about money money money! It's extremely hypocritical that they have a "complaints policy" and claim to "take complaints seriously", but when I complained to them, the owner - rather trying to help - called me and yelled at me for requesting they help us! So much for taking their complaints seriously and trying to resolve/diffuse a matter versus escalate it which is now WHY I am sharing this horrific experience.
