I have clicked 'unsubscribe' on several Tilley emails, and I have emailed to unsubscribe. Emails kept arriving despite the response that my address had been removed. It is impossible to speak to anyone using their UK contact number, it merely directs to messaging online.
LTM 6 Airflo hat warranty replacement
I purchased my first LTM 6 Airflo hat about 15 years ago, wore almost daily. Had skin cancer on face and it was recommended by my dermatologist. It wore out at base of brim and blocked my vision. Went online this week and i side of 30 hrs had about 4 very polite email exchanges with their customer service. Paid the 20 USD handling fee and got replacement hat through FedEx inside of 3 days. Hat quality and fit is still great and i was able to register it online to continue the warranty..i feel very positive about their responsiveness and reasonableness to not require rigorous proof of original purchase. I have not ordered any other articles from them..as they seem too pricey now.
poor quality
Their products are crappy, the materials they use are worthless and poor quality. They have numerous complaints against them can be found on better business bureau dot org
The material are extremely poor quality
Don’t buy their products, you will regret it!
Can’t understand all the negative…
Can’t understand all the negative reviews. I’ve had a Tilley hat for the last 8 years and have worn it every summer as I shave my head. This year it got a year, so I emailed them. They agreed the hat was covered and I could go to their store and pick a new one up to the value of £80. It arrived a few days after I paid for postage. Email replies were slow in coming, but I got a brand new hat after my old one wore out, so I have no complaints what so ever!
Disappointing lack of quality and communication.
This will be my third attempt at a review, none of the others have been published, the Customer Service dept have never replied. I got an LTM5 in March 2022. I wore it for three days in June and decided to was it although I could not see any sweat mark. I washed it as described and air dried it. It now has water stains of some sort on the top and all around the side. It looks as if it needs washing and is worse than before the wash. I sent pictures to Tilley, hoping they could help. Nothing back from them. Cheap Chinese manufacture and crap CUstomer service. Never again.
Tilley's hats are now made in China and…
Tilley's hats are now made in China and Tilley.com, in my experience, does not respond to customer inquiries and problems. This is not the same company and the same product that Alex Tilley built.
Geez
Geez, lots of negative feedback here. I am happy to not be among the people who have had/claim to have had such difficulties. Well, I took the pictures of my amply used up hat and they agreed that it was shot. Hoarder-light, that I am, I had a hard time cutting the top off of the hat to show that it was destroyed. Finally, I put aside my hesitation, took the shot of hat and I got this beautiful T4MO-1an hour ago in less than a week. No complaints here and I can cry like a baby when I feel like I have been mistreated. No tears. Tilley hat number 5? The skin on my face is grateful.
Not what they're cracked up to be.
I have purchased 4 Tilley hats and have been very pleased with them. One of them came apart at the seams. Although I had registered it on their site I wasn't able to log in with my credentials. I contacted Tilley via email and got a standard 'We'll get right back to you' message ... nothing. So I contacted them via their site form and got a nice, prompt, polite reply asking me for information which I supplied... nothing. I emailed them again, got the usual auto reply then nothing.
In my opinion the hats are excellent, 3 out of 4 ain't bad. BUT if you're going to offer a guarantee then you should abide by it, Tilley appear to ignore it. I would give the product 5 stars, customer service 0 stars.
Poor company
Customer service is an absolute joke. Guaranteed for life is an even bigger joke.
Long story short.
I've always wanted a Tilley hat. Bought hat good fit. Lost hat in freak weather after using it problem free for 12 months or so. Wind took it clean off my head (along with my Oakley's). Ended up in sea never to be seen again. Oakley's retrieved minus one lens. Emailed Tilley twice & filled in on line form informing them of loss of hat. No response whatsoever. I thought I was getting a good guarantee in case of defects or loss when I bought the hat. It seems not. Total boll___s
Anyway I need a new hat. Any recommendations. It certainly wont be another Tilley.
I have LTM5bought 3 different Tilleys over…
I have bought 3 different Tilleys over the years. I love them but the one I like is the LTM 5. Now they are made in China. I don’t understand why. I will not be buying another. I was interested but they are cheaper made. Most of your hats are made in Canada still.
I bought 7 hats in total of different…
I bought 7 hats in total of different styles. The problem was the sizing - it wasn't consistent across styles and the T3 bucket hats were too small, despite accurately following their sizing chart. The returns policy was a nightmare - a special link for returns in Australia and then it was totally inaccurate. Customer service were hopeless.
Had to pay for return postage (despite their guide saying you didn't if you wanted a credit, but turned out a credit wasn't possible in Australia). The replacement T1 bucket hat a size larger was still too small. We couldn't face the return process again so are making do, but it's very unsatisfactory to have to make do with a hat that's really a bit too small.
We are extremely disappointed.
Tilley hats now seem to have a wire…
Tilley hats now seem to have a wire running around the edge of the brim. This wire gets out of shape and now I have 3 Wide brim Tilleys that LOOK LIKE OLD SOGGY FISHING HATs. No style. No shape.
I buy these hats for myself and my employees for years as we are outside a lot and I do a lot of travelling to hot sunny places - and some wet places too.
NEVER BUYING TILLEY AGAIN.
Bring back the old thick cotton brims, NO WIRE!
Cheap and nasty
I have had Tiiley hats for years, good quality, robust and enduranble. Now they are made in China and are flimsy, poorly made and ill-fitting. I wouldn't pay £5 for one, never mind £75.
Disappointed
I ordered a hat, was to be delivered Thursday, delayed until Friday then delayed again until Monday. Then seconds after the delayed email came another email came in saying delivered. Called Tilley, sad yet patiently waited the 48 hours to hear back...but no one called, so I called them. They told me it is at Fed Ex, but will find out the problem and let me know. Not even an apology.. anyways...I get an email saying there is nothing they can do, it's a Fed Ex and the reason is they could not find my house. Looking at the previous emails they did not even try to deliver it. They charge shipping then make the customer go and pick it up. No one apologized or took ownership for such horrible service. Wish I would of read the reviews first. They should not slap the hand that feeds them. And its true they are not made in Canada like promised. Learned an expensive lesson. Do not buy from them, save yourself the frustration and disappointment. Or go directly to Sporting Life, they carry the hats and they are much friendlier.
Once they sold the company the customer…
Once they sold the company the customer service went right down the drain. They are riding on the reputation the founder created and it is just a matter of time before they, most likely, go out of business. Corporate greed over quality product strikes again. Try getting someone on the phone... you can't, it is all automated, including the email replies you'll get if you try that way of communicating...
CHEATED AND LIED BY TILLEY HATS!!!!!!
I ordered this yellow Tilley Hat and did receive it, but found out it was made in China, not Canada and I paid $132.00 which is absurd. Paypal has now blocked me too. I am demanding my money back or send me the proper hat which should have been made in Canada. What kind of racket are they running. If need be, I will have this printed in the newspaper.
I ordered 2 hats, not 3 and found out Tilley are not standing behind their policy at all and I am very hurt and upset about them charging me this amount of money and not sending me the right product!!!!!
Sincerely,
Elaine
(Upset and Hurt!!!!!)
They stole my money. Never shipped the product.
They stole my money. Bought 2 hats on august 5 in their online website, the order its still stucked as "unfullfilled". They already charged me for the hats, and now its almost 2 months, and they wont answer emails or phone number. Non existent costumer support.
Dont buy to this scammers.
Poor Service – Bait and Switch
I have ordered a Rainproof Bucket Hat three times. Each time I place the order their system accepts my order, takes payment and then a few days later I receive notice from Tilley that the order is cancelled and I am issued a refund. Each time their online system shows the hat in stock. To receive free shipping I have ordered a second hat which I did not really need just to get free shipping. I end up with my second choice hat and never get the hat I wanted to begin with.
I have sent several emails to tilley@ and either receive an automated sorry message or no reply at all. Their service and marketing is a waste of time.
There is no customer service
There is no customer service. 4 of the 6 items ordered were not in stock, but they immediately shipped the 2 that were and cancelled the rest, losing my free shipping and discounts. Cant get through on their phone number, it constantly says they are closed, and they take forever to email back. This company got bought out and it shows!!
Love the hats BUT not lack of customer service
Love the hats. Customer Service is nonexistent. Did not receive all items in order. Tried calling customer service a couple of times during their stated business hours. Put on hold for awhile and then a message comes on saying I have called outside business hours. Sent 1 email about the issue. No response. Not even an automated one stating it had been received. Sent a second one. Guess I will give it a few days and if nothing happens file a complaint with my cc company.
