Broken Tablet Kept for 3 Months
I purchased a tablet from them and I won't even get into why the quality of the product was horrible. Nevertheless, the screen was acting up so I couldn't do anything on it. I called them up the third week it acted up. Might I also note that the product was literally two weeks old when it was starting to have problems and I couldn't return it to the store due to a 14-day return policy.
I did the warranty claim, whatever. Charged me money to ship the product back to them. They had my broken tablet for two months, nearly the entire summer. Never told me why until I called them up and they told me the repair parts for my tablet was "backordered".
After almost three months, they sent me a brand new replacement. I sold it online and never wanted to deal with this company again. For those three months that this tablet was at the "warehouse to fix", I purchased myself an iPad and didn't have a problem since.
Terrible! A FIRE BROKE OUT because of the air conditioner and they don't cover the loss!
A fire broke out because of the air conditioner that we'd bought 1,5 years ago and they don't cover the loss. When my husband started the maschine, he felt a smell of cable and shut down the air cond. Then he called the technical service and they said the smell came from the dust stucked into the air conditioner and they would come the nex day. About 15-20 min. later, the air conditioner started to burn while closed! After all, we got survey report and the reason of the fire was proved, the fire was coming directly from the air conditioner and we called the authorised company in Antalya/TURKEY and they don't accept to cover the loss and also accuse us having not serviced the machine. But the service did not even come despite the smell of cable! Isn't it obvious that it could be sth serious??? We are suing right now and suggest everybody not to buy their products!
Never buy a Toshiba Laptop
I have had a home pc since 1977 when I bought an Atari P.E.T. that you had to type in the programs for. The Toshiba Satellite laptop I bought is he worst electronic item I have ever bought since then. I should have built my own, and because I am capable of that I did not purchase the expensive warrenty. I Thought, (I feel silly) that 30 days would be enough to tell me if this product should be sent back. On the 31st day of ownership the touch screen stopped working. It was built without a raised edge that the fan could vent hot air through, and I was pretty sure that was the problem, as I could hear the fan. I called Toshiba and was told I'd have to pay if I wanted to talk to anyone for any reason. This laptop blows in other ways too. The keys on the keyboard are spaced wrong, and I type faster than the keys can record, apparently. I've been tempted to throw it out the window more than once. I will never buy another Toshiba anything, or reccomend it to anyone.
Don't Ever Buy Anything Toshiba
I bought a satellite notebook and within 3 months, it refused to power on. I had to send it to Toshiba. After 3 weeks I still did not get any message from them as to when I would get my device back. I had to go thru' the procedure of raising another ticket to get access to the contact phone number to be able to peak to someone. To my surprise I learnt that they have repaired the notebook and that it was powering on fine. However, the technician that it was due to an old Bios which needed to be updated and therefore it was outside the warranty terms. I have never heard of any device not powering up due to an out of date Bios. Anyway, the notebook had a Toshiba utility that automatically updates its software. Now Toshiba is asking for £60 for the repair. To take the mick, if I don't want to pay to get the device back, I have to pay £40 to get them to dispose of the device!!!!
Obviously I am not going to pay and escalate my complaint.
But one thing is certain, I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A TOSHIBA PRODUCT.
Hung up on me
I got a message that my Toshiba SSD (not laptop, but the SSD inside it) was nearing imminent failure. I'm very tech savvy and know that each individual SSD vendor has their own utilities for testing their own drives. I was unable to find anything on Toshiba's website so I called Customer Support to ask - and after the person rambling on and on in poor broken english, ignoring my question and just continuing on with his script ... he finally just hung up on me. It was a pretty simple question - the answer was yes or no - do you have software available for me to test your drive.
Loser customer support, loser rep. Poorly done Toshiba.
Customer service in sweden despicable.
The laptop I bought has a strong chemical smell. There is nothing they offered to do about that. Plus very unproffesional languuage was used in the interactions.
Poor service!
I've had to return my laptop to the store no less than 3 times now and my issue still has not been fixed!
Reliable
I couldn't tell you how their customer service is because I've never had to use them. Their products really do withstand the test of time. I'm a Toshiba fan for life.
Toshiba will say anything to get out of their warranty!
A three month old Toshiba Laptop developed a line down one side of the screen. The line turned into a bar that continued to grow, getting wider each time it was booted up. Called Toshiba, and got an RMA number along with directions to ship it back. I even had to pay for the shipping. When they received it, their reply was "physical damage - not covered".
They offered to fix it for $350.00. I elected to have to returned to me. Now that they had refused to repair it, I took the screen out, where it was clear that they had not bothered to remove it. My guess is all they did was power it up and see that the screen was bad and claim physical damage. There was NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE, no crack, no mark, no nothing on the screen, plus the changing size and type of the bar on the screen is symptomatic of electronic failure (this is an LED screen), not physical damage. But that didn't matter to Toshiba. I followed all this up with one of their "Case Managers", who made it clear that they had an excuse not to meet their obligation under the warranty.
Luckily, I found a replacement screen at ScreenCountry.com for $67.00. Replaced it while sitting in my Lazy-boy, drinking a cold one, and watching TV. Laptop works great now, I just hope nothing else goes wrong because it is clear to me that the warranty is worthless! I was told that Toshiba Customer Support was terrible before I purchase this laptop, I should have listened.
TOSHBIBA Service Sucks
My computer started to rumble during the guaranteeperiod. I brought it back to its reseller Computerland. 4 times they tried to fix it and blackmailed me into payment of € 81 otherwise I couldn't get my computer back. I approached the Dutch Consumers Organisation and my complaints were found to be true,m admitted by both Computerland and Toshiba. They would give it another try to repair it or I would get a new computer. I am still waiting for my computer. It's been away now for half a year, except for a few days around Christmas. Both companies lie to the Dutch Consumers organisation. They promise but don't deliver at all.
So my advice to all of you : Don'T BUY A TOSHIBA product. Their service SUCKS
Terrible Service
I ordered a recovery disk for my laptop and it was shipped out from Germany. The disk didn't work so I contacted customer support in the UK and they told me that I had to write and send the disk back to the address in Germany. There was not direct contact number for them. The cost of sending it back would have been more than they paid to send me the disk. Left me out of pocket. Don't bother with them.
