Buyer Beware

Buyer Beware – Toyota of Richardson
This dealership engaged in bait‑and‑switch tactics and misrepresented vehicle specifications. I came in for a 2025 Tundra they advertised, only to be told it wasn’t available and pressured into a 2026 model. Sales staff falsely claimed it had the same payload and towing specs, which was untrue. These actions violate the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA) and TxDMV Rule 215.250. Consumers should be cautious—this dealership does not honor its advertised vehicles or provide honest information.

BUSINESSES PASSING ALONG THEIR TAX DEDUCTIBLE, COST OF DOING BUSINESS CREDIT CARD FEES

I went in for service about a week ago, my first on our new Prius. Everything went well because all they were doing was tire rotation & we only had 1270 miles on it anyway. That said you still had to check out even though it is a part of your contracted service for a new car. On the register they had a note stating they are now CHARGING YOU 3% "FEE" if you use a credit card. How many people have $1000's to pay for large repairs without using a credit card. So prices of the cars & service are not only going up but now they are charging us THEIR COST OF DOING BUSINESS FEE, WHICH IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE TO ALL BUSINESSES, OF 3% CHARGED TO THEM BY THEIR CREDIT CARD COMPANY. I wrote and told them I would NEVER HAVE MY CAR REPAIRED BY ANYONE WHO IS PASSING ON THEIR, LITERAL, COST OF DOING BUSINESS TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. THIS IS GOUGING. ALSO, we are supposed to be getting a 2nd key FOB, like you normally get with all cars, but it has now been over 6 MONTHS since we purchased our Prius AND STILL NO KEY FOB which is very inconvenient! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Make sure, BEFORE you have service work done anywhere, that they do not pass along their Credit Card charges to you because this is NOT YOUR FEE - IT'S THEIRS. We pay our own fees on OUR credit cards and we should NOT PAY FOR THEIR FEES as well. Next they will be charging us an hourly fee for the person checking us out to check us out or something ridiculous like that. Even restaurants are doing this. We, personally, are boycotting anyone passing along their credit card fee, to us. Calling ahead or checking their websites first is advised. I hope that 3%, tax-deductible fee, is worth all the business they will lose.
