DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

If I could leave "minus" stars I would! Buyer beware.... to start this review off I will say that this "project" took 2 years!!! We put our deposit down in 2024!

Tuff Shed said they had a dedicated team for KCMO to assist with the process & to help expedite the permit... not true. Customer service is/was pushy from beginning to end and even accusatory during the construction process. They cancelled our first install date & demanded more money!!!???!!! They somehow started w/out us signing the new paperwork for more money, yet they are still pushing us for more money!! We have everything in writing!

Our salesperson... no help, no calls back, no touch base to see how project was going...just collected his commission & moved on. No calls from managers... locally, district or national!! They were hoping we would cancel and they could keep our deposit, but that was not happening!!!

We did have a few people along the way that did help, but overall it has been an absolute horrible experience!!! Time is money and we received the certificate of occupancy a few weeks ago... and now we have MOLD!!!! This is a nightmare and now we have to push out other contractors because of this issue! Time is money and this continues to cost us more and more everyday! And this garage is only 18'x20'.

I will update my review, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!! I will report to BBB, Trustpilot and any additional opportunities to review this company.

Disappointed doesn’t cover it!

We provided Tuff-Shed ample time to correct the issues before writing the review but after almost three weeks of promises without fulfillment, it is time. The initial process was simple. The customizing and ordering was fairly easy, including scheduling the install. The install itself was mainly standard, except towards the end of completion, it all broke down. Here is the list of what went wrong:

1. The contractor was not given enough supplies to complete the roof, so we have a five inch hole in the ceiling/roof.
2. A corner of the roofing material was missing. It still is! The contractor said they didn’t send enough.
3. It was raining so they didn’t finish painting. There are splotches of different color paints everywhere.
4. We had a 16x12 shed and were told by their rep to ensure the foundation (we built a cement foundation for it) was exactly 12x16. Our contractor made precisely, and the shed had 1/2 inch exposed on each side. So, now we have a literal opening on each side where rodents and other animals can gain access. So, we had to spend more money to buy flashing and we had to fix their mistake.

The contractor said he would notify Home Depot that these pieces were missing and that someone would be out in a few days to place them. He also said he was “Leaving the paint there as if we were expected to paint even though we paid for it to be done. This was a $13,000 shed.

We waited for the contractor to contact us about when the parts and paint would be done but got radio silence.

We made multiple attempts and had them either cancel one appointment because the contractor’s trailer got a flat tire. Not before they said that the contractor did not inform them that pieces were missing or the painting was not finished. The second appointment the contractor did not show up because- according to the foreman- the wrong color parts were ordered. According to the contractor, no one told him that he had to paint.

Scott Frazier, the initial rep we made the purchase with, pretty much ignored us after he made the sale.

Pictures are available for review if Tuff-Shed wants to check.

Tuff shed gets super hot even on just a warm day

While tuff sheds are well built, the seller doesn't mention how super hot they get with only a little sunshine. I bought it to store equipment in, but it gets so hot it will ruin any rubber or plastic parts. Also unsafe to store gas or fuel in. I have added windows and vents but it's still crazy hot. If the seller had warned me about this,I would have had it insulated at the time.

I purchased a Tuff Shed and they refused to honor mthe warranty

I purchased a Tuff Shed, and it was installed in June 2024. Twice after that shingles on the ridge vent were damaged due to wind. Tuff Shed sent someone out to repair it. On 3-27-2026. the wind damaged the singles on the ridge vent again. I was asked to send pictures of the damage, which I did. I was sent a message from Fallon with Tuff Shed that said the damage appears to be consistent with an external impact and is not covered by warranty and I needed to pay $450.00 to have it fixed. It happened after a strong wind and there was nothing lying on the ground that could have caused that Damage. They didn't want to spend the money for materials and labor to repair it.

Immorl and Underhanded

First, I am terribly confused by how this company has an A+ rating, and all I read on BBB were negative reviews??????
I left two stars because the quality of the build was good, and Eddie, the contrator who built it (not associated with Tuff Shed) was excellent..
Everything else, i.e., dealing with Tuff Shed and its representatives, was deplorable. If anyone doubts what I'm about to write, I'll send you all of the emails I've kept showing their underhanded marketing and upselling. Ordered a simple lean-to shed, 4 X 10. For some reason I was told it needed to be 5 X 10 "to make the door fit". O.k., I didnt' grouse about that and the original stated price went from $2,646 to $ 2,789. I then requested a simple door at the other end---wait for it: $698!!!!! for a door????? This is a shed, not a Frank Gehry masterpiece. I was told to pick the paint colors because the paint was included in the cost. What they didn't tell you was it was another $349 to APPLY the paint!!!! Then they added a window for which we didn't ask. Then they added the cost of two vents and door hardware, after telling me it was included. Bottom line, the $2,646 shed was now going to cost $4,096.67!!!!!! It took weeks to work this out and get them to reasonable price, but I will never work with them again. They have no compunction about their immoral marketing and sales processes.

My wife and I bought our shed awhile…

My wife and I bought our shed awhile back. One of the front door beams got loose. When I called them I spoke to the head honcho at the office. He told me it was a simple fix. I said so fix it. We just bought the shed. No was the answer.

Tuff Shed sucks

This company has the worst customer service in the US. I paid a great deal for a new Tuff Shed. The build quality was between poor and average. I spent countless hours with them through texts and phone calls. Finally they agreed to come to my location to inspect the problems. It took one month to get an appointment then no one showed. I called again and received to reply. Avoid this company at all cost.

These guys (BR Construction) worked HARD and did an outstanding job on our Tuff Shed. It turned out beautiful. I really appreciate their attention to detail. I cannot say enough good things about them, except maybe, that they were friendly and very professional as well!!

the shed was installed in January 2026

the shed was installed in January 2026. Just a few weeks later, it rained and the door leaked. I contacted Tuff Shed to repair the leak and I was told this isn't covered. I paid over $7,000 for this shed and it leaks and they are unwilling to fix it. They claim they have the best sheds and are under warranty, but they do not keep their word and their work is crappy.

Process was fast and easy to design…

Process was fast and easy to design online. Install was great. The team came on time and had the whole thing finished in less than 4 hours. The shed is beautiful and quality built, using 2x4 framing as opposed to the lower quality 2x3 framed sheds. The whole thing is good quality. I would definitely buy again.

The installation was horrible

The installation was horrible, the placed the shed nearly directly on the ground, no way to level it, wouldn't stand behind their work. Would not recommend dealing with this company. I learned.

I picked Tuff Shed because one of my daughters experience.

I picked Tuff Shed because one of my daughters has purchased two Tuff Sheds over the years. I want to mention Robert Kelly at the Riverside store. I went to the store on a Wednesday morning to order a shed. Robert showed me what was available and processed my order very efficiently. On my way home, the office called to schedule the installation for Thursday morning. The two installers came and did a great job of getting my shed finished and looking fantastic. This was one of my best decisions regarding sheds. I have had several sheds over the 46 years I have lived in my home!

Shed was installed way to high

I'm not happy with the install of my shed. I paid $200.00 for a man tuff shed recommended to level my spot. When he was finished it looked halfway decent. The guy that installed my shed put more blocks in and now its 8-9 inches off the ground. I wanted it to be as low as possible. I need the get a ramp just to put anything in it. I'm going to the BBB and see if I can get my $200 back since it was a waste of money to be leveled. I'm not a happy customer.

Excellent service and set up

I purchased an 8x10 Premier Standard Ranch shed in September from the Mulberry Florida Dealer nearby. Leah in the sales department was very helpful and had extensive knowledge of the building industry. The set up team did a great job building the shed on site and the Tampa office was helpful with scheduling and permitting.

Do not trust the installers. Check the work!

Had a 12x12 installed last November. After installing multiple counters and shelves discovered the shed’s out of plumb by a good margin. Also, most of the rear wall (manufactured at their site) the nails missed the studs completely. They did a shoddy job but I’m living with it because I’ve put much effort into the thing. If I did it over I’d stay on top of them since I know carpentry and would have spotted junk.

Great product.

I now have three sheds. I built one, I rented one to own, and now I purchased one with installation from Tuff Shed through Home Depot. My salesman at Tuff Shed, Paul, kept me informed and bird-dogged the process from start to finish. Tuff Sheds installers Ephraim and his assistant arrived on time with the preassembled shed. They leveled the awesome gavanized steel base and began construction. It comes with the walls and doors pre-assembled. They put up the walls and the roof, shingled and installed drip edge on the roof, installed the doors, and applied the second coat of paint (the first coat is applied at their shop after building the walls). The whole process took exactly 4.5 hours, and the shed is fantastic! Very well constructed. The men that they sent to do the job were very professional and organized. Thank you to them and Tuff Shed for providing me with a quality product and service.

Horrible experience from the Tuff Shed…

Horrible experience from the Tuff Shed salespersons (from both their recommendations), which they recommended that I NOT let tuff shed administrators oversee the zoning requirements porting of my shed request. This was a big mistake and a headache I had to go through. Also, the salesperson (Lee Daugherty) was so substandard. I wanted two (2) sheds placed in my backyard. However because he did not know about the easement (which was clearly listed on my property documents), and he did not tell me that Tuff Shed could not place the lean-to shed on my home until the last minute. So, towards the end of my planning, he just stopped talking about my lean-to, which I was willing to pay $10,000 for installation.
Next, I had a lot of complaints after the installation, and I wrote my complaints on the after- installation documentation. Also, I called Tuff Shed (day after installation) and left a detailed voice message complaint. So, I waited for a customer representative to call me back. Unfortunately, it has been a week and I still have not received any communication from Tuff Shed administration addressing my complaints. Lee did call and left a message- but I did not want to deal with that one again. For Tuff Shed Adminstators, I did not sign the after installation documentation- so, please take a look at the documentation. So, Tuff Shed administration has been incompetent and just uncaring about their customer complaints.
Problem(s) list (which was placed on Tuff Shed after-installation report) :
- The Installation team called me in the afternoon of day before the install -to tell me they could not make it on 12 August 2025. So, taking off from work to be there for installation – wasting my time. They next said that they would arrive on 13 Aug 0800am - 1200pm. They arrive at 0713 am with no call letting me know of their earlier plans.
- Installers complaint(s): they did not install the ramp, both trash and nails were left at site; they did not paint black trim on upper right side of trim (you can see the white spots on the black trim): used my water hose without my permission in both the front and backyards (and did not replace them), left black paint on inside shed wall paper house wrap (looks like tagging or graffiti), and they left a trail of white paint from backyard gate through the grass to the shed install site.
Lastly, I have contacted Tidewater shed for my lean-to and will post about my experience with them compared with Tuff Shed. All my neighbors know of this nightmare experience- and I will post this on my community page- to warn all my neighbors of this disappointing experience with Tuff Shed.

Integrity, Quality and Professionalism

It's not everyday that customers can truly rely on effective service recovery, especially after a project or job is seemingly complete. However, the team at Tuff Shed went above and beyond to ensure that our newly installed shed was completed to our full satisfaction and exactly as we had envisioned. This level of dedication truly speaks to the integrity, quality, and excellent customer service that Tuff Shed embodies.

A special thank you to Alvin, Andrew, Mike, both Steves, and the entire install crew for your hard work and commitment to customer satisfaction. Your efforts are deeply appreciated.

Thank you again for an outstanding experience.
