Service and lack of communication

I am writing this review to detail a very disappointing experience I had with your car rental service.
• Unsatisfactory Vehicle & False "Upgrade": Despite being told I received an "upgrade" from my reserved vehicle (a Fiat Doblo or equivalent), the car I was assigned—a Dacia Duster—was in poor condition.
• It was already significantly damaged before I took possession.
• The vehicle was not clean, neither inside nor out.
• I absolutely do not consider this an upgrade from the car I had initially booked. I even mentioned my concerns about the vehicle's state to your agent, Outhmane, at the time of pickup.
• Deposit/Refund Concern: I have not yet received the refund or the release of my security deposit/holding fee.
• Lack of Communication and Follow-Up: This is perhaps the most frustrating aspect.
• I have sent multiple messages to the manager of the Nador office since November 20th with no satisfactory resolution or response.
• Furthermore, I submitted a formal complaint to the parent company, Hertz, and have received absolutely no feedback or response after a full week.

Deposit not paid within 28 days

It has now been over 38 days and we have not received our deposit back. As per the contract it must be paid 28 days after the rental is given back. This is a break of contract, and utterly unprofessional. We will be pursuing legal action if the payment is not made within 2 days. Please pay luke dixon back. We hired a car from thrifty agadir between 23 december to 5 January.

Defective car

Hired a car 26th October in Morocco, specifically chose Thrifty / Hertz because i believed that they would offer good service. Arrived late in the afternoon and after a long wait at the desk (they only had one person who seemed to be both booking people in and showing them to their cars). eventually, we were shown to our car (having first being told that the child seat we had requested at the time of booking may not be available).

Despite taking out the full insurance waiver I was asked to check the car (which i am glad i did) and noticed that a warning light on the dashboard was showing "Tyre Pressure Low!" i informed them of this to be told its fine at which point a 2nd thrifty employee appeared, he got in the car and simply reset the warning light and proceeded to tell me everything was "good" and the car was fine and if i was concerned i should pump the tyres up myself with the tyre pump provided in the boot.
Suffice to say and before moving the car the light returned. I then asked to change the car as there was clearly an issue, plus standing in a car park with my 3 year old added extra concern about potentially driving around in a defective car. i was then told in no uncertain terms that i could not change the car as they didn’t have any others (i saw at least 4 more cars) and the Thrifty rep simply walked off and left us there at which point my wife and daughter went to get a taxi. By this time it was getting later and later and i simply wanted to go, i then tried to call the customer service number on the thrifty contract, multiple times, and got no response at which point the thrifty rep came out with another customer and then told me again the car was fine and i should just take it and leave, that the light was faulty and not the tyres and all would be ok. Against my better judgement i did so. on the short drive to our accommodation the car didn’t feel quite right.
The following day i noticed there was an issue with the steering and after checking the tyre pressures twice, again I attempted to notify Thrifty, online this time, and request a different car but again received no response. i wasn’t getting anywhere with Thrifty, then to top it all off on returning the vehicle i was told i would have to pay a cleaning charge (because of dust on the car, we were in Morocco.. (plus i had already paid to have it cleaned before we left for the airport). this charge (240 MAD) was then applied to my credit card without my authorisation and spurious pictures taken of the interior of the car showing other peoples rubbish were sent to me as evidence that i was lying about having the car cleaned prior.
All in all shocking service from Thrifty / Hertz, i know it’s franchised but surely someone has to have a grip on levels of service? to this date i have yet to receive any meaningful correspondence from them in response to my complaint aside from being offered a 15% discount should i return to Thrifty Morocco in the future.....

Best way to see Morocco!!!

Booked thru Discover Car Hire, bought insurance through Discover as well.
We arrived late, but the car was still there, no problems. Got exactly the car and terms I reserved thru Discover. Hertz/Thrifty staff tried the hard upsell to get us to upgrade the insurance, basically promising us that the car will get scratched and we will have some awful experience waiting 2 months for our claims to get resolved. Long story short, after two weeks driving all over the country including windey single-lane mountain roads and into the Sahara Desert, dodging potholes, overloaded hay trucks and scooters, we got nary a scratch, and after a meticulous 40 MAD carwash(!), the car looked immaculate. We had NO troubles returning the car with a spotless damage report. I don't know if I got lucky, but none of the horror stories came to pass.

Avoid !!

These people work with hertz so will leave the same reviews .

These people are hustlers I’m office wear .

They tried and forced to sell us extra insurance and told us the extra insurance we purchased via a reputable insurer is fake ! And will not be covered .

They also refused a pair of customers from Europe any assistance in locating the booking from their emails online as they had lost their mobile .

Tried to get us scared saying anything happened to the car even a little minor scratch etc . I’m aware if we damage the car we pay up but they tried to pressure us and force us in buying a hertz insurance extra £50. They were like bullies .

Very very bad customer service .

The man and women spoke in French making jokes about us the customers ( we understood little French) . Avoid at all cost . Use Avis
