I contacted Trust Capital on line to obtain funding

I contacted Trust Capital on line to inquiry about funding for my start up business. I was impressed with Paul's knowledge and ability to structure my application. I received my loan in 6 weeks. I highly recommend Trust Capital to help you with your business needs. I recommended Trust Capital to a business associate who also received a loan and he has been in business for several years. We both had talked to other loan companies and felt Trust Capital was the best source due to Paul's expertise and professionalism.

After being in business for several…

After being in business for several years, we needed to expand the company to another city, so we reached out to Trust Capital and a few competitors to get a loan for IT equipment and office furniture. I felt comfortable with this group right away, and I felt they worked very efficiently. The entire process was fair and as quick as possible. I definitely recommend this company!

Broker not a lender & Horrible

First Trust Capital USA is a BROKER not a lender.
They broker for Global Financial out of AZ
Global Financial is the company that has the funds, the investors, etc.

First sign of being a bad outfit:

They ACH'd my account for $900 without telling me and without sending me a receipt weeks before the deal was even close to closing. Then on a check list they asked for the money again and I paid it a second time in a money order. I had to ask 3 times to get them to reverse the $900 ACH.

Equipment purchase for $128K
Leased amount requested (after being told I need a big chunk down): $90K

Offered in writing:
24 Month lease: First and last month: $4951.78 and 22 payments of the same. With $1 buyout

Then the jerking around comes: 36 month lease 20% FMV Buyout
I said no and kept arguing about original offer then I was told to call their Credit Manager, "name had to be deleted per t&c" . However, "name had to be deleted per t&c" does not work for them, but for Global Financial out of Arizona.

"Name had to be deleted per t&c" starts asking me for the same stuff I've given the sales manager and owner at Trust Capital USA (now remember, I don't know anything about Global Financial)

After the credit manager of Global Financial and I (two former Bostonians) clear the air and we figure out the nonsense, he sends me the term sheet:

$5100 for 24 months with $9K down 20% FMV buyout OR 12 more payments of $5100 a month with a $1 buyout.

Lets do simple math:

Adding the potential of a 20% kicker on top of $131,400 for a $90K lease is equivalent to borrowing from the local bookie in Little Italy. (20% of $90K = $18K + $41,400 = $59,400 on top of my principle of $90K or 66%) Or more depending on their thought of FMV on the system.

My financial picture:
My personal credit score is excellent.
I put 30% down on the equipment.
I offered a Personal Guarantee with millions in free assets on hand.

The Run Around:

Credit approved, given terms, then no paper work, then a "New higher" rate a couple of weeks latter, (investors who are putting up the cash want a 36 month lease not 24 month lease), I said no to the new terms, then 3 days latter promised a slightly higher (Under $50 a month higher) terms for 24 months, I said yes, send the paper work. (in reality it was almost $150 a month more) Days go by, no paper work, then a call from the owner of Trust Capital USA. The owner tells me the sales manager had no authority to offer me the deal and it is off the table and wants me to pay more money or put more money down or go 36 months.

I said no, I am out, send me my $11K back. Then the sales manager of Trust Capital USA emails me and says he has the paper work for the original terms and they are ready to go.

I do business with people I trust, not with contracts, terms and lease %'s.
The owner of Trust Capital USA and in my opinion has poor business ethics. I am not doing business with Trust and I would advise you to find other direct lending sources & not a broker. The credit manager from Global Financial was straight forward and honest, if the cost of money was not so expensive I would do business with them. Fortunately I have the means to get this done at sub 4.5% rate.

Final thoughts: You will pay double or more for you money; borrow $50K and you will pay back $100K or more. Global Financial has a lot of mouths to feed: Run their over head, pay Trust Capital USA a commission and pay their investors their vig on the money.

Peter,

We value our customers and are sorry things didn't work out for you. If you would've let me speak to you when I called you I would've explained to you that it was the lender and not us that kept changing their pricing for this industry. I can email you proof that our contact from the bank kept raising the payments on the lease and I kept fighting him on it.

Then we offered you to speak to directly to the lender so we thought you were going to work things out with them directly. I was waiting for the lenders CEO to get back from vacation to get you a lower rate. I would've explained all of this to you if you would've let me speak to you when I called but you wouldn't let me speak on the phone to you. I never ripped you off. I gave you 10k back promptly after you cancelled your lease and you make me sound like we ripped you off when in reality I was trying to help you and I can prove it.

Most companies would've tried to take your money or take partial or make you wait a long time. I did the right thing and have always been doing the right thing if you'd just listen and let me explain it you'd understand. It's our aim to get the best deal for all our clients and if we can't we part ways amicably. Which is what we were trying to do for you. Please remove this post as we did not rip you off.

Thank you sir.

Paul

I'm very disappointed with the handling…

I'm very disappointed with the handling of my loan from Trust Capital. It seems I just kept getting passed from one person to another with no one making sure my process went smoothly. The up front charge was taken out of my checking account at least a week before the loan funded. At every level of your operation and even with the company that funded the loan I was told the money would be put in my account that day. The money was never put in my account but instead was FED EX'd to me. Also I was told there would be no prepayment penalty but found out as the loan was funded that I would have to pay the full 3 years interest even if I paid it off early. Your staff is friendly and nice but they didn't see the loan thru to the end and did not return my call as I was calling for status reports. Phil Thompson

The team at Trust is Great!

The team at Trust were great and helpful in putting together several options and ultimately a financing package that worked for my small business. Timely, helpful, and courteous I felt very comfortable working with them. Will gladly work with them again the next time I need a big chunk of capital.

The Trust Capital team came to my rescue for equipment financing as a start up. Communication was great, and they worked efficiently to help me reach my funding goal with an awesome lender. Thank you!
