While the door itself is good, the overall service was lacking.
I chose Timber Composite Doors based on price, but overall, the experience was disappointing.
The sales team were very persistent, calling multiple times a week to secure the sale, but once the deposit was paid, the customer service started to decline. Key information was not clearly explained, including the need for a thumbturn lock, which caused issues after installation. Payment options were also unclear.
The fitters (Martindale) were excellent and did a great job, and Ultion were very helpful with locks and keys. However, the company's communication and aftercare were poor. There were issues with extra keys, no support when I needed help fitting the thumbturn I had to purchase myself, and they missed the initial fitting date without informing me.
While the door itself is good, the overall service was lacking. If I had known, I would have paid more to go elsewhere. I would not recommend.

Firstly, we’re pleased to hear that you’re happy with the quality of your door and that Martindale’s installation team was helpful. However, we’re disappointed to hear about the issues you’ve raised around communication and aftercare.
Regarding your experience with our sales team, we take pride in offering a helpful, non-pushy approach. We’ve reviewed your account and haven’t been able to locate records of multiple sales calls, so we’d really appreciate it if you could get in touch with us directly to share more details. This will help us investigate further, as this is not typical of our process.
In relation to the locking system, your order was placed with a key/key cylinder, meaning it is operated by a key on both sides. While some customers choose to upgrade to a thumbturn for convenience, this is entirely optional and not required for your door type. As the thumbturn was sourced separately, we’re limited to providing guidance remotely, though I can see our support team is currently assisting you and has requested photos to help resolve the fitting issue.
With regards to additional keys, Solidor supply three keys as standard. We do offer extras at checkout, which are processed post-installation via an automated email requesting your key code. Unfortunately, on this occasion that email was not triggered due to a system issue, and we sincerely apologise for this—our IT team is actively working to prevent this happening again.
Finally, we’re sorry for the inconvenience caused by the change to your installation date. While this was outside of our direct control, we understand how frustrating this must have been. We’re informed this was due to an unexpected vehicle breakdown, and a new date was arranged as quickly as possible to minimise disruption.
We’re genuinely sorry that your experience left you feeling disappointed, and we’d welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly to resolve any outstanding concerns. Please feel free to contact our team so we can assist further.

Good all round integrated Solidor…
Good all round integrated Solidor dedicated service. Well automated and easy online service with fast access on the phone to support when needed. Was concerned that installation was being done by a separate company (Martindales) but very pleased to find out during the scheduling process the both companies are owned by GFD Homes - so all in the family. No hesitation in recommending.

Fitted door and 2 side windows only to find out they hadn't given me enough door and window cills leaving me 100mm short.So had to go out and find another cill which cost me £20
Then had ordered 5 keys and only got 3 keys not happy

When you first raised the problem with the incorrect length of cill, we asked if you could send an invoice for the one you had to purchase elsewhere so we can review this and resolve it for you. We haven’t received this yet, so please could you forward it over as soon as possible and we’ll look into it straight away.
In regards to the keys, our manufacturer supplies cylinders with 3 keys as standard. However, we do offer additional keys by arranging for them to be sent directly from our supplier, Brisant. The extra keys have now been ordered and should have been delivered to you yesterday.

Installed Feb 2023 and after three years with two door sets installed, I’m as pleased now as I was then.
From my recollection,survey,price and install were all carried out without problem and a trim mismatch was swiftly dealt with. Both doors were from solidor and are south facing. After three years they’re perfectly ok and still look really pleasing to the eye.
Very pleased I went for these products and the company. Recommended.

The website is easy to use. I chose the door I wanted and the very reasonable cost was shown immediately. Next day I placed my order. Three days later the surveyor came to measure up.
I had bought a catflap to be fitted and spoke with the customer services team about this. They were very helpful.
Communication with this company is so efficient they are amazing. Emails clearly explained when payment was due and nothing was overlooked.
Three weeks after ordering my new backdoor with catflap, it was fitted by two excellent lads. They did a great job.
I now have a draught proof door. It looks great. I highly recommend Timber Composite Doors.com.
I am so impressed by their service, that I shall be ordering a new front door from them next year.
