Booked ticket from Thirsk to Manchester…wish I’d driven
Booked ticket from Thirsk to Manchester Airport hours before travel only to get to Manchester Victoria and asked a female member of staff which platform I need. Walked from platform 3 to 6 only to be told no direct trains to airport and to take the tram. 70 minutes later I arrived at the airport having luckily given myself plenty of time. 4 hours 30 mins in total for this journey! I wish I’d driven as I’m going to have the same issue when I return apparently. Male staff at Victoria I approached were surly and offhand. Very unimpressed

Poor usability
First, the app is confusing.
The fact there are walking portions isn't clear. The travel summary is simply crap and not intuitive.
Then, booking a connection eg Manchester Piccadilly to Victoria, not making clear whether a tram is included, and also it's not close enough so I had to book a taxi and sprint for it.
Really, could be a lot better.

Unkind treatment to a pensioner
On wednesday i booked return seats to Edinburgh from Kings X on 17th August. Unfortunately i stupidly booked a train with a stop in York. I immediately changed this for a train a few minutes later with no stops. i was unable to get a refund for the wrong booking. ive been using Trainline for years and am so disappointed. this is a busy time as the Edinburgh festival will be in full swing.

We weren’t aware of the SCNF site and ordered 2 tickets from Amboise to Bordeaux using Trainline. There was a bus to take us to the Tours station from Amboise but when we got on the bus there wasn’t a seat for one of us and we both had to get off and remove our luggage. We had to order an Uber for $50 who magically got us to the Tours station where we made our train with only 3 minutes to spare who earned a generous tip. I know we won’t get a refund.
Train cancelled again - too late
Train cancelled and notification given too late to enable me to catch an earlier train. Now missed a non refundable connection to London and ruined my bank holiday weekend.
