Very poor construction

Bought this from the range, the instructions were difficult to read, the lid would not fit together and when you tried to use force it cracked. Took 4 hrs to put together but there is a gap in the lid. We have to put masking tape to hide the gap. Would not recommend

The plastic is very brittle

The plastic is very brittle, therefore the is zero flexibility before the it cracks or breaks. This makes installation difficult.

Outdoor storage that is not weatherproof.

I bought a toomax 1270L Storer Plus.
To give it some extra stability, I threaded bungee cords through the underside of the lid and hooked them into the holes intended for fitting shelves. I also attached some cords under the outer edges and across the top of the lid.

It didn't matter. A gust of wind ripped it off. The only reason it didn't cause a hazard to other people was because I put the bungee cords in.

It had been assembled for a grand total of 9 weeks.

I have contacted the manufacturer who haven't had the decency to even acknowledge my complaint, and the seller will not do anything because the item which is marketed as being intended for outdoor storage, does not include weather damage in the warranty.

Don't waste your money. Don't deal with this company

Toomax Dolomiti 970 Litre storage boxes

Toomax storage boxes are not worth the money. They are weak and flimsy and will be the ruin of whatever you risk storing in them. We purchased two Dolomiti 970 Ltr storage boxes. They look nice but are made of cheap plastic, ridiculously weak and bad design. First of all they arrived all cracked up because the polymer they are made of is thin and brittle. The internal support ribs are useless and most were snapped off due to parts moving around during transport. Some sides were warped during injection moulding and therefore a pain to match the lugs for assembly. I had to run a bead of silicon sealant along each joint of each side (horizontal and vertical) in order to avoid water seeping in. By design this particular model of a storage box is a joke. Water that sits on the top door lid literally runs into the storage box when you open it (simply ridiculous). After just a couple of weeks the hinges of the front panel door rusted so heavily that they stained the front of both boxes (photo is my profile pic). Ironically they are hidden hinges on the inside so water doesn't get to them and yet they rusted heavily. Is it possible that Toomax couldn't afford to use stainless steel hinges for a product that is intended to be used outdoors ? We do not live anywhere near the sea so we are not exposed to any salt water but the heavy rust is nothing I have seen before, such that the hinges now locked up and we can't risk opening the front latches or we risk that something snaps. As for the top lid locking system it's simply a piece of cheap malleable flat steel with a mating hole for a small padlock. At the minimal F4 wind exposure it's very easy for the wind to rip the lid off. With all due respect these boxes are weak and badly designed. If you do risk it just use them for indoors or you seriously risk ruining whatever you place inside them.

Winds flattened it

I purchased a Toomax storage box last August which arrived much later than advertised. I erected it as instructed (disappointed with the back wall being made of the thinnest corrugated cardboard plastic material) and filled it (not too full). In November the first winds of the year arrived and blew the box to shreds. It is next to a plastic storage box of another brand which I have had for 10+ years which was fine in the winds. I have attempted to contact Toomax by email and phone call over 20 times since this happened. No one has responded.
This product is cheap and not fit for purpose and the customer service only exists when you are paying out money.
All of my stuff is ruined and I have no where for it to go.
