Life-changing service (Architecture consulting with Amy)
I genuinely only have good things to say about my experience with The Profs, and specifically my tutor, Amy, who helped me with my undergraduate applications for UK Architecture schools. Before I started, I did have my doubts about whether the £200/h price would be worth it, but after just the first lesson, I realized that the service was invaluable. After completing six sessions, I felt that choosing to work with her was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life.
Not only did her help with my portfolios and interviews get me into all of my UCAS choices (including the Bartlett BSc), the impact of her guidance is something that I will carry with me way beyond the applications. I have always been someone who struggled with writing essays and expressing myself, so working with the profs really improved the quality of my essays. Before I started working with the profs, I felt very overwhelmed and didn’t really know what universities were looking for. Once I began tutoring, I started to understand the process and developed a strategy for both my Common App essays and my UCAS personal statement, which all turned out to be of very high quality.
I always looked forward to my lessons with Nicholas, my tutor, as they were extremely efficient, informative, and never boring. I strongly believe that without the profs, I wouldn’t have received offers from my dream universities, and I am very grateful for that.

A great experience with a successful outcome
Nicholas has provided thoughtful advices in the selection of the 5 universities (sharing important information which an applicant does not typically have) and providing a very precious support in drafting the personal statement .
Nicholas has gone full stretch to make sure the personal statement would have a decisive impact on admissions officers, also avoiding common mistakes. He had a crucial role in also ensuring the personal statement was perfectly fitting into the degree courses targeted .
And this has proven to be a great help in achieving a very successful outcome for my daughter.

My experience with Shyrose (my tutor was great. She is very knowledgeable, and open minded when tutoring me, constantly asking if im okay with the topic covered. She is always willing to re-explain concepts I dont understand, and uses real life examples and simplified versions of concepts to help you understand them. She constantly asks you questions to keep you engaged but is also willing to guide you through the content aswell.

The rating for the tutor is 5 star
The above-average rating is only because the tutor was good. Unfortunately, the payment system and customer support were extremely poor.
I agreed on a package, yet I was charged the full tuition for the next session the following day. The agreement was that I would first pay a deposit, which I had no issue with. However, there is no option on the website to enter a custom amount.
Since my credit card details were already on file, I assumed that would be sufficient as a guarantee and that the package arrangement would be honored.
When I raised the issue, there was no real attempt to resolve it. I was simply told that future sessions would not be charged incorrectly, but that I needed to pay the deposit first.
I repeatedly asked them to send a payment link or explain the process so I could pay the correct deposit and avoid being charged the full session again, but received no response. I did not want an automatic charge on my card at this point.
In the end, I had to make an international phone call just to reach someone, which likely cost more than the discounted amount I was trying to secure. :)
Overall, the system gives customers no control over payments. You add your card details and only see transactions AFTER they have already been charged. You can't even see which credit card you have on file, because at one point I had changed it and couldn't check if it got replaced.
For a service operating online, the payment experience is surprisingly poor.

I’m sorry that the payment process caused frustration in this case. Our discounted lesson packages are applied once the upfront payment has been processed, so any sessions that take place before the package is activated are charged at the standard hourly rate. I appreciate that the timing of your request over the weekend and the session taking place on Sunday, before the payment was completed understandably caused some confusion and delay around how this would be applied.
We are always working to improve the clarity of our payment process and platform experience, and your feedback about payment visibility and card details is very helpful for our team.

Daniella offered great expertise and support throughout the whole process
Daniella offered great support and so much help during the whole application process. She was very knowledgeable in regards to the requirements and the formal steps needed to apply for universities in the UK. She was also incredibly helpful in the process of writing the personal statement, she helped set up a draft and then we kept going back and forth until the statement was complete. She did a wonderful job in providing feedback and helping me tailor the statement to the university I applied for.
She was always very quick to reply and worked quickly allowing me to keep the momentum going. As I worked fulltime I also really appreciated her flexibility in meeting times.
