Disappointing delays and poor communication
I chose tryAlma for my O-1 visa process mainly because they advertised fast processing and a streamlined experience. Unfortunately, my actual experience has been very frustrating.
It has been around three months since I started, and I expected to be much further along by now. During the process, especially around the recommendation letter phase, I have had to repeatedly follow up by email to get answers. Responses often take 24–48 hours, sometimes longer, and I frequently have to ask the same question more than once before getting a clear response.
One major issue is that the portal does not seem to accurately reflect what is actually blocking progress. It often shows that the process is “waiting on me,” even when I am waiting for responses or clarification from the attorney/team via email. This makes the process feel untracked and opaque.
For something as time-sensitive and stressful as an immigration case, delays and unclear communication create real anxiety. I only have a few weeks left to make important visa decisions, and this has added unnecessary stress.
I really wanted this to be a smooth experience, but based on my current experience, I am disappointed with the communication, turnaround times, and overall SLA.
