Very poor

Very poor. Purchased car and whilst waiting for it to be brought round was told there was an issue with the exhaust sensor but being fixed. Took car and the engine light came on but they told me to call AA as it was now out the grounds. AA said the sensor was never fixed and the warning light was simply wiped. Booked in a few times to get the work done and the day before taking it in the car broke down. Slave cylinder gone. Luckily covered under warranty but it took 5 whole weeks to get the car back. Day I got car back it wouldn’t start. Rang AA and the exhaust light still on, said to call trade centre. Not only will the car struggle to start it also won’t accelerate over 30mph. Trade centre assured me they will recover the vehicle asap and I will be able to collect a hire care whilst mine is in for repair and no cost. Sounds great, except the recovery company called me and said trade centre don’t want it recovering for another 3 WEEKS!!! So I’m expected to wait another 3 weeks on top of the 5 weeks I’ve been without. Simply not good enough at all I have 3 young children and a job to get too!

Unsafe and concerning experience

Unsafe and concerning experience. I was initially told that the brakes had been checked and were in good condition, but this turned out not to be the case. After I personally returned to the branch for a second inspection, a fault was finally identified.

This raises serious concerns about the quality of the inspection process and the safety standards at this branch. Based on my experience, I would not trust their assessment without seeking a second opinion.

Take ya own mechanics before buying

I am a learner driver so could not test drive the car sold to me, was told 3 different mechanics checked the car before sale....., got it home delivered by salesman, well appreciated. Kept hearing a knocking sound. Turns out my car has a dodgy bold bolt. Bare in mind im using car with assistance for my childrens needs..... tradecentre were supposed to call back to see what problem AA found. They have not. Happy to get you sold a car, but when it comes to fixing their mechanics mistakes ...... not so quick. Now having to find someone to take car back under its 28 day warinty to hope they are going to sort the problem out and compensate for the diesel im using to get their mistake fixed! This could have overall been dangerous if the AA person didnt see what the problem was and temporarily fix it.

Started well but soon went downhill

Started well, but soon went downhill.

Our sales person was John at the Rotherham branch. To be fair, John was a great help with suggestions as to what car would be suitable for our needs, and saved us some time by pointing out which wouldn't be (we need a large boot for a wheelchair and something which is easy to get in and out of).

John left us to it when he could, but as senior management were in, his team leader kept coming over which was a little annoying. I presume he needed to look busy.

We saw a car we liked and went away to think about it. The next day, we test drove the car and placed a £500 deposit, and arranged to collect it the following Thursday. It is from here where the service become unbearable.

We were contacted on the Wednesday morning to say the car is ready and we can collect straight away. We opted to stick to our original appointment as we'd arranged the insurance from Thursday. That evening, we had a call to say they won't be able to have the car ready at 11am on Thursday as they've found a small issue with the fuel cap.

On Thursday we were called to say the car was ready at about 12.30. We headed straight over and within 15 minutes of being there, we had made payment via bank transfer. Finance then tried up-selling a warranty and breakdown product we didn't want, that wasted about 15 minutes. We then went through to collections where we did the tax and drivers licence check. From the start, we let them know we couldn't show the actual licence but could provide the licence number and a passport, exxplaining we could drive on a Section 88. They'd never heard of this and although we gave paperwork explaining what it is, how it works and all our licence details, it took 4 people about 45 minutes to decide whether we could drive away or not. Aparently they have a duty of care, but failed to check we have insurance.

Anyway, we eventually made it outside to where the car was parked. It was the only one in the collections area, parked right up against the fence. From the moment we went into the showroom, they were made aware the driver is a wheelchair user, so why they parked it where it was baffles me. Someone from collections had to move it forward, but had zero idea on how to even start it... they didn't even put the key fob into it's slot.

After being told how to start the car, they kept turning it over but it didn't come to life. As it is a diesel, we stopped them as you can damage the pump if there is no fuel. We checked the fuel and it was completely empty.

Someone was asked to bring fuel, but as it was parked so close to the fence had to use a large jug, we got 3 jugs full. The car still wouldn't start so a mechanic was called who managed to get us going.

The car wasn't valeted either as was promised. The screwed up price sticker from the window was still in the door pocket. However, we'd had enough by this point, it was gone 3pm. Over 2 hours to drive away when we didn't have to arrange finance is a joke.

We certainly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and won't be buying from here again.
