We're not like other gyms... We won’t tie you into a contract or charge you a fortune every month. That’s because we believe that fitness should be accessible to everybody, regardless of shape, size, fitness level, background or attitude. We’re for everyone who’s had enough of the unbelievably-expensive-monthly-contract gym, or the make-me-feel-judged-the-moment-I-walk-through-the-door gym. Affordable, high-spec, nationwide gyms, that make absolutely everybody feel welcome. Whatever your starting point, and wherever you want to go, we can help.

Great gym
I’ve been going to The Gym Group Dorchester and it’s a great gym for the price. It’s clean, well-equipped, and being open 24/7 makes it really convenient.
There’s a good mix of machines and weights, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.
Good customer service
Have been coming to this gym for over a year now..
All the staff are very friendly.
This evening I needed some advise and the young member of staff was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for him.
Many thanks
terrible gym- wouldn’t recommend
I’ve been a member of The Gym Group in Dorchester for over three years, and unfortunately the standard of the gym has deteriorated significantly over that time. What used to be a decent, accessible facility has become extremely difficult to use due to severe overcrowding. It feels like there is no cap on memberships at all — the gym is busy at virtually every hour of the day, making it almost impossible to complete a workout without long waits for equipment.
I’m aware the usual response will be “check the app for busy times,” but the reality is that it’s consistently busy regardless of what the app suggests. A gym should be usable for the people paying for it, and it hasn’t been for a while.
Cleanliness and maintenance are also major concerns. The toilets are regularly extremely dirty, several door locks are broken, and many of the lockers are unusable due to damaged locks. These basic facilities should be maintained as a minimum standard for members.
More concerning, however, are the hygiene issues in the changing and shower areas. On multiple occasions I have personally witnessed raw sewage erupting from the shower drains, spreading across the floor and even reaching areas near the weights and cable machines. This is completely unacceptable from both a health and safety perspective and should never be happening in a commercial gym environment.
After being a loyal member for more than three years, it’s very disappointing to see the facility decline to this level. Unless these issues are properly addressed, I will be cancelling my membership and looking for a gym that actually maintains a safe, clean, and usable environment for its members.
This is by far the worst gym experience I have ever had.
I have been paying for an Ultimate membership for the past few months, which includes 4 guest passes per month. Sounds good on paper but in reality, it’s a complete joke. The guest pass codes constantly do not work. I invited friends multiple times, only for them to be refused entry because the system failed. It was embarrassing, frustrating, and a total waste of everyone’s time. What exactly am I paying for?
The condition of the building is even worse. Every time it rains, the gym leaks like a broken roof warehouse. There are colourful buckets scattered everywhere to collect dripping water, it honestly looks ridiculous and completely unprofessional. This is not what you expect from a gym charging premium membership fees.
To make matters worse, the gym is frequently temporarily closed because of these leaking issues. As a paying member, it is unacceptable to arrive ready to train only to find the place shut due to ongoing maintenance problems that clearly have not been properly fixed.
For the amount of money charged for an Ultimate membership, the service and facility standards are shockingly poor. Basic systems don’t work, the building is not properly maintained, and members are left disappointed again and again.
I strongly advise anyone thinking of joining this Doncaster The gym to think very carefully before signing up. Save your time, save your money, and avoid the frustration.
Ok but not great
Visited today for a test drive. I found the cable machines felt cheap with a poor strength curve and some felt badly maintained. Moving a bench to the cable area was a pain and seemed frowned upon. The weight plates and dumbbells felt off, 20kg felt like a 15kg etc. Not a body builders gym but seemed good for people training HyRox/HIIT in the open area or cardio.
Staff were rude and no help
Staff were rude and no help. Equipment was dirty and the payment process made me pay twice worst gym ever.

USE A DIFFERENT GYM
Paid for a month membership as I was visiting family in the area over Christmas. The website says to cancel your direct debit and then contact the customer service team to continue using your membership until the end of the month. After cancelling my direct debit (as I didn’t want to be charged for another month) I tried to contact the customer service team with the number online. I got no answer from anyone (on the 27 Dec which is a normal working day) and so could not use the gym unless I paid another £10 for a day pass or pay for another month membership. Do not use this gym unless you want to be ripped off. The equipment is also poor for the amount you pay

Impossible to Contact
My daughter joined this gym. They said they would send her a PIN so she could get in. The PIN has not arrived. They don't take any calls relating to membership queries and when you try to call there is only music. She's e-mailed several times and nothing yet. I'm writing this in the hope someone gets back to her. They certainly need to improve this aspect. I hope they email me and I'll provide my daughters name and hopefully she can get started.

A great well run new gym.
A great well run new gym. Lots of equipment. Classes everyday. The female class instructors are way better than the male class instructors. If you arrive in the evening the toilets and wash basins are pretty grubby and in need of a clean.
Gym is always really cold, a bit warmer would be nice😊

Any chance of a punchbag?
Any chance of a punchbag?
Hi. I would appreciate a specific answer to my question and not a stock response that does not even attempt to address my query. Regards

I go to this gym in Dorchester this is the first time I have been there and so far so good my only complaint would be that the shower rooms have no place to put your cloths while in the showers!
