Harassment from Time Warner/spectrum...Service Technicians or poor cyber security, over priced services that inconveniently get interupted at times, and lack of diversity seems to always be an issue with companies especially in the southeastern UnitedStates...For a long time I was considering being a cable service technician because you can start your own company off learning it and work is almost always available after you master it...but in the south every that isn't Andy Griffins county jail is your fault...and people think you are a child when you aren't violent, or don't adhere to their rules of control or manipulation.

I am so aggravated with this company
I am so aggravated with this company. I called and requested the first available technician to come and relocate cable wires within my home. They said we have someone available between 3-4. I leave work, go home and wait an hour and a half then call them only to be told the “order was complete and closed”!! Uumm no it wasn’t. I was then told they would look into it and get back to me. They didn’t. I called back and requested that provisions be made because I was inconvenienced…. I was told “no we can’t do that”…. And I am STILL expected to pay the 59.00 service call on SUNDAY! Four (4 days) AFTER my request and the date THEY failed to honor with zero explanation.
Stellar service wouldn’t you say? There should be a “zero star” option……
Unfortunate business model
I have struggled with their customer service, general service, and billing departments on and off for about 7 years.
Price hikes are common, service itself is generally good. Very few outages. Customer service has ranged from apathetic to downright rude. I work in the service industry myself, and I'm sure this largely stems from the company itself, and not the reps themselves. They have a hard job, and are most likely not treated well by management.
I have switched service providers, and will never ever go back. If you use this company, prepare for more than a few very long phone calls, and check your statements monthly.

Several months back I wrote a negative review on my experience with the supervisory level within TWC / Charter Communications. I decided to discontinue my service due to cost and was at their location returning the equipment the next morning. I was informed I was into the first day of the next month of my billing cycle and would have to pay the entire monthly amount. I was at the counter 15 minutes after they opened and it would have been as soon as they opened the door, but there were a few people in front of me. I suppose they had forgotten a world-wide pandemic was going on and senior citizens like me just didn't go out on a spur of the moment. I called customer service several times and was always being told a supervisor would have to approve or deny the dispute. To my shock and amazement (insert sarcasm) none were ever available to speak to me and it would be several weeks before I received an answer. Before going further I need to make clear my issues aren't with the customer service people. They were very helpful and cordial, but handcuffed as to what they can do. My issue is with their supervisors. One day I receive a credit for the exact amount on my bank statement and promptly went on amend my negative review. I am about to amend my amended review. Two months later I get a letter from a collection agency saying I have defaulted on the bill. I was perplexed and angry that TWC/ Charter didn’t contact me directly to resolve this. I don’t dodge bills and have an excellent credit score to back that up. It foolish to think I would jeopardize a credit score a few points below 850 by not paying this small amount if I thought it was a legitimate charge. This will obviously impact my credit and I am extremely unhappy about that. I urge everyone to run from any company under the Charter umbrella.

I paid extra for a 5g connection because I have daily virtual meetings, by the end of the first month I could be heard over zoom, not could chat. They cited that I was abusing the internet and referred me to the document, which doesn't exist on the website.

Their service is terrible try watching anything (snow Piercer) on demand the adds overwright the show. If it was forced internet in my area I would not deal with them. This year I will be changing to Verizon

I know that a lot of people are switching from Spectrum to different providers. Be careful when you cancel with them. We found out today that the policy on how they charge their customers changed. So even though we cancel at the beginning of a billing cycle, they will charge us for the entire month. On top of this, they will force you to pay $5 payment charge since the account is already closed and you can't do automated payment. Needless to say, you will be paying them the entire month without any service delivered from their part. Their prices went up, the quality of the service including CS is beyond pour, and now they are trying to rip people off this way. No quality, horrible CS, they are just money grubbers. Every other provider is better than them.

HOWEVER THEIR SERVICE IS AT ROCK BOTTOM. THE HOLD TIMES ARE FOREVER! THEY DISCONNECT YOU OVER AND OVER.
MY LATEST ORDEAL WAS TRYING TO GET THEM TO CANCEL THE TV PORTION OF MY BILL. I TRIED FOR DAYS TO REACH ONE OF REPS .I FINALLY GOT THEM TO CALL ME BACK. I SPOKE TO THE REP AND EXPLAINED THAT I WANTED TO CANCEL THE TV PORTION OF MY BILL, WHICH HE SAID HE WOULD DO. I ASKED HOW IT WOULD AFFECT MY BILL. HE TOLD ME IT WOULD GO FROM $212.11 TO $84.99. GREAT I ANSWERED, HOWEVER HE PUT ME ON HOLD AND DID NOT RETURN TO FINISH. I WAITED AND WAITED TO NO AVAIL AND FINALLY REALIZED I WAS BACK TO SQUARE ONE AND HAD TO START OVER AGAIN! AT THIS POINT I QUIT!
I WOULD LOVE TO GET RID OF THEM COMPLETELY, HOWEVER THERE ARE NO OTHER PROVIDERS IN MY AREA . I DON'T KNOW THE FCC LETS THEM GET AWAY WITH THE HORRIBLE WAY THEY TREAT THE CUSTOMERS. THEY ARE THE WORSE OR THE WORSE! STAY AWAY FROM THEM IF YOU CAN!

Spectrum/ TWC has the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced! Not only have there been several screw-ups and unexplained price increases but they also lie to you about your services, skewing your expectations. You’re told you’re in a set price that has plateaued because you’ve exceeded the set rate , yet more price increases impact my bill. I’ve been a customer for almost a decade and as soon as I think I’ve crossed the bridge of no further disappointment, I’m fooled again! I was told I was locked in and my bill would no longer increase and I’ve still seen two more increases to my bill. Im just so frustrated!
10 YEARS of Internet Issues Still Unresolved
I'm writing here because I have no where else to go to vent my frustrations with this company, and "frustrations" is an understatement. Over the last 10 years, TWC, now Spectrum, has given us nothing but issues. Our internet goes out whenever it is windy, rainy, cold, or humid outside. Basically, whenever the weather isn't 100% perfect. We have had over 30+ technicians come to our house over the last 10 years and none of them can figure out what the issue is... then they just leave. I've finally had it with this company. The internet will go out for 2 seconds or 2 hours, 15 seconds or 15 minutes, 30 seconds or 30 hours ALL. DAY. LONG. Last week both our cable and internet went out. We were told by the technician that all of our equipment is fine. The fault lies with the tap/poll/box up in the woods and the line leading to it. He said it's on Spectrum's end. So he put in a number for a maintenance worker to come out and fix the weak signal. Person walked right past the box, didn't fix jack. Then they were supposed to come and bury the new cable we got. Two weeks later... it's still not buried. So we called for another tech to come out because when I was on the phone with Spectrum, they said the signal is still super sketchy and weak. Technician comes out, and I have NEVER experienced this level of unprofessionalism in all my life. The guy doesn't say a word to us, goes to check the tap in the back, sits in his truck for the next HOUR playing games on his phone and eating a sandwich in our driveway, and then he leaves without a word to us. WHAT THE ACTUAL $%*&?!?!?!?!?! Then he put in the comments that there was no issue to resolve!!!! I can't believe the audacity of this company or the people that they hire to sit around and not do anything! Meanwhile this guy still gets paid, still has a job, and my internet is still going on and off every few seconds. I had to call again last night and get the situation "elevated." A new tech is supposed to come today, but it will just be more of the same garbage. He will tell us the fault lies with the tap, schedule a maintenance person to come and fix it and because these people are contractors, they won't come and talk to us at all so the problem will continue to persist. Our bill keeps getting higher but our internet keeps getting worse. Would Spectrum be okay if we only paid 1/8th of our bill? Because that's all the internet we are getting.
Try being a graduate student and trying to take an online exam or quiz when the internet goes out every time you click on an answer. Then try explaining to the professor why you couldn't get your exam done in the allotted time, only to have them think you're just cheating! This company has caused me so much grief, I only wish I could take them to court!

I'm so disappointed in the service I received I cancelled my TV and ordered just internet and they still charged me for TV even after I turn in my TV boxes and controllers and demanded I pay them I cancelled because they kept raising the cost without letting me know and charging my card I'd rather use antenna TV before I get force to pay for something I didn't order another disappointed customer.

The service itself wasn't the best. Wifi was very spotty on our smart tv.

This company is the worst of the worst. Their customer service is abysmal and their advertised internet speeds are a complete lie over what you actually receive. I'm glad I was able to drop their cable TV services. Should have done it years ago.
TWC/Spectrum a bad choice for small business.
We are a local Central New York small service business that Time Warner/ Spectrum courted to change from Verizon Internet and telephone services to them.
At first the service ran smoothly and we can say we were pleased.
But then we had two weather related outages in the last three months, with the most recent being the last 72 hours.
While the weather related issues were not terrible they did cause interruption to our services.
When my office staff called them they responded "well it can take up to one week for us to get to you"., meanwhile almost 100% of the area service was already restored.
When the staff spoke with me and I listened to my staff, and the staff suggested that this would not be acceptable to TWC/Spectrum they now said they would send a tech out on Thursday.
The last time this was the same response, and the last time I explained there are no internal problems only issues externally with the services lines on the streets of our community. Then magically the system was restored.
This time is no different all they need to do is find the problem on the street and the issue will be resolved.
So here is what I know:
1. our company received "material misstatements"/ not true representation as to the services capabilities, and how they would be here providing for our companies needs in a 24 hour window.
2. I need to exit this company relationship because we are a service company and rely on contact with our clients.
3. It always seems that the excuse is that they will send a tech- when in reality if the services external lines were more durable/sturdy the problems would not exist.
4. In reality we should receive credit for days without service off of our bill
under current rules and laws.
5. I strongly suggest that no small business do business with TWC/Spectrum. When the service is working it is great- but when it goes out "no one wants to know you", or make the effort to fix the problem by first "owning the problem" They are always strongly avoiding responsibility for any issue.
