Misleading steelbook promotion for Collector's Edition pre-orders
Pre-ordered 2x Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Collector's Editions. TGC ran a Facebook promotion stating "ALL pre-orders for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced will now include an EXCLUSIVE Steelbook! Existing pre-orders automatically upgraded!" with no mention anywhere of it being standard edition only.
I asked directly in the comments whether it was per item ordered, and TGC's own team confirmed in writing, twice, that I'd receive 2 steelbooks based on my order. I never received them.
After escalating, customer services said the promotion only applied to the standard edition based on the price mentioned in the post, and that their social media team assumed I'd ordered the standard edition since I didn't specify. Nothing in the original marketing stated this restriction, and their team had the chance to ask which edition I'd ordered before confirming twice that I would get the steelbooks.
Long-standing customer, generally happy with service until this — but disappointed that a clear, written commitment from their own staff wasn't honoured, and that the ambiguity in their own marketing wasn't given the benefit of the doubt.

After reviewing your complaint in detail, our position remains that the additional promotional steelbook related to the standard edition product featured in the Facebook promotion, which was advertised at £47.95. The Collector's Edition was a separate product with different contents, including its own steelbook, and its product listing did not include the additional promotional steelbook as part of the offer.
We appreciate that you interpreted the wording of the social media post differently. However, when our social media team responded to your comment, they were replying in the context of the promotion being discussed and were not aware that your order was for the Collector's Edition, as this wasn't mentioned and they do not have access to customers' order information.
We understand you feel the wording could have been clearer and we have taken that feedback on board. However, having reviewed the promotion, your order and all correspondence, including through our Customer Services Manager, we are satisfied that the Collector's Edition did not qualify for this particular promotional steelbook.
While we appreciate this wasn't the outcome you were hoping for, we thank you for your longstanding custom and are sorry this experience has left you disappointed.

Can't beat their deliveries either. Pre-orders are shipped to arrive on release and using Royal Mail. No risk of bad couriers abandoning your packages (regularly have this living in a communal building).
