We bought 9 Conservation Rooflights for our listed building home in 2004. Within 5 years one of the windows was rusting badly on the inner lower lip with the powder coated paint peeling off. They did the right thing at the time and came and replaced it. By the time the windows were 10 years old 5 of the others were doing exactly the same thing and have corroded badly. We are not near the sea so that's not a factor. These were expensive heritage windows and I would not expect them to corrode as they have. I did call them about a year ago about this to see what could be done to remedy the corrosion issue with rust treatment / repainting but they weren't interested. Based on my experience the manufacturing quality is not good enough. I'm expecting within the next few years they will have to be replaced. The least they could have done would have been to recommend a company that could treat the corrosion, I'm sure I can't be the only client who's had this problem. I think they'd rather the problem got buried.

The windows have been problematic ever since installation in 2015 The rubber seals fell out / became detached very quickly The closing mechanism on roof lights doesn’t work on 2 or of 4 The woman who answered the phone when I rang for help said they didn’t offer any aftercare and to get a window fitter . The last straw is that now I see an area of rust on the corner of one of the roof lights The outer layer has rusted right through I had hoped that the windows would last more than ten years

As a designer, I found their team very helpful in addressing various queries related to the Neo Rooflight—especially their Specification Analyst, who was a pleasure to work with and responded promptly when issues became urgent during construction.
As my home is Grade II* listed, a new roof and several other changes meant historic buildings consent was inevitable. The previous rooflights were badly fitted panes of glass, so I was keen to have an efficient replacement that did not detract from the historic setting. As soon as the Buildings Conservation Officer heard that I was planning on installing a Conservation Rooflight she was happy. I now have a newly laid roof and a beautiful rooflight, complete with high quality brass fittings that allow the house to be ventilated. These rooflights seem to be the only appropriate ones for a historic setting: practical, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.
Generally the 16 NEO rooflights we purchased have performed well since they were installed in 2016. But over the last few years the silicone rubber seals have started to come loose, and in some cases fall out completely. This is an ongoing problem. The rooflights are now out of guarantee and the remedy offered by TRC doesn't seem very satisfactory given that the repairs are only backed by a 1 year guarantee!
I would be interested to know if anyone else has experienced this problem with the NEO rooflight?
