Several times at this gym I understand…

Several times at this gym I understand there are lessons but the bloke who runs it shouting blasting the music, HOW ABOUT TURNING DOWN THE POXY MUSIC, out of all the, THE GYMS this is only one like this how are others ment to focus with this bloke shouting!!!!

Horsham branch is safety hazard waiting to happen

I trained in the Horsham branch for years. I recently went back on New Year’s Day as my usual gym was closed. I was shocked at the poor decision the staff had made in regards to equipment lay out.

There’s some real safety hazards in there. Some machines are places over a point in the floor where the floor level changes resulting in the machine shifting forward when you put the weight down.

Also the squat racks have been pushed up against the wall to the point where you can’t actually put away your weights which leads to plates being on the floor resulting to trip hazards.

Good gym for starters but for experienced lifters there are better options out there

Poor

Be very careful.
They took my final payment but deactivated my account so despite paying for the month I couldn’t use the gym.

Incompetent and rude staff

My boyfriend who has ADHD and anxiety frequently goes to the Horsham gym as he finds it a great way to break up his day from working at home and get some exercise in. Since COVID this gym has not only gone downhill in terms of cleanliness, the staff seemed to have whittled down to two or three incompetent ‘people’.
Upon my partner leaving the gym, the AGM of the Horsham gym was waiting on a bench round the corner for him and confronted him for writing a negative review (this is the whole point of a review system) and proceeded to say that he had to get his mum to write a positive one to counteract it. Firstly, if you have to get your mum to write a character reference for you then the stuff that was said is probably true. Secondly, if you get a bad review maybe take the time to change and turn it into a positive? Thirdly, as staff you can not wait around the corner for someone to leave the gym and approach them in an aggressive manner. This has made my partners anxiety worse and his experience at the gym even worse also. Upon reading some of these other reviews it seems that the consensus is the same for most people.
His review has now been deleted (not sure why) and the five star reviews on here must be from the staff trying to save themselves from the constant awful reviews they get as this gym is no where near five stars. It seems there is no system or punishment for staff, I’m guessing because literally no one else wants to work there (for obvious reasons) so they keep the incompetent and rude people as it’s probably better than no staff.

Getting past the robot is challenging

I terminated my long-standing contract having found it impossible to get a query responded to or resolved, the on-line response is quick but inadequate. Upon termination the auto e-mail stated "we will miss you", with more human intervention I probably would have stayed...clearly The Gym Group are saturated with paying customers. Oh well, time to find another gym.

Staff do NOTHING but play on phones

I think its a terrible insult for the Gym to raise there prices by double inflation yet every time I go to the one in Crawley or Horsham the staff are just sitting in the office playing on there phones…. NON STOP…
Last week a member slipped on some red liquid that had been near the chest machine for more than an hour. Ben and the manageress did nothing but send text messages over there mobiles during this period.
Ive lost count the amount of times Ive looked into the office and seen what appears like a porn video playing on a phone.
Its not his fault. Hes in a dead end job just trying to make it through the day. But the manageress gets paid to stop these things from happening. The only problem is she spends 58mins of every hour on her phone as well.
I’ve even seen one of them take there phone into the changing room and pretend to be filming his own body. But really the camera was reversed, and he was filming a boy who was naked and below age.
The police need to be made aware of this kinda pedo activity. I cant believe you aint banned filming in the gym completely. I guess the person who is paid to deal with it is also playing on the phone all day long and not protecting the vulnerable people when they aint got clothes on.
Doing private things on a mobile for hours and hours is like from stealing cash from the till. They are getting paid to work, not whatsapp all day. This is company theft and they should be fired.
They have no contact with the people who pay there salaries. Its like they hate us members. They should be banned from the office room. And made to sit in the open and say hello and bye to us when we leave. That is what good service looks like. Not just increasing membership prices so your staff can hide a way and watch videos…You have camera watching us all the time. Put a camera in the staff office and send an undercover investigator to prove all the above. NB. The Gym's response just shows how incompetent they are (why are they mentioning Acton, London in there empty response). And how they are all colluding to hide the fact that pedos are filming in there changing rooms and probably selling the footage on the dark web.

Clean and well equipped gym

The gym is well equipped and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The hygiene standards are very good and there are plenty of cleaning stations to encourage users to wipe down equipment. I always feel motivated to push myself a bit harder each time I visit and the results are beginning to show.
