Beware of total warranty

Beware: Total Warranty Services / First Mile refused to honor my Platinum Powertrain contract.
My 2021 Toyota Highlander needed a transmission replacement—a fully covered item.
First Mile denied the claim completely.

Toyota corporate had to supply the transmission because the warranty company did nothing.
I ended up paying $4,000 out-of-pocket for labor that should’ve cost $100 under my contract.

This company sold me a $3,000 “Platinum” service contract that provided zero benefit when the biggest repair actually happened.

I am filing formal complaints with the Georgia Insurance Commissioner and Attorney General.
Avoid this company

Fraudulent Practices, Greed, and Abusive Customer Service

My experience with Total Warranty Services GAP has been nothing short of appalling. Their customer service is abysmal, with no accountability or professionalism. After repeatedly requesting documentation on how my payout amount was calculated, I received nothing—no calls, no emails, and no detailed explanation. The only response was a dismissive screenshot sent by someone who demonstrated shockingly poor customer service over the phone.

To make matters worse, they have failed to make the payment to my lienholder, even though the payout amount was determined over three weeks ago. This negligence forces me to continue making payments that will not go toward the final balance owed.

Total Warranty Services GAP’s practices are fraudulent, greedy, and abusive. They exploit their customers with a complete lack of transparency and responsibility, prioritizing corporate greed over ethical behavior.

I strongly advise others to avoid this company at all costs. Their actions demonstrate a clear intent to take advantage of customers rather than provide the service they advertise.

As an adjuster working there for 2.5…

As an adjuster working there for 2.5 years under Barry my supervisor I received help whenever I needed it, suggestions for improvement instead of complaint, time off when needed and my co-workers were also helpful and informative.
The benefits were excellent, many more paid holidays than I ever received as a tech.
Vacation after just 1 year and company events, parties, dinners all much more than I was used to.
Also paid healthcare.
I can not recommend this company any higher as a former employee I would suggest it to anyone looking for a comfortable place to work, good pay, great benefits and a very healthy working environment.
Only reason I left was that I retired, otherwise would still be there.

DO NOT get a car warranty with Total Warranty Services!!

DO NOT get a car warranty with this company!!! The sales person at the Ford dealership said this was their best option as to a "bumper to bumper" warranty so I paid $3,495 for a 7 year/100k mile warranty in 2019. My truck broke down (starter went out) so I took it to my local Ford dealer to find out that Total Warranty Services would not cover the full price of my starter, they would not cover the diagnostic test and they wouldn't even cover the full price of labor for the repair. Even after I paid for the new battery (which I did not expect to be covered) I STILL had to come out of pocket around $270 (NOT including my deductible). So much for having "peace of mind" with this company, they sell their warranties as if they will take care of you when something happens, but when it eventually does, they fail to cover an adequate amount to fix your automobile. Stay away from Total Warranty Services, do some research and carefully select a reputable car warranty provider.
