NON Registrare al telefono con Tiscali. Costa ATTIVAZIONE e DISATIVAZIONE

DO NOT REGISTER ON THE PHONE WITH TISCALI. Never Ever. If you need the service bear in mind that there are many hidden bills in case you fall in trouble with them.
NON Registrare al telefono con Tiscali. They call you randomly. The girl from Tiscali told me the activation cost is ZERO. Pero Costa ATTIVAZIONE e DISATIVAZIONE se anche la ragaza gentile al telefono ti dice che ti costa nulla.
I had to go back to the US. I call them to cansel the service. They said I had to pay the next three months (the bill is tre mensile, no exception what so ever), returning back the modem (12 euros), and pay activation (90 euros) and inactivation (19.99 euros).
I wrote an email to customer service and I explained why the girl who sold me the service lied to me. They denied my request (after listening to the tape, if it exist).
On the phone l'operatore nicely continua a ripetere che: mi dispiace, non posso fare niente. And they charge you harshly.
They keep repeating sorry, I can't do anything for you. For two miserable months of using the service, they charged me for 9 months just for me to get rid of them. I wish to see these companies finish for good as soon as possible.

Be very careful with Tiscali.

Be very careful with Tiscali, or any other internet service company in Italy BEFORE SUBSCRIPTION. They easily lie to customers and accept no responsibility. These companies hire a call center (In my case by Tiscali) to use all means possible just to get as many innocent people as possible to subscribe to their services.
These call centers are not Tiscali's genuine “area clienti.” In other words, the company to whom you talk before the subscription is different from Tiscali. These employed-by-Tiscaly people may tell you any lie. In my case, a girl promised that there is no activation fee, and you can disconnect your service anytime you wish at no cost. Later, when I was overcharged for closing the deal because I was leaving Italy back to the USA, Tiscali did not accept any responsibility for what that girl told me before subscription. I guess they target "accent people," "Americani," or "extracomunitari". Then after you get a client of Tiscaly or TIM (My friend’s case), you will never find those friendly people again.
In my case, the “Hired-by-Tiscali” was a girl. She made me 100% sure there is no hidden fees. She lied so honestly, so true that I believed her. After all, Italy is in Europe. But I was fooled 100%.
You have to pay at least a two-year activation fee which is added to your monthly bill. If you decide to finish your contract with them, you must pay it in full. They also ask you to send back the modem at your own cost to Sarddegna. Plus they will charge you for 30 days, after you request to close your service too.
Then you think you can call and explain that you were wrongly informed before your subscription. Yes. That will work in the USA but not in ITALY. The customer service will not CARE! No one cares. they just provide apologies with a calm rigid voice “Sorry, we can't do anything for you.” “We are sorry that you were misinformed.” and that is it!
Furthermore, you should remember that a complaint processing time is at least 45 working days. The “area clienti” will request a team to listen to the taped voice of the first person who dragged you in. But they only listen to the part the contract was read to you. And because you were promised that you wouldn’t pay the activation fee or any other hidden expense, you probably accept “Terms and Conditions” read to you in complicated terminology. So, they ignore the part the person told you off the record.
You will get a “they are sorry they can’t help you.” That “that is the law in Italy to pay for such and such for services.” “The activation fee must be paid, and you have to return the modem at your own cost.”
I am not saying live without internet service. You should listen to them carefully. Say goodbye and try to call Tiscali customer service again and again until you make sure what are you subscribing to, for how long and ask for a copy of the contract before hand. Ask the name and family name of the person you are talking to, record their voice for your information. And, DO NOT authorize any of these companies to make automatic IBAN or credit card charges. ASK THEM TO SEND YOU A PAPER BILL EVERY MONTH.

Tiscali Operator suggests to ignore https certificate warning!

My client has home ADSL + Voip, and his Modem/Router (provided by Tiscali) is seriously compromised: the main issue is DNS resolution (if set on the router, so as the default DHCP connection) which gives not genuine results: everything is fine if we use a VPN.
The result is that for many websites (bank, insurance...) the https connection result in a wrong certificate, so the browser warns us: as to my experience I think the router is probably compromised: anyhow my client called the assistance 892130 (my client is Italian, and have contract in Italy/NordEst) several time: no big relevance have been given: "it is fine for us, if you want to change modem pay 50€"; I've just called myself in the name of my client, the operator gave me a devastating answer that has completely shocked me:

Me: "the router appears to be compromised: for several websites, bank and insurancethe https connection fails for non https genuine certificate: we tested it with different PC: everything works fine if we change DNS, or if we connect to the internet with VPN"

Tiscali Operator: "what is the problem? if your browser tells you the connection is not secure for the certificate, just click on 'continue anyhow' and keep on surfing! it is not a big deal, I do it every day" (!!!)

Of course I tried to explain, but operator sounded so sure about herself, with no doubt at all.

Once I asked to talk to a technician she said "ok, stay connected and I let you talk to a technician" and at the same time connection went off (!)

Customer service is awful,via whatsapp…

Customer service is awful, via whatsapp and it’s just so generic.
2 Wi-Fi and phone line blackouts for 4 days twice in a month, still charge you full bill.
It takes them forever to fix problems, internet connection is very slow too.
Stay away absolutely.

Terrible company, service, and refund policy and practice

I'm having an horrible nightmare with Tiscali.
on January 29, 2021 after months of poor (or inexistent) internet connection (I live in a building with FTTH) I decided to change company. I used the Migration Authorisation Code and the migration was performed February 3rd. Tiscali forgot my intensions and kept charging me bills. The customer care didn't solve anything and it was mainly unreachable. I filed a complaint and finally, August 11, 2021 Tiscali told me it’d pay me back in 90 days.
After 180 days and another claim I have not yet been refunded. Besides, Tiscali now says it doesn’t know when I’ll be reimbursed. I feel betrayed by Tiscali and the reader can easily understand why. It’s definitely a bad company.

The worst place

The worst place.
For 5 months I've been lied to and ripped off by Tiscali every week.

For 5 months, Tiscali has been making an appointment with me every 2 weeks to install the stupid internet and nobody ever comes.

I have to take extra time off and have already wasted vacation days because of this company.
I even tried to cancel the contract I signed in June, but according to Tiscali, I can't.

One last time Tiscali: I don't want to be your customer anymore.

I wish I could give this company -5…

I wish I could give this company -5 stars, they are the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with! No customer service response after 3 days of no internet and calling plus texting continually. The only time I was able to chat with someone via cell phone was in order to find out how to dump this service so I can actually have functioning WiFi at home.
Save yourself the pain, money and serious hassle and avoid this company at all costs!
