Annie

Katie really helped me give my elderly girl Annie a graceful and peaceful passing at home. The care, compassion, communication and understanding was first class. The process was clearly communicated and I was reassured at every step. I highly recommend this business for when that terrible day comes for your beloved pet.

Care and expertise

Having a dog put to sleep is incredibly difficult but Katie made the whole process as stress free as possible for me and my dog.

You could really see the care that she had and Meg’s passing was calm and peaceful with cuddles and chicken.

I couldn’t recommend her enough. It was the best possible ending for Meg’s long and happy life.

Our Angel Vet

The dreaded time had arrived to say goodbye to our beloved old dog Apollo. Dear Katie was wonderful and she made the unthinkable possible and serene. Our dear boy didn’t have a moments anxiety. Katie gave us as long as we wanted to be with him and it was completely peaceful for him and because he was so peaceful, so we’re we. He just gently slipped away. I will never forget Katie’s compassion and l will be grateful to her for the rest of my life.

Highly recommend this excellent Vet.

Katie has been caring for our elderly dog Holly for over a year now, and we couldn't ask for a more caring, compassionate vet. Whenever we have had issues with Holly's health Katie has been able to see her at short notice, and has always been thorough and conscientious in her treatment of Holly. She listens to our concerns with patience and kindness and is a always gentle, understanding both Holly's needs and our worries. We can't recommend Katie more highly and feel very lucky to have her as Holly's vet.

Keep up the good work!

Katie has been our vet for over a year now. One of our cats was diagnosed with cancer in Spring last year. Katie made sure he still had good quality of life. We saw her every 3 weeks, and she couldn't have been better with him. When the time to say good bye came, Katie helped us all. She was very compassionate and so gentle with all of us. It is always a sad time, but we knew we were in good hands. I had pets all my life, but never a better vet than Katie. We are very grateful to her (and Sam of course). Keep up the good work, we are blessed to have found you.

Wonderful and empathic, would highly recommend.

Our beautiful 20 year old cat unfortunately became unwell and we had to make the difficult decision to let him go.
Katie and Sam were fantastic in supporting us from the moment we contacted them.
Sam offered advice via phone on how the procedure would take place, even asking if our children would be present.
On the day Katie arrived on time and explained what would happen in such a sympathetic way. She gave us all the information and time we needed to say good bye to him.
Our cat was so relaxed having Katie there, no stress was experienced by him or our family, we can’t thank Katie enough for looking after us all.
Since saying goodbye to him we received a lovely card from Katie which was extremely comforting.
We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Katie and Sam to anyone.

Peaceful Passing

Katie first met our beloved Bobby around three months before we sadly had to say goodbye. From the start, it was a pleasure meeting Katie and speaking to her colleague Sam – they made a great team and communicated thoughtfully and clearly about Bobby’s needs.

After careful discussions between our family and Katie, we all agreed that the kindest option for Bobby was to let him go peacefully. Arranging the date for Katie to come to our home was simple and flexible, and everything was explained thoroughly beforehand.

One thing we really appreciated was that they asked for payment in advance, so we didn’t have to deal with anything financial on the day itself, allowing us to focus entirely on Bobby.

On the day, Katie was gentle and incredibly respectful, fully aware of Bobby’s nervous nature. Once we settled him on his favourite settee, she quietly administered a sedative. We were then given time alone to say our goodbyes, and only when we were ready did Katie return to administer the final injection.

Though it was an incredibly sad moment, it was also peaceful – exactly what we’d hoped for. I’m so grateful to Katie for the care and compassion she showed, and for handling Bobby’s passing with such sensitivity and respect.

Thank you

A very loving and compassionate goodbye.

Yesterday (19th June 2025) we had to say goodbye to our 14 year old cat Olly. We wanted his last moments be at home, where he had spent his entire life, rather than be put in his basket & taken to the vets, which is the ione & only time he ever left home & hated.
The Lounge Vet was recommended to us, and I cannot thank her enough.
Katie was thoughtful & compassionate & explained everything. We were not put under any time pressure & she allowed us to tell her lots of stories about our beautiful boy. I even got a big hug when I broke down.
I highly recommend Katie.

We used this mobile veterinary company…

We used this mobile veterinary company to euthanise our dog who had been our family companion for over twelve years. We deeply regret this decision the outcome of which will live with us forever. We were in distress and hoped for a kind, compassionate, professional and ethical support from this vet. Unbeknown to me the vet demanded payment before attending our house...this says it all about the focus of this practice...had I known this to be the case, this person would have not passed over our threshold. The whole process was conducted without compassion and without the dignity that our beautiful boy deserved. We were very distressed as the vet started the process whilst he was still under the kitchen table and chairs...she tricked me into participating in the process regardless of being informed that I was struggling with the whole process. Our boy looked very, very distressed as the sedative was injected, which caused immediate alarm and concern which we related to the vet. After a short while we had to leave the room as we in even more distress. The vet administered the injection that took his life without any family member being present, which continues to haunt us. She had been advised that we did not want to see him left in an undignified position...once she had administered the fatal injection she asked us to come back into the room...to our horror he had been left under the table and chairs and his eyes were open...she had made no attempt to cover him or show any respect to our beautiful boy who moments earlier had been fully and completely aware and alive. When challenged about how she felt about the very challenging events, she replied that she was just "providing a needed service"....ending a precious life should never be described or callously justified as providing a service. I cannot comment on whether The Lounge Vet is a competent vet but what I can say is that this lady should not be involved in the process of euthanasia...she should perhaps go back to basics and remember why she chose to become a vet and not a hard hitting business women. We and the many others locally that we have related the terrible events to locally, have almost unanimously described what we experienced as being brutal, heartless, and devastating...we hoped for a kind and compassionate passing for our boy....what happened as a consequence of using The Lounge Vet has caused immense distress. We have also written a Trust Pilot review for the company that provided the subsequent cremation services...Trusted Friends in Milton Keynes....they are everything that the Lounge Vet isn't but should be. Regardless of the grief counseling provided by our insurance company ( thank you so much Tesco's) and the very kind and compassionate support from the truly incredible veterinary hospital (Davies near Hitchin) who also sent a very kind condolences card (personally signed by all the team and included a packet of Forget-Me-Not seeds to plant....such an incredible and caring gesture) ...we remain devastated by the subsequently dismissive and callous attitude of The Lounge Vet, so much so, we are now selling our house that took 20 years to restore, so that we don't have to re-see the very painful event of Ted's death, every single day that we remain in the house.
