A diamond in an industry full of rough
I would like to share some very positive feedback, particularly regarding Tom. As a new member, I was immediately struck by how welcoming and professional the environment at The Gym Group Tunbridge Wells is. Tom went above and beyond expectations — despite not even being on shift, he took the time to offer support, answer questions, and ensure I felt comfortable and confident using the space. His approach was refreshingly professional and respectful, completely breaking the outdated stereotype often associated with gym-based personal trainers. Tom was clearly knowledgeable, articulate, and informative, offering guidance in a way that felt supportive rather than intrusive. His manner put me at ease straight away and made my introduction to the gym genuinely positive. More broadly, the gym itself is consistently clean, well maintained, and has a welcoming atmosphere. Even the cleaning staff are friendly and approachable, which speaks volumes about the culture of the site as a whole. Overall, this has been a very strong first impression, and Tom’s professionalism and approachability deserve particular recognition. Please pass on my thanks to him and the wider team. Only annoying thing is you advertise 24/7 but then email saying shut multiple days over Christmas....

Had a guest pass, didn’t work when I arrived, no one to help let us in straight away rang the call bell eventually a girl turned up. Then did my workout which was fine lots of equipment to choose from, when I was ready to leave I couldn’t get out with my code, went to find the girl who let me in to be told it would be 20 minutes as she was in the middle of a class and couldn’t leave. It was ok for the other 20 odd people using the gym downstairs to be left on their own though! She said if we weren’t happy to complain to the manager. Where were they? Only one member of staff on! This is unacceptable! Not happy 😡 This is a brand new gym not a great impression!
