We had booked a vacation home in Killaloe from December 20 to 30, 2025, and since we were traveling with our severely disabled adult son, we had made special arrangements in advance to have the house preheated if possible. When we arrived at around 11:30 p.m., the house was freezing cold, so we turned on all the heaters. Since all the heaters were electric, the main fuse blew after 30 minutes and we spent the night without heating or electricity. The next day, we were given another house, but the heating didn't work in all rooms and there were many defects (rusty, dirty oven, the first kettle was too dirty, the second kettle tripped the RCD, the shower head didn't work properly, etc.). It costs us about €40 per day in addition to heating!
