Online delivery 1st Nov stull no order claimed they have moved warehouse and this is on their website and it wasn't when I ordered. Looks like everyone s having the same problem. They shouldn't be allowed to take people's money. Still no refund requested it twice. Won't shop in store with them again either.

The worst online service of my life
The worst online service of my life , I ordered 9 items for stocking fillers on the 29th October, 5 of the 9 items were (after me chasing it up )cancelled due to not being in stock ,for some strange reason these were refunded individually and not altogether, customer service have no clue im fed up of talkingto them theyd rather you cancel your order from the sounds of it ,my remaining 4 items still have not been dispatched its now 11th of November, I've had no update nothing,
Poor staff
I was walking through the shopping centre in Colwyn bay after finishing work around 5.15pm and a male staff member was stood outside the shop shouting across the shopping centre to a guy that works in a shop across the way about how bad sales have been and he’s surprised they are still open, it’s bad enough he was shouting across the shopping centre bearing in mind there is a cafe in between the 2 shops so it’s quite a big space but the fact he was shouting how the sales have been is personal information that should be kept within the company.
Absolutely disgusting delivery time
Absolutely disgusting delivery time! Ordered 12th October and 10th November, still not received my order. After complaining they have refunded my money.....but have to wait 5 days for it. DO NOT order online!! After reading reviews, they should remove this service.
Disappointing delivery
Placed an order, wasn’t until k received the order confirmation that it said 7 WORKING DAYS for the delivery. Surprise surprise it hasn’t arrived. Contacted customer service, offered me a refund or I could just wait a few more days to see if it’ll arrive however they did inform me that it’s still not even left the warehouse. So disappointing!!!!! Didn’t get the feeling they could have cared less whether I cancelled or waited- like they don’t really care about orders! He did tell me that since the 4th November they’ve had more orders and it’s now 10 working days for a delivery. I don’t hold out much hope. A real shame as they have nice things but not so good they don’t arrive !!!!!
Appalling - money being taken and no orders fulfilled
Ordered 13 items totalling £44 on 30 Oct. Heard nothing and no order received. Contacted customer services and no response. Got an email this morning (10 Nov) to say all 13 items are out of stock and they will refund. They couldn’t even get my name correct on the email!! All 13 items are in stock and for sale on their website this morning. It would appear that The Works are just taking my (and many other customer’s money) sitting on it for a couple of weeks in their bank account and then taking a further 5 working days to give a refund.
Don’t order online
Ordered on 23/10, 7 workings days later there was no update. Called customer services they advised to cancel the order and try ordering again. Have done this although don’t have much faith based on these comments my order will be fulfilled. Shouldn’t be allowing online orders if they are aware there is a problem.
Dreadful excuse of a company
Awful they threw my items in the box so when they arrived they were damaged these were meant to be Christmas presents and all I got offered back was £1.80 which they basically robbed from top cashback app. Will never shop here ever again. AVOID AVOID AVOID
Put an order in for two items
Put an order in for two items. I had no email regarding delivery. Today over a week later I got an email to say one item was out of stock and they will refund me but there was no mention of the other item. When I looked at my account on the website it makes it look like they have refunded both but they haven't. Thankfully I paid by paypal so if the second item does not turn up I will open a case.However I have been inundated with emails asking if I would like to buy something else. Why would I order anything else when they cannot be bothered delivering my 1st order. will never order online from this shop again.
I should point out that even though they said they were out of stock on my item, when I checked the website they are still selling them and showing it as "in stock"

Not bothered about resolving
Parcel not delivered by Evri. The Works really weren’t interested and practically called me a liar even though my Ring doorbell proves nothing was delivered at the time!

Don't bother ordering on-line!
I like the Works high street stores but will never order on line again. After placing an on-line order and paying for it in October- I had no updates as regards delivery etc. Worryingly the order was not even listed on my account on their website.
I had to make 2 phone calls to chase up and now 4 weeks later- after investigations by staff- all items are now unavailable and my order has been completely cancelled and a refund has been arranged.
The staff said they had recently changed to a new warehouse which is why there were problems- but the same thing happened to me last year!
What is going on?
This is soooo annoying when items were for Christmas use.

I had spent the morning rushing around trying to find the last bits for my kids Halloween costume. I arrived at the store soaking wet and about to give up when Jessica (last working behind the till) asked if she could help. Not only did she know exactly where everything was but she went and got all of it for me meaning I didn't have to trail water all through the shop. Fantastic customer service. A real credit to your company.

They cancelled half of my order.
Then when the non-cancelled items arrived, I was STILL missing two items!
I have been back and forth with customer services and they are refusing to acknowledge what I am saying, send replacements or refund me - claiming I have already had my full refund - I have NOT!!!!! I am absolutely furious and will be reporting to trading standards!’n
Poor online service
I place a large online order, received confirmation but after that all went quiet.
Had an email to say one item wasn’t in stock and had a refund.
Now, 10 working days had long gone and hadn’t heard anything about my remaining items and tracking wasn’t working.
I emailed to query this and was met with a response that was quite poor- blaming it on their warehouse move and instead of resolving the issue, just said they were cancelling and refunding- offering a voucher for my next order.
I personally think had I not emailed, my order wouldn’t have arrived nor would they have emailed to let me know it wouldn’t be.
Please stop allowing online orders if you can’t fulfill these because of the “warehouse move” as you are taking money but then people are having to chase orders to get money back and wait for the refunds to process.

I wish I had seen these recent reviews before I placed my order.
I ordered a £2 pen for my son for half term. I couldn't get it anywhere else. When my order of 2 items arrived, the pen was missing.
I called them thinking they would just send out the missing pen. But apparently they can't. I can either go to my local store (I said I couldn't) or I could place another order and they would refund the delivery. I spoke to the Customer service manager Helen who explained that there was no possible way that they can send the pen from the warehouse. And advised to go to a local store. I said I couldn't go to the local store which is why I ordered online.
I wouldn't have placed the order if not for this specific pen.
She again advised me that I could go to the local store. At this point I had to explain my personal circumstances as to why I could not get to a local store which is unacceptable and is discriminative.
I will not be bothering with the works in future and I would advise others not to bother either.

What a joke !!!!! Christmas 2023 placed order of books, toys etc all out of stock except a £2 memo pad. Didnt bother ordering in 2024 so this year gave them the benefit of doubt only to now receive an email stating everything was out of stock awaiting £29 refund out of £31 spent so £2 item will hopefully be sent. So much for trying to order ahead of Christmas another waste of time with books, toys etc. Wont bother with them again i am not impressed at all do you even look at orders !!!!!!
Don't bother with this company online
Ordered a puzzle on the 8th October. Selected delivery address as different from the billing address, as it was a birthday gift for my aunt who is poorly.
Received confirmation of the order, with my address as the delivery address so selecting separate delivery and billing address clearly ineffective.
The company response was lackadaisical and lacklustre at best, even considering my annoyance at having to pay twice for delivery, despite selecting the preferred destination of the item at the time of purchase.
Now it is 27th September and when I checked the courier service 2 days ago it said that my item hasn't even been dispatched by the courier yet as it wasn't received by them yet. Sent another complaint and still awaiting a reply. Awful service all round and not worth the effort and cheaper price. Am so angry and disappointed as this was a birthday gift and now nearly 20 days since I placed my order.
Additionally I have tried to post this review on the website twice and each time they have refused due to it being about customer service and not about the product.
I'd happily review the product if I'd received it at all, and not happy about my review being censored twice.
Absolutely ludicrous way to run a company.
