I love the product and it's capabilities, it honestly achieves the impossible in restoring and rescuing footage i would have never thought possible. Pricey for hobby non-professional use, but it is ultimately worth the money if the projects are important to you and you want the best.
I'm very happy with the various models and the quality that Topaz Video provides. What I'm not happy about is the new subscription model. The software has become far too expensive for ordinary users. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars because the video quality and the software itself are excellent. However, the new subscription model is simply too expensive, and the Personal plan, which costs $59 per month ($708 per year), doesn't even allow local rendering for Starlight Mini and similar models. Instead, you have to purchase additional credits to use cloud rendering. It feels like a money grab. The Studio plan does allow local rendering for Starlight, but it costs $69 per month ($828 per year), and most people don't need all of the included applications. At $708 per year for the Personal plan, a user who stays with Topaz Video for 10 years will have spent $7,080. That's quite extreme. It feels like this software is now aimed primarily at businesses and professionals rather than ordinary users. If you're looking to upscale and restore old VHS recordings, for example, or enhance your YouTube videos, it may actually be cheaper to pay a professional service to do the work for you. That's a shame because the software (previously Topaz Video AI) used to be a one-time purchase, and it's genuinely excellent in terms of both functionality and output quality.
Since I own a large collection of old SD-quality videos, improving image quality is extremely important to me. I’ve tried several products from other companies in the past, but I’ve never found one that satisfied me—either I couldn’t really notice any improvement in image quality, or the results looked unnatural. I really like how this software produces very natural-looking results. If possible, I’d prefer to see a slightly more noticeable improvement in image quality. I also appreciate that it runs smoothly and processes videos quickly.
It is easy to use and it does a good job, as advertised.
Im grateful to have this software for a year, it helps upscale my 1080p footage to 4k and helps with compression when uploading projects to youtube.
An interesting and potentially very useful product for restoring degraded video materials. The current models, while improving the appearance of the original sample footage, did not, in my opinon, justify the time and expense of processing all the footage. I expect that the models will be continually improved. I expect to re-subscribe at some point to try processing the footage again.
I ended up choosing the annual plan - honestly, I’m not even sure why. If I remember correctly, there are monthly plans too, which might be a better choice if you just want to test it out first. It’s disappointing that there’s no trial version anymore. If you want to see what it can do, you have to pay upfront.
I only needed to use the app for one single file and then intended to cancel the subscription, and assumed I would be able to accomplish this within a week, but I wasn't able to download the improved file and may have already passed the 7-day deadline to cancel without cost. Hope not.
I like the frame interpolation model for creating slow motion videos, but many of the video enhancement models do a poor job with interlaced video faces, especially if they are not close up. Upscaling of lips and teeth are especially scary sometimes. I have tried presets as well as creating my own customizations of them, trying 4k, FHD, and HD resolutions

Software promises allot, outcomes are not what is expected.
It has a strong power to reduce noise and expand image size. Although, slow motion function is quite useless. It makes unnatural movement and cubic shape, especially in nature views and creatures. Pls update your product’s algorithm quickly. Thanks
