Incompetent company

I ordered a product from this company, to give as a christmas gift. I ordered this item (that was not cheap) on 23rd November. The website stated it was released in December. After not receiving any communication of dispatch, I decided to email them to ensure my order was received. It was then that they decided to tell me there was a delay in them receiving this item and they were hoping it will be received at some point in those first 2 weeks in December. I didn't think it was a problem, as these things do happen. But again, after no notification, I had to chase them again. Only for them to say they are still waiting. This time I requested they please keep me updated, as this is meant to be a gift and I needed to know if it would arrive in time. They did nothing.
I had to chase everytime, so I raised a complaint.
I wasnt able to give this product as a gift at christmas, in fact the individual got nothing apart from an apology and me having to explain it should be arriving soon
It is now 29th December, I see no hope in this product arriving this month!
I have requested a full refund now, so we will see if they are able to do that or show how truly incompetent they are.
I have gone on to order this product elsewhere, where funnily enough, it has already arrived (and was cheaper) and have given it to the individual who's gift it was, apologetically.
In future I recommend Total Cards make it very clear on their website that delays can occur, which are out of their control, but should state they will do everything in their power to ensure this does not happen.
The most frustrating thing has been the poor communication. Emails should be issued to those people whose orders are affected. Even if it is a generic email and only advises they are still waiting. Any communication is better than none. This will also likely reduce the amount of complaints they receive. Which I have investigated and looks as though they get a lot, but down play it on websites, such as this. As you can see from the top of the page, they are showing misleading information and the star rating may not be correct. I can tell you now. There are a lot more complaints with this company than they show!

As a retailer, we rely on our suppliers for stock, and in this instance, we were initially promised delivery within the first two weeks of December. Unfortunately, this did not happen, and we sincerely apologise for the delay. While it may not have been apparent, we were working daily to get updated information from our suppliers. However, they did not provide us with a confirmed timeline, leaving us unable to give you precise updates. This situation was truly beyond our control, and for that, I am deeply sorry.

Regarding delays, we include a disclaimer in our Terms and Conditions to set clear expectations:

"During the order process, we will display an estimated shipping timeframe from the date that you place your order (or a date for pre-order products). Shipping dates are estimates only and cannot be guaranteed. We will let you know if there are any problems with your delivery but cannot be responsible for any delays outside of our control."

Total cards are just awesome, they always deliver quickly, even at busy times like Christmas, prices are competitive, and they always package everything with that little extra care and usually throw in a tiny little bonus too.

Prismatic Evolutions Pre-Order Cancelled

I pre-ordered a Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Box from Total Cards and received an order number and order confirmation.

Subsequently, without any further communication, Total Cards cancelled my pre-order and issued a refund notification.

According to the refund notification, I now have to wait for up to 10 days for the refund to appear in my account.

I can only assume that they are overselling or planning to sell at inflated prices after release.

Be careful who you place pre-orders with.

This decision was made because the ETB is not being sold individually at this time to prevent scalpers from purchasing single units solely for resale purposes. Unfortunately, this policy meant that any orders placed for the ETB alone had to be cancelled, and we updated the product listing to reflect that it is only available in a bundle.

This was not a case of overselling or inflating prices—our goal has always been to offer products at the lowest prices possible. However, due to the high demand and attempts to secure stock for genuine collectors, we had to implement this measure to combat reselling.

These guys are really good

These guys are really good. The prices are good, the service is amazing and they respond to all messages and emails super quickly. I now look at them over other providers who dont seem to be able to ship and cope during busy periods. I have placed several successive orders after the first one.

pre-ordered 6 booster boxes of the new…

pre-ordered 6 booster boxes of the new Pokémon set and still have not received the item. I got a reply 6 days ago stating they had received stock and will get it out as soon as possible. Altogether it has been 10 days since release and still not received the item. I have spent a lot of money on this and now looking to cancel the order.

Very disappointing

Pre-ordered 2 booster boxes of the new Pokemon set Surging Sparks. They arrived 4 days after release date but that wasn’t such a big issue for me. The issue was both boxes arrived damaged with big slits to the seal, one with a crushed corner. Not sure how/why there were slits on both but I can’t recommend this site for sealed collectors. Packaging wasn’t great - boxes were stacked on top of each other with almost no protection.

Pre ordered the new Pokémon set

Pre ordered the new Pokémon set for release and delivery on the 8th November. Today is the 9th with no sign of the item or any communication from total cards a with a reason or expected delivery day.

Very very frustrating considering I can't cancel the order and buy it elsewhere as I used Klana 3 pay and have already paid 2 out of 3 payments! Will not be using total cards for pre-orders in the future which is a shame as had good experiences up to this point.

Changed to a 3* as I have now received my product. Can't give more as the least I'd expect for a pre-order is to get the item on release day!

Careful with mixing other products with pre orders!

I had ordered some card sleeves to go along with the new Yu-gi-oh set that was for pre order and it turns out total cards was withholding the order as the sleeves were on backorder and not in stock so my order got delayed which i only found out through their customer support which was incredibly helpful and i asked to have them replaced with other sleeves in stock so they could ship it asap which they did!

Thank you Ryan at Total Cards for sorting this out for me, I'll be back again for sure!

MTG pre-order never arrived

Pre-ordered a MTG product in March, for release in June, but the product never arrived. I've chased for months but never had a firm answer on whether I'd actually receive the product. I can't cancel and order from another company now as the price has almost doubled since the initial order date in March.

I can't recommend Total Cards to anyone and I won't be using them again as I've had much better service from other providers.

Not a good service or customer experience

I ordered some Pokémon collection boxes and when they arrived they were not as described on the web site. They wanted me to pay for the return postage, even though the product was mis-advertised. They finally agreed to pay for return postage but gave me an invalid return postage label. I am still trying to get this resolved. They make it very difficult to get hold of someone by phone and seem to hide contact details on their web site. This is not how a honest and transparent company should be doing business in my opinion and not a good customer experience. I will not be using them again.

Customer service was excellent

Customer service was excellent, they replied fast and were very helpful.

I was on a time limit and needed the products delivered within a day or two. I consulted their support team through the website chat widget to make sure the delivery would be on time, and it was just like they said it would.

The prices seem really good (for context, I am a foreigner coming from a country of lower income).

Based on customer service alone, I would recommend this shop.

Made a pre-order for a new MTG product, has just been cancelled now meaning i have to re-order from another site at a much greater cost leaving me out of pocket. Dont use for pre-orders as they might not have stock and will leave you without the product and out of pocket.

Multiple delayed orders

Every pre-order you make with this company is always delayed and there excuse is that its the suppliers fault. Ther's only so many times you can use that excuse and when its about 3 pre-orders in a row its clearly a total cards issue. And no I don't want your crappy points system as an apology.

They have now dispatched one of my order but I have not received an email for my other order and neither an update. You also cant get through to customer service on the phone as no one is their to answer.

One of the worst companies out there in terms of customer experience but they're cheaper and you can pre-order earlier than any other website.

Total Cards: Top-Notch Service

Very impressed with the experince I had shopping online with them - Navigating their website is a breeze, with the sub-sections of the site listing the current and upcoming expansions makes it easy to find what you want quickly.

The items I purchase were quickly dispatched and arrived well packaged, ensuring they were in perfect condition when they arrived.

I will definitely be purchasing from then again!

A pre-order turned back-order?

First of all let me reassure whoever is reading this that Total Cards are not a scam, contrary to what stated in other reviews.

I've come across Total Cards while looking for Star Wars Unlimited Shadows of the Galaxy pre-orders. They have a pretty good score on this platform, and the price was not bad, so I decided to place an order with them. After I created my account I received an email with a first-time welcome discount. Only problem is that I've noticed it after I had placed the order. I asked support if it was possible to retroactively apply the discount. I received a prompt reply, but I was offered a new discount code for a future purchase (of course it makes sense as a strategy if you want the customer to come back, which is fine by me).

The date of the release comes and there are no signs of shipments from Total Cards. Meanwhile I had found another seller with a better price and decided to place an order for a box with them too. Said box was shipped the day before the release and arrived the day after. A few days after the release I messaged Total Cards support to see why I still had no shipment notifications. They once again replied pretty promptly and offered the same reason that was offered to similar reviewers on this platform: "supply issues". I ended up receiving the items I ordered a week after the release. This was not a huge problem for me, but what I have found slightly annoying is that there was no mention at check-out, nor proactive communication of these alleged "supply issues". Based on my experience, because I can find the same items at a better price and shipped timely elsewhere, it's hard to make the case for me to be a returning customer. Like I said, this business has pretty good reviews on this platform, so they must be excelling in some aspects.

My advice to Total Cards would be to sort out these "supply issues" first and foremost, and then also look at being more competitive price-wise. Should they manage to improve on these aspects I'd be more than happy to be a returning customer for future pre-orders.
