We thoroughly enjoyed our river cruise and would definitely consider booking another one in the future. Unfortunately, due to the unusually low water levels on the Danube, our itinerary had to be changed considerably. While this was disappointing, we completely understood that the situation was beyond the company’s control. We appreciated the partial refund we received and, despite the changes, we still very much enjoyed the places we visited and the experiences we had. One of the real highlights of the holiday was the staff. They were fantastic throughout – professional, helpful, friendly and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were well looked after. We were particularly impressed with the way my husband’s coeliac dietary requirements were handled. The staff took great care to ensure that he could eat safely and still enjoy a wide variety of food. The quality of the food was superb, and the fact that gluten-free beer was also available was a lovely touch and very much appreciated. Sadly, our flight home was cancelled, which was obviously frustrating. We did feel that communication surrounding the cancellation and the arrangements afterwards could have been better. However, we don’t feel that this should detract from what was, overall, a very enjoyable holiday. Despite the challenges caused by the low water levels and the problems with our return flight, we came home with many happy memories. The wonderful staff, excellent food and overall river cruise experience more than made up for the unexpected changes. We would definitely choose to go on another river cruise in the future.

Let's start with the negatives. We were told on the 5 hour + coach journey we would have snacks and drinks provided. We had a drink of water and no snacks. The toilet on the coach was blocked, so we couldn't use it. No pool available in the very hot weather and hadn't been for a few weeks. Reflections restaurant, when the roof is open, you look up to see the staff smoking area. The music in all areas was on a loop and it got boring after a day. On a positive note, the staff were brilliant. The food was lovely. The boat was very clean. Special thanks to Marco who was our cabin steward. The bar staff were very attentive. Special thanks to Tolga, Mate, Marinka. There was also two lads but unfortunately we didn't get their names. Restaurant staff were amazing and they are Berkan, Anna, July, Timo, Catalin and Ibrahim. The entertainment team were fabulous too. Would definitely recommend . Despite the water levels being low on the Danube and transferring us to a different itinerary at such short notice, we had a fabulous time

We were very disappointed with the lack of communication with regard the ever changing itinerary. Also the food was not up to the standard we had had on our previous Tui river cruises

While we understood the need to amend the cruise to suit the river levels on the Danube from arrival to departure there was a complete lack of organisation/information, we booked the Skyla which was cancelled, several emails and phone calls giving conflicting information ended up with an alternative boat 'The Maya' being offered and accepted by us, no go with that one, unpacked got settled which lasted only 2nights, asked to pack up and move to yet the third boat because the Maya had engine trouble, next one was the Isla which we all had to move to before breakfast. We only actually had one day of river cruising, plus one night, out of the 7 we should have had! Bad flights outbound and inbound, apparently if you you stay on the same plane the it counts as a direct flight, not in my mind!!!!5 hours on the tarmac at Budapest before a short flight to Vienna then a 90minute transfer time to the boat. Coming home the coach to Vienna airport was an hour late leaving all passenger in the car park with no explanation/apologies for the delay. All in all the worst holiday we have ever had, we have received compensation however as we did not get anywhere near the holiday we booked (why they didn't just cancel and refund altogether I do not know)all be it some of it due to the level of the water on the Danube which we know was out of TUI's control, a full refund would have been much more in order. I have been led to believe that all TUI River cruises in Europe were cancelled after our disastrous experience but not sure how true that is.

This was a revised River Cruise itinerary . Which we were advised by the Tui call operator everything was fully in place. On return I raised a complaint and I have been completely dismissed with basically a too bad apology. On the ship the food and staff were lovely, the ship was half full due to the change in itinerary. The Captain confirmed the Swimming pool was broken nothing to do with water level. Could not use the bicycles as no helmets for insurance. Missed 2 stops and were stuck for 3 hours in a loch without any communication Absolute disgrace of customer service.

This was our second River cruise with TUI in the last 3 years, with my wife and 2 adult sons. Last time we sailed the Main/Rhine and enjoyed it so much we thought we would try a Danube cruise. Given the problems of low water on the Danube river we still had a great holiday thanks to all the TUI staff who should be commended for their hard work to make opportunities for alternative excursions. We already had advance warning of the river problems and a replacement itinerary had been proposed. It turns out that some changes were still needed due to a technical issue with our river boat, we had to be transferred to a replacement boat on the first full day. We had some memorable trips to Salzburg, Linz, Passau and Vienna. We had many coach trips which are not everyone's ideal way to travel but at least we had the opportunity to take in the breathtaking Austrian scenery, simply beautiful! On board the river boat the usual high standard of service and excellent food choices made our experience a pleasurable one. I would again consider another cruise with TUI based on our 2 experiences to date

River Cruise is not the words at the moment, floating hotel is more like it, falsely told us water levels would only cause 1 minor problem as far as our itinerary, once onboard this was apparent due to the fact we actually only cruised to two of our itinerary destinations, TUI offered people on the Skyla cruise on 3rd August our return day, 15% refund and £150 pp in holiday vouchers to go on the same itinerary we had just completed, but when we asked to be treated the same it was an AI generic response that wasn't even answering any of our questions, with a flat out NO.

Have been on several cruises with tui, lack of water on the River was not your fault BUT you could have pre-warned us and given us the opportunity to cancel or rebook like you have done with the cruise that immediately followed ours. We have lost our confidence in TUI. POOR SHOW Tui. Arwel & Angela

Not what we paid for and TUI totally unhelpful both befoře and after the cruise when we were all aware of the water level problem. TUI refuses to give any compensation. So we must seek alternative remedies.

We weren’t given enough information about significant changes to the itinerary, despite the implication that TUI was aware of the situation in advance. We were not offered the opportunity to cancel the holiday or receive appropriate compensation. Planned cruising was replaced by bus journeys to destinations, materially changing the nature of the holiday. Large portable air-conditioning units were installed in public areas, taking up valuable space, while those areas nevertheless remained uncomfortably hot.

Considering the level of water and changed itinerary it was excellent. Pity the whole experience was let down by a total lack of communication from Tui.
