Marie-Michelle was a wonderful guide. An experienced local that shared her knowledge of Quebec and treated us as long time friends. Our time with her was special and we highly appreciate and recommend her.

My group of friends had a 4-hour layover in Calgary, so asked Ingrid of ToursByLocals to give us a walking tour of city highlights. She was clear about where to meet up - joined our group and led us on a terrific tour of some great sights around the city, sharing her local perspectives and some history as well. We so enjoyed learning more about the city and were very pleased with our guide!

Had an awesome tour of the Coliseum underground and arena with Simona! She is keenly knowledgeable about all the intricacies and history of the Coliseum. She makes sure she is connecting with you along the way and not just spewing out details. Without her guidance we would have just been looking at an old ruin. Her in depth descriptions brought life and vibrancy to the structure and let us feel how incredible the Coliseum was and still is. I was with my 18 year old granddaughter and we both walked away feeling enriched by having this very exclusive, informative and special experience. We were touring on a Sunday during June peak tourist time with hundreds of people and during an awful heat wave (100 degrees), however, Simona managed to weave us expertly through the crowds and still keep our interest peaked even when we were all melting. Simona continued on with us for a tour of Palantine Hill overlooking the Forum. Again, without her descriptions and visual aids we would have been lost. Great job Simona for bringing this massive sight to life! I would highly recommend Simona and this tour to anyone who wants to experience the Coliseum and Palantine Hill instead of just visit it. Simona is organized, professional and responds promptly to all messages which gave me a secure feeling that I was booking a high quality tour specially designed to meet our needs. Thank you for a most memorable tour and experience of a lifetime.

My family of 4 absolutely enjoyed “Naha: Blue Zone 'Ogimi Village' (or / and 'Kinatakagusuku Village') Tour with our wonderful guide Kumiko! She is very organized, knowledgeable, friendly and she communicates very well in English. We’ve had tour guides in Tokyo and Kyoto -Kumiko stands out more! She’s very caring, and she made sure we get a lot out of this tour. We didn’t feel rushed at all. She gave us options as the day went on, based on our energy (and the heat!)
Thank you Kumiko for your hospitality, and sharing your beautiful island of Okinawa with us. You definitely left a special part of Japan in our hearts. We will definitely look out for your other Tours next time we’re back. Highly recommend!!!

Miyoko was an excellent guide for our nine person family group. We had multiple allergies and a baby and she provided for all our needs as well as an excellent guide for Nagasaki. Highly recommend her.

Sitting in your house in Texas trying to find a private guide in Brasov, Romania, can be a daunting task. We are so grateful to have found Florin. We were able to craft our own itinerary to meet our needs. He had great communication prior to pick up at our hotel. He provided great conversation including the history of Romania, living in a communist country, and information about Peles and Bran Castles. We can't give him enough praise.

Noémi was very knowledgeable and engaging. Prior to the tour she sought our opinions about what we wanted to see. She tailored the tour based on our interests and our input as we went along. She was well prepared with a picture folio and other materials to help historical descriptions have more meaning. Along with the historical aspects of the tour, she is well versed in current events and popular culture which allowed her to bring current viewpoints into our discussions. Her personal recollections and life reflections, brought an amazing breadth and depth to the tour. I would highly recommend her for a tour. Ask her about her favorite candy bar!

Pedro was spectacular!! His knowledge of history and enthusiasm for his country make the tour extra special. He was flexible and ensured we saw the most possible. We did the 4 hour Lisbon tour. Sure wish we also had booked him for our Sintra tour!!

Eimear's passion to share the beautiful coast of Ireland was amazing. She went above and beyond to answer our questions. Her personality and knowledge made this itinerary our favorite shore excursion on our 12 night cruise through the UK.

We booked several tours during a cruise that went down the Adriatic into the Greek Islands and then Turkey. The experience of working with the Guides through this site was fantastic. All were very responsive with communicating prior to the tours and then all were there to pick us up. I will use Tours by Locals all the time and have told many friends. If you want some great tours: Aristotelis K for Athens is a must!! He was amazing. We also did Montenegro with Ana and Santorini with Yiannis. We have one more to go and I have no doubt it will be great. Booking process super easy and Guides are available by message to answer any questions prior to booking.

Our family of 5 had a really great tour with Panos at the Palace of Knossos. He planned ahead and kept our teens engaged, and we felt very grateful for the early morning start ahead of the huge influx around 10am. Thank you for sharing your personal insights and the history of this special site.

Miquel is a very knowledgeable guide. Due to the europian championship triatlon there was a roadblock but he directly came whith a solution to adapt the tour. I had a great day. Miquel is also very attentive and pleasant to be around.

We had the most amazing tour of Copenhagen highlights with Carolina, who made this process of organizing the tour very easy, replied very promptly and is a great communicator. She even offered to picked us up at our hotel which was very convenient for us.
I loved her knowledge of the history and the local culture while making it interesting and to point and not overwhelming. The tour was just long enough to be pleasurable. I have done many tours where the person/guide can over bearing and overwhelms. I would highly recommend using her, she was perfect. Thank you Carolina and Tours by Locals. I will be using you again.
