Elderly account holders not welcome

Use this bank at your own risk. Their favorite past time is brutally abusing the elderly, terrible customer service, poor and predatory business practices. Their app is made to swindle you out of your money and the employees don’t care to help you with it. Use this bank at your own risk. Detangling my mothers finances after they almost bankrupted her with their fees and confusing app was the most disgusting way of doing business I have ever experienced. She’s on a fixed income. They didn’t even bother to look at her accounts before telling her it was user error. They have yet to return money they owe her. I’m willing to bet be filing complaints with all regulatory government entities.

Terrible Bank

Absolutely, the 2nd worst bank I’ve ever dealt after the scammy Wells Fargo bank. The customer service is awful. Their policies are scammy and despite their multi-million dollar ad campaigns they DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU, JUST YOUR MONEY.

Truist Saved the day from a auto DealerI purchased a new vehicle on a…

I purchased a new vehicle on a Wednesday. The dealership finance manager told me that Truist was totally paperless and that I had to go to their website, locate my account number, set up my online account, and set up the payment cycle. After visiting the Truist website and reading the online reviews, it made for a truly depressing weekend. This being said, Monday rolls around and I decide to call Truist customer service, as no lending institution I've ever dealt with just throws money at you and then expects you to fend for yourself to get them repaid. My point, the dealer finance manager was incorrect. Calling Truist, it took me a couple of verbal "customer service" requests on their automated line to get a live person. After explaining my situation to their assistant, it was clear that any issue I had was, at least at this point, totally dealership related. Truist account service agent Cheryl (based remotely in Florida) was outstanding. First off, she was very patient and spoke clearly and fluently (greatly appreciated in today's typical outsourcing environment). Cheryl was able to locate my auto loan account and walk me through the entire online process to arrange for autopay with the option to make additional principal payments. While my experience thus far has been in direct contrast to other reviews that I've read, I'm a happy camper for now. Cheryl is a true ambassador for Truist, and their banking website was pretty straightforward once I received the proper guidance. Time will tell, but for now, all is well.

Very poor customer service

Our mortgage is held by Truist and we recently opened a credit card account with them as well.
I requested a balance transfer on the credit account and received an email that everything was underway, expect the transfer in 2-3 weeks.
At 3 1/2 weeks I contacted them for status. After a 45 minute phone call I learned that the transfer was actually cancelled the day after I initiated it. Apparently they made ONE attempt to call my husband, and he didn't answer, so they deleted the request. They also locked the credit card, because, why not.
Truist didn't contact me regarding any of these developments and the rep I spoke with - when I called in - was not trained to offer any sort of actual help.

Cash out Home Equity refinance …

We recently needed to pay off our credit cards because the zero APR expired and the standard APR was so high. Luckily, we have built up a good amount of equity in our home. We’re retired and live on fixed income. We’re juggling to pay our bills monthly it feels like being on the treadmill nonstop. We tried couple well known mortgage companies but didn’t get any where. We turned to our own mortgage TRUIST. God blessed us with Stacy Jeffries and Nicholas Reemtsen. We’re impressed with their professionalism, performance, personable nature and empathy. Were able to get our cash out home equity loan all in one payment and paying all our creditors off. They’re the Best! our guardian angels and saviors. Now we get to breathe and enjoy our retirement. Thank you Stacy, Nicholas and TRUIST.

The worse bank ever

The worse bank ever, there customer care service is the worse every. No one knows anything. I personal called 4X to see what was the process to pay off my home equity loan and was told to go to the bank pay the amount and they would send me a letter by mail. Finally, I went to the bank in my home town and when I gave the teller the cashier's check to pay off I ask the "Teller" is there anything else I need to do, any hidden charges and was told "no" that I would get a letter in the mail that the account was paid off. After waiting for 2 months I went to the same Bank and was told that I needed to pay $10.00 to close the account. I was so upset that I couldn't understand why was I not told this when I called the customer care service. After making a check for $17,000 I could have paid the $10 at that time and the issue would off been resolved. This was in June when I paid the account and still October is here and the issue is still not resolve. Please do not open or get anything from this bank "NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THERE DOING"

Bank card disputes are never honored. Do you have no protection here

I have been banking with Truist in Conyers Georgia since it was Main Street bank so more than 27 years and I am treated like a second class citizen with respect to credit card disputes according to Truist it is OK that a company advertising shoes can put on their website that I can try them risk free and they’re supposed to be really comfortable shoes for hiking and turns out it’s like hiking in a sock there’s no cushion you would feel every Rock they even made false claims about helping with neuropathy, which is a medical claim not authorized by the FDA so more false information then when I tried to get a refund, they claimed that they will only offer 20% and I refused then they offered 30% something like that I refuse. I said I want the risk free offer that I saw when I ordered so I file a dispute with Truist and they denied it and said that I received some benefit and that I authorize the transaction so folks if you want some Visa card protection against Shady merchant this bank is not it. These people that work in the disputes department have no clue what a valid dispute is even if a company is all over the BBB with negative reviews. Even more odd is someone else I know ordered the same shoes had the same experience and their dispute with their bank went entirely differently. They complained about the risk for the offer, not being risk free and that the shoes are not comfortable as they claim Presto they get their money back, so how did banks have different views of what a dispute is? They must get brownie points for refusing them and treating the customers like crap!! You will still not get your money back because Truist works for the shady merchants not you. !!! Another example. TRUiST thinks it’s ok that a burger place serves a raw burger. I can’t go back & get money back because I was traveling & didn’t want to drive 50 miles back but I emailed them & they agreed that shouldn’t have happened & Will return the money, but then they would not do so and Truist still can’t approve a dispute ?? They called it “food quality” instead of food safety . Do not bank here unless you want to be completely unprotected from shady merchants.

Truist, No Customer Service

BB&T was a fairly good bank until Truist took it over, and I have been fortunate to only have personal accounts. But their customer service has become nonexistent. Today I called their 844-487-8478 “Contact Us” number.
After answering a protracted list of questions I was connected to Gia who had no idea how to help me, from their I was transferred to Aritha a supervisor who couldn’t talk to me unless I could provide her with all my online passwords or the year and month I opened my account more than 14 years ago.
I know banks do not make much money on personal accounts, but I am done being treated like my business and time have no worth, I am finished dealing with Truist.

Don't Consider Opening a Business Account

If you are considering opening a business or even just looking for a bank to handle your business needs, I highly discourage you from choosing Truist. Their customer service is horrible and their attention to detail is nonexistent.

If you currently have a checking account with the Fraud Inspector feature with Truist, I recommend deleting this feature because any checks cashed against your account will not be reimbursed because the bank considers the transaction approved by the customer, even if you were not available to reject the charges. You will not be reimbursed for the money that was stolen from your account.

I have ordered credit cards for our business that have been delivered with the wrong name on the front of the card. This happened to one of our cards with a $75,000 credit limit.

When our business checking account was opened, they actually sent checks that needed to be hand written along with a leather bound ledger to keep track of balances in our checking account. It was laughable. I had to order checks from an outside vendor that would work with our accounting software.

I can go on an on. The incompetence and sheer lack of customer service is unacceptable.

Go to another bank

Absolutely the worst ever. I have dealt with many banks but Truist takes the cake. I have had multiple business and personal accounts with them for 20 years (back to Suntrust days). My loyalty with this bank is irrelevant. There was a clerical error with one of my business loan accounts and they actually took money from my personal account to satisfy the business loan which was current. But there have been many issues for years. I have not had a business bank rep in years and when I did, my rep was on the other side of the country. My local branch employee turnover rate seems to be weekly. Too many issues to note. Do yourself a favor and put your money elsewhere.

I have business accounts with Truist

I have business accounts with Truist. It has been almost a year and things were okay outside of the 36.00 fees they charged all of the time. However, as of recently they have froze my accounts twice in one month without having a reason why all of the reps and supervisors I spoke to where guessing but no real answers and guess mad no sense. I only came to them because one of the agency that pay me use them and I was able to receive funds a day sooner but it is not worth the stress or headache any longer. I will be leaving them and going to a new bank this is bad business and bad for my business!!!

I went to the ATM at Truist in Pelham

I went to the ATM at Truist in Pelham, Alabama. There was no sign that stated the ATM was down but when I attempted to retrieve my money it than let me know it was not working. Called the Pelham branch and they stated that it's been down since Friday, but you didn't bother to put a SIGN up. Proceeds to tell me that I'll have to file a claim for their mistake. BEWARE

Checking account with 2 transactions a month considered dormantdormant

My monhly social security check is deposited to my Truist checking account. I have had the account for over 10 years, since they were SunTrust. Every month I use their bill pay to make my credit card payment to USAA Bank. I set a payment of $1,007 (my account balance on that date was just over $4,000) for Aug 29 and received the written confirmation. The payment was made, but immediately retracted, because the fine people at Truist decided that because I have only two transactions a month my account is dormant. Since my credit card payment was taken back, I've been charged a finance charge by USAA Bank. I am so disgusted that Truist will accept my Social Security deposit, but not allow money to be withdrawn. My balance is now over $5,000, but evidently I no longer have access to the money because Truist has determined the account is dormant. One of the helpful Truist representatives actually suggested that I buy a "happy meal" once in awhile in order to have more than two transactions per month to keep the account from becoming dormant.
