Extremely disappointing and misleading experience
The representative of this service came to my house to see the car and supply me a quotation. He was very friendly, inspected my car, and I showed him all the issues that needed to be solved. I highlighted two in particular — a very deep scratch on the passenger door and a small dent on the driver door. He said the car would look perfect, including the deep scratch on the passenger door and the other minor marks, except for the small dent on the driver side which he said he would not be able to fix. I repeated several times that the deep scratch was what bothered me the most so he would fully understand my expectations — and every single time he was confident and said it would be resolved.
I confess I was sceptical about him being able to fix the deep scratch, because I had taken the car to a bodyshop before and they told me it was a serious job, involving respray and proper paintwork. But since I am known in my own field for doing things people consider “impossible”, not because I do miracles, but because I think outside the box — I genuinely assumed he might also be someone of above-average talent with his own methods, secrets and differentials, just like I am in my field.
I accepted without any problem the fact he would not be able to remove the small dent on the driver door. However, he clearly stated he would take care of the deep scratch. He was very attentive, showed photos of previous work that looked impressive, he was friendly, charismatic and extremely confident — and I felt completely comfortable trusting him.
Then I went to collect the car on the agreed date. The deep scratch was still there. And then he told me he never promised to sort the deep scratches, and that I would need to sort that elsewhere, because that would require touch-up pens, respray and other paintwork techniques. Think about how absurd that sounds. Who pays someone to remove scratches, polish and detail a car — and then immediately takes the car to a bodyshop afterwards? If you were a dentist, would you spend time treating a decayed tooth that you already know will need to be extracted in the next appointment — and charge the full treatment price anyway? Or would you be honest and say: “I won’t touch this tooth because it will need to be extracted anyway”? Which one is the serious and professional attitude?
He took the payment without any concern whatsoever regarding the fact that the main reason I hired the service was not resolved. And it was not cheap. I deeply regret hiring this service and I feel completely misled.
